Hello ,

Do you have any recommendations for reliable laptops under $500? The users would be using the MS Office Suite as well as an ERP application. No need for more than 8GB of RAM. Would probably want at least 200 GB hard drive. We were testing chromebooks, which were working okay, but we would like to use a more widely supported operating system.

Any ideas, reviews, comments?

How do you plan to use the laptop? If you are looking to travel a smaller 13” screen can be nice but you normally don’t find a number pad on them if that is important. If you plan to not travel much then I would go 15” and if you don’t plan to travel much if at all 17”.

A lot of times people focus on processing power of a laptop when really if power is the key feature buy a desktop. People should be buying a laptop for its portability and functionality in that regard.

    Hello?
I like the bigger screen, 13" screen is too small.

Lenovo ThinkPad E570 or E580 are great laptops (15.6"). Newegg.com has the E580 for $549 USD. No, they don't have SSD's but they're easy to upgrade, we buy the ThinkPad's all of the time.

Some advice, make sure the mfg sells replacement batteries and chargers for the laptop. If they don't support the product like that, remove the product from your list.
