Hello everyone, first time poster here ! So I have an RMA pending approval right now but i wanted to get some thoughts on this. The right fan started making this weird ticking/rattling noise that kind of comes and goes randomly. I have only found one other thread on this issue and the fix for that person was to push on the center of the fan.That temporarily works for me,but the noise ends up coming back within a day or 2. Sometimes the noise will even come and go all by itself which is pretty strange. Anyways, I was wondering if anyone here has had any experience or insight on this issue? I am trying to avoid an RMA if possible as i really don't really want to be without a PC for that long.(don't have the money for cross-ship) My other concern is, since the noise is so intermittent that it wont be there when they are processing/testing it,thus sending the card right back to me.

    Your fan or your "fins on the cooler" could be making the "rattle"
     
    Fans - are they clean ? are they vibrating ?
     
    Loose fins on the actual cooler ? at certain RPM may hit a harmonic & vibrate ?
     
    Look closely & confirm no wires or the plastic shell are not making contact with your fans

    I’ve double checked and nope, nothing at all coming into contact with the fans. Sound is consistent through all speeds as well. Only thing that fixes it is pressing at the middle of the fan, but the sound comes back after a day or so.

    Looks like I’m going to have to bite the bullet and RMA it.Also, sorry about the double post, it was an accident.

    If you like your current card ... and have changed coolers before ... do an Advanced RMA & swap coolers or Just the  fans

    Well I’m w secondhand owner, so an advanced RMA won’t be possible for me unfortunately. I’m just going to send it in for a standard RMA and see what happens.
