It stands for Extended Video Graphics Adapter/Array

Now for fun, it could stand for Every Victory Guarantees Acclaim

There have been some interesting threads about this in the past. The original meaning of EVGA was lost in the past, so Extended VGA is basically what they've accepted. I'd link the thread, but it's lost in the abyss of archived forums that you can no longer navigate.

Actually, according to legend, it is not an acronym. It used to be eVGA back in the day. Then everyone got on the internet bandwagon and they changed it to EVGA.

Regardless it is always fun seeing this question every year so we can create our own version of an acronym for EVGA.

This is my understanding as well.  I remember seeing eVGA or eVGA, εVGAε-GEFORCE or e-GEFORCE (products), and εVGA (or something similar) years ago.  I think this is why there are so many different claims as to what it originally stood for; since it didn't originally really stand for anything at all other than e-commerce or electronic VGA (or something along those lines).  I would hope that you know what VGA is.

Many people have it partly correct.

eVGA.com was founded nearly 18 years ago, in July of 1999.  The VGA was obvious, because that was the primary product eVGA sold at the time.  The lower-case "e" was used as a means to refer to the growing online phenomenon for business and utilization of the PC and online e-tailer market.  At the 2005 CES, eVGA redesigned its branding and officially changed its name from EVGA.com Corporation to just EVGA, which it has remained since.

No other real acronym, however, although that hasn't stopped people from making up their own.

I've known for a long time what the letters actually meant but I've always thought of it as "Extreme Video Graphics Adapters". Lol I kinda dig that one. If I owned the company that's the one I'd go with😀

I thought it was that to. The E is kind of like etrade or other companies that to show they are online use E and VGA was to signify that VGA was the display technology of the time.
