I tried what you said. Nothing has changed, I'm sorry.

Thanks. Do you know if your card is running the same vbios as your older card?

I used my first graphics card in PCIE 3.0 x16 (x16) slot for 1 month. Then my graphics card failed and was replaced with the RMA product. The RMA product did not work in the PCIE 3.0 x16 slot on the Asus Tuf b450 motherboard. It works on PCIE 2.0 x16 (x4). I thought the motherboard might be break down and I updated it. I bought a new Asus X470 Tuf Plus Gaming motherboard. It didn't work. My graphics card was still not working on the PCIE 3.0 x16 slot.

Yeah, I understand that. Your new graphics card could have come with a different vbios revision loaded to it. That new vbios may be causing the issue. If you knew your older cards vbios number I could help you reflash to that older version to see if it might help resolve the issue, but without knowing the older vbios revision number we won't be able to do that.

If you take the card to a friends machine and put it in the primary slot, does it work?

Thank you so much. Unfortunately, I'm too far from you.
I don't have a friend who uses the PCIE 3.0 x16 slot to test the video card.

Yeah, evga should be able to tell you what the older vbios version was if you ask them.

The VBIOS version should be written on a sticker.

See the left-most sticker in the image below. It says "BIOS Version: ....".

ASRock Z77 • Intel Core i7 3770K • EVGA GTX 1080 • Samsung 850 Pro • Seasonic PRIME 600W Titanium

Hello Sajin

I found my old graphics card pictures and compared them with pictures.
As a result, the Vbios versions of both my graphics cards are the same.

Hi, Sajin
I have tried something today
I removed the video card and erased the connection area with an eraser. Then I put the graphics card on the PCIe 3.0 x16 slot. It worked. But there are two problems. First, the graphics card runs at 3.0 x8. Second, to start the graphics card in the PCIe 3.0x 16 slot, I have to always delete an eraser. If I don't, the computer and the BIOS does not start when the graphics card put on PCIe 3.0 x16 slot.

I think the graphics card is faulty.

Me too, but it would be great if you could test it in another late model/compatible PC or take it to a PC repair shop for testing.

You can do a Standard Cross-Ship RMA so that you can keep your card for now and use it in the slot that it works in so you're not totally without a PC to use until a replacement arrives.

You can always Contact EVGA Customer Service again if you have any questions or need further assistance.

Have you ever verified that the card is seating totally straight in the slot? I'm thinking the case is preventing a perfect seating and it's a little off. Causing arcing at the gold fingers. I mean that's why when you clean them with an eraser it will work at first.

If you dont screw the card into the i/o plate, can you rock the card when pressed up against the i/o plate?

If so, you may need to loosen all the motherboard screws and try to shift the board around so the graphics card seats normal. Maybe just loosen all motherboard screws and seat the card so its flush then tighten the motherboard screws.

Worst case would be to just remove the mb from the case and set it on a flat piece of card board and install the card and try it. But that would be a pain.. but would of been done after all those issues.

Running at x8 vs x16 for your card isn't a big deal. The performance will be the same.

Hello guys,
I tried my gpu on another PC. The results are same. My gpu works PCIe 3.0 x8 under the load. But it worked the first time. I didn't need to delete the card with an eraser to work on the PCIe 3.0x16 slot.

Hmm. Did the other computer have anything else in its pci-e slots? Did you test the card in the first pci-e slot on the other computer? The card should have ran at x16 in a pci-e 3.0 x16 slot.

No.There were no other computer hardware on the PCIe slots.
I have tested my gpu on PCIe 3.0x16 slot. I mean first slot. But it works 3.0x8 under the load.
I also opened the RMA for the motherboard again. There may be a conflict. I'll buy a different motherboard.

Hello there
The computer I tried my graphics card was HP Z2 Tower G4 Workstation. The computer I tried had an M2 SSD. Could this cause the PCIe 3.0x16 slot to slow down? Maybe there's no problem with my graphics card. Anyway, I started RMA for my motherboard and power supply.

Have you contacted HP? Their site is a mess trying to find out anything out regarding their motherboards and compatibility issues. A common problem when trying to update OEM systems.
Also, if you tried the GPU on another system and it still only shows x8 speed, RMA the GPU. The fact that perhaps the other board is a bit more forgiving in initializing the GPU, doesn't mean the GPU isn't at fault. Without knowing the other model of motherboard, we can't tell you if it should be x8 or x16 with a M2 drive. You have the same exact error condition on two boards with the same GPU. The conclusion should not be change the power supply and motherboard it should be to RMA the GPU first.

Nope, as the Intel C246 chipset comes with 24 pci-e lanes on the PCH. You said there were no other devices installed into the pci-e slots, so the m.2 would be using pci-e lanes from the PCH, and not the cpu.

Same VideoCard and Same Bios except I am using the Slave Bios, (did you try it? in case primary is corrupt) but both work fine here..... * or do after they sent me a "retail Card" instead of a Refurb* . I am not sure why but TechPowerUp will not accept this as a valid Bios for this Card (either bios).

However I am wondering why GPUz seems to show that the card is Using a Microsoft Basic Graphics Driver not the latest Nvidia one ? ( ie 430.64)  not sure if that's a good reason to not use PCIe X3-16 or not....???
