If you’re looking for a list of all the confirmed Nvidia G-Sync Compatible monitors, then you’re in the right place. Below, you’ll find every AMD Freesync monitor that’s been officially certified by Nvidia as meeting their G-Sync Compatible standard, and we also tell you how to enable G-Sync on any Freesync monitor as well.
 
Ever since Nvidia introduced their G-Sync Compatible standard back in 2019, it’s never been easier to take advantage of a monitor’s variable refresh rate technology. This automatically matches your monitor’s refresh rate to the number of frames being outputted by your graphics card, ensuring a super smooth gaming experience with no screen tearing. Before Nvidia introduced their G-Sync Compatible driver, monitors fell into two categories: Nvidia G-Sync monitors, which required you to own an Nvidia graphics card, and AMD Freesync monitors, which (you guessed it) worked with AMD graphics cards. Now, though, Nvidia graphics card owners can buy an AMD Freesync monitor and still take advantage of the screen’s variable refresh rate tech. This opens up loads more of today’s best gaming monitors for you, and means you can take advantage of some of the better Gaming monitor deals out there, too.
 
I should point out, of course, that while Nvidia’s G-Sync compatible driver technically works with every Freesync monitor, not all Freesync monitors are necessarily G-Sync Compatible (with a big ‘C’). That’s because in order to get a big ‘C’ G-Sync Compatible badge, the monitor must have been tested and certified by Nvidia themselves. This guarantees that you’ll get a good G-Sync-like experience on your monitor free of any stutter, blinking, pulsing or other visual defects that can sometimes occur when inferior Freesync monitors are paired with Nvidia cards, and it gives you extra confidence when it comes to buying a new gaming monitor.
Some retailers have taken to calling everything ‘G-Sync Compatible’, though, so make sure you consult our list of Nvidia G-Sync Compatible monitors below to make sure it’s been properly certified by Nvidia and isn’t just a small ‘c’ compatible monitor. That’s not to say that you should steer clear of all uncertified Freesync monitors, though, as below you’ll find an extra list of Freesync monitors I’ve tested myself that worked just fine when I had an Nvidia graphics card inside my PC.

    My LG panel is FreeSync and AFAIK it is supported by NVIDIA and AMD.

    G-Sync Compatible is what happens when you realise that everyone’s got an Nvidia graphics card, but hardly anyone is willing to buy a proper G-Sync monitor. In all seriousness, though, Nvidia’s G-Sync Compatible standard is effectively a cut-down version of the full-fat G-Sync specification so that Nvidia graphics card owners can still get a variable refresh rate experience on cheaper AMD FreeSync monitors.
     
    You can technically enable it on any FreeSync screen by downloading Nvidia’s latest driver update, but because everything’s being done at a software level, the variable refresh rate experience you end up getting is highly dependant on the monitor in question. Some monitors can handle it without issue, but others can be disastrous, showing signs of blanking, pulsing, flickering and other nasty-looking artefacts when playing games. Indeed, out of the 500 or so monitors Nvidia have tested so far, at least 200 have fallen victim to these types of image quality issues.
    As a result, Nvidia have created their own certified list of official ‘G-Sync Compatible’ monitors (with a big ‘C’), which they say offer the best variable refresh rate experience out of all the G-Sync compatible (with a small ‘c’) FreeSync monitors they’ve tested.     However, since it’s pretty much piggy-backing off the monitor’s FreeSync capabilities, all G-Sync compatible monitors will still only operate in the same variable refresh rate range as their original FreeSync one. This means you won’t get the benefit of Nvidia’s 1fps threshold, nor do you get any of the other G-Sync benefits mentioned above either. All it’s really doing is letting you take advantage of the monitor’s variable refresh rate capabilities without having an AMD graphics card at your disposal.

    My Samsung monitor is FreeSync compatible by not Gsync compatible.  It wasn't on the compatibility list, but I figured it might work anyway.  Nope, lots of issues.  I was a little sad to find that out.  But then I forgot about it.  I don't know if it would really be a feature which I would use or notice anyway.  Maybe sometime in the future I will have the chance to find out.

    My Asus MG279 is also compatible albeit not on the list.
    Worked fine with BF4 & BF1 before upgrading to Ryzen, 2080ti & proper GSync monitor for gaming rig.
    However, I still use the old gamer as a backup gamer and for everyday use that my grandson plays Fortnite on with no issues. I do have to cap fps at 140 and enable Vsync for Fortnite to work well though.
