I am looking to update to a Rampage Extreme VI Encore MB with a 14 or 16 core processor and have some simple questions:

Critical.......
  • How well does this MB support Triple SLI? [There are rumours about stability issues and a major clearance issue at the lower PCIe slot where the GC WB overhangs the primary switches and several headers]
  • Is anyone out there running this with 3 x SLI EVGA Titan Black or Titan Black Hydro Copper? [Are they performing as expected]
  • Is anyone out there running this with ANY 3 x SLI EVGA GC which uses the same ‘Hydro Copper’ SWIFTECH Waterblock AND can you fit a Creative SoundBlaster ZxR above the 2nd large PCIe without fouling the GC Waterblocks, SLI Connector PCB & the ribbon cable to the additional soundcard daughterboard?
  • Can a  Asus ROG Enthusiast SLI Bridge (4 way) be adapted to fit the strange spacing on this MB with 3 x SLI?

Nice to know..........
  • Has anyone had any good or bad experiences with a standard EK-Quantum Momentum or larger QM ROG Rampage VI Encore D-RGB – Plexi Waterblocks?
  • Is it worth going for Quad Channel memory such as Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO Black 64GB 2666 MHz DDR4 (CMW64GX4M4A2666C16) or just two larger sticks?
  • Does this MB have issues with any particular 1TB M2 card or do you have any recommendations for a particular brand/model?

Thanks in advance,

Martin

Sorry for posting in that particular location, but will the new (more obscure) area actually get any views?

I actually joined your forum back in 2012/13, but cannot find my posts or account details (probably deleted as I  have not been back here for at least 6 years?)

    Regards,

X299 PCIe lanes are all about the CPU

Does that Asus MB have the ability to have 3 PCIe x16 slots with the hardware you want to use ?

    Thanks CoolGTX,
Using a Intel 18 Core i9 10980XE Extreme Unlocked Cascade Lake-X CPU/Processor, the Asus RE VI Encore MB Manual states:
    • 48-Lane CPU-(Intel® Core™ i9 10000 X-Series CPU)
    • 3 x PCIe 3.0 x16 (x16/x16/x4, x16/x16/x8 or x16/x8/x8 modes) *1
    • 44-Lane CPU-(Intel® Core™ i9 9000/7000 and i7 9000 X-Series CPU)
    • 3 x PCIe 3.0 x16 (x16/x16/x4 or x16/x8/x4 modes) *2
    • Intel® X299 Chipset
    • 1 x PCIe 3.0 x4  *3

This should give a better PCIe speed than my current Asus RE IV Black MB which is:
    • 4 x PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16 (x16 or dual x16 or x16/x8/x16 or x16/x8/x8/x8, black) *1
    • 2 x PCIe 2.0 x1
