I am furious at how this has been handled.

This is nvidia controlling the market share. They had no intention of producing enough stock. They hyped it so much no retailer could handle the traffic plus supply and demand. It's not evga, newegg etc..it was a digital traffic jam. Nvidia is definitely behind some of the scalping as well and they are taking a cut. It's called business and was predictably expected. On a side note, a friend of mine found a scalper dumb enough to sell him a card in person but my friend gave the scalper fake 100 dollar bills.

What are you 12?  Hope your "friend" likes PMITA federal prison.

Yeah I'm 12 and banging on my keyboard and screaming at my screen over a video card...🤣.I'm not the idiot that made the transaction..My friend screwed the scalper. Plain and simple. I'm not furious how the situation was handled. It's ridiculous people are getting so bent out of shape over a video card because they simply can't wait. Time will go by and people will get their card. As for my friend, yeah no crap it's an offense but it's one less scalper that capitalized...patience..

Evga isn't the one that screwed up. It started with Nvidia. I never had an issue with Evga.

I wish there was a general idea on step up queues. If I knew it was within a month I'd buy a 2070 to tide me over.

Here is what you shoud of done. Just before the 3080 launch I knew people were going to sell their 2080ti. They were selling for 400-500 bucks each. I purchased 4 at that price point and threw them into my bench setup to make sure they worked. After the 3080 I knew people would just about buy any card to put their system simply because some people just can't wait. I kept 1 of the 4 2080ti as a spare for my first system and sold the remaining 3 for almost double what I paid and I never had to step foot in a line. Basically my 3090 cost me 200 bucks.

I agree.  Hard to blame Evga.  This is all on Nvidia.

Exactly. Evga had zero control over the inventory. Let us not forget all designs have to be approved by Nvidia and any disagreement will cause a delay in manufacturing. Evga is a greay company and I have been using their power supplies and cards for over a decade and they stand behind their products

Let's hope the 3090s don't have issues like the 3080s. Alot of people are complaining about the 3080 crashing to desktop.

A waste of time you chose to waste. You have how many people that were all trying to do the same thing as you, what did you think would happen? There is no way they could keep up with the traffic demand. I only had to refresh twice. I didn't use Chrome. I used Microsoft edge, turned off anti virus and allowed all permissions to have a better shot at getting through and I did. I told myself I will give it 10 min. If it works great, if not oh well I'll just wait. I only wanted the 3090 to bench and then I am giving the card to my brother after the KP unit is released.

Probably not, but you never know I guess. Hopefully all the botters/scalpers move on to other things so I can actually buy something on the EVGA store.

It’s either them or the idiots hitting refresh 50 times in half a minute.

Don't be because the cards are having cap issues. I canceled my order on evga for the 3090. Going to wait another 6 months or so

Have you looked into the response from EVGA on this? They mitigated the cap issues by modifying the array, many reviewers were sent the faulty cards out of necessity. However, the 3080 FTW3 production models were delayed purposely to fix this issue prior to release to the public.

I find it interesting that that makes sense to you.

Or let me put it another way: A business would want to make sure its bribes and "understandings" are firmly in order before doing something like that. Which doesn't seem to have been the case...

I understand. Design changes take time but I am going to wait until the KP HC is available and go that route. The unlocked power limit is going to be fun to utilize

So, you will be playing Cyberpunk at 175 FPS vs 165. I’m sure you will notice the difference 🤣 (discourse: FPS numbers are taken from the ceiling of my office).

I would also like to voice my support for the option to preorder. It would seem it is near impossible for a human to order the best deals every midweek madness. Literally anything good gets bought out by automated bots within SECONDS of the pages going live.

At this time there are no pre-orders. If there is a change then EVGA will announce it.

Fingers crossed.

Ha, Jacob already stated that all production cards have capacitor issue resolved. EVGA went with a mix of 4 POSCAPs and 20 MLCC caps.

Put in my FTW3 Ultra 3090 this morning, replacing a 1080ti. 2x frame rate in Control, Monster Hunter: World, and Borderlands 3, with lower temperatures. Everything I could have asked for. Thanks, EVGA!

The Elite program sale of the 3090 FTW3 was a ****show. I had the thing in my cart and on the checkout page for a solid hour unable to complete the final confirmation page (after entering payment) only for it to finally give me the OOS error. What a waste of time.

Same, I had it in cart within about a few seconds of go live, with payment information already entered and ready to go and on the last page in under 10 seconds.  I then struggled with the last page to confirm my order (and having to re-enter my payment details every 5 minutes) for over 100 minutes all for nothing.  I was livid, never been so unhappy with trying to buy something in my life.  Its one thing to not get something and it being sold out in a few minutes, its another to be told they are in stock for 100 minutes of you frustratingly trying to complete a transaction with no discernible method of making it go through on the final leg, just endless timeouts and reentering payment details over and over.

I mean EVGA's website has gone down for every drop...but then again, I don't think any website has survived a mass drop. Just frustrating for some people who are on the website refreshing first and they can't checkout in time before the site goes down.

I have been on for most of the 3080 drops, and none have been fun, but this one was particularly bad imo because of how long it took before oos happened.  100 minutes of frustration vs 10 to 30 minutes with some of the other drops, all while Jacob was saying they still had stock on twitter.  I am just venting, I know this is a difficult issue to solve as it is a rare periodic insane traffic load vs the a much lower baseline.

For those asking for availability date, NVidia posted that already, and I would assume other manufacturers will have close to the same release dates. 3080 Sept 17th, 3090 September 24th, 3070 October. NVidia sets the dates, so I would suspect that is the dates you can expect.

Honestly no one cares what NVidia is saying, we are asking EVGA for their information which they are not providing for some idiotic reason....

as much as i hate this scenario, i feel that the global pandemic has a part to blame, but that's also not holding anyone from being more transparent.
