Good idea for someone who can re and re and not leave a mark..
I would probably get it sent straight back...No Warranty For You!
 
Ps..It even warns you in the email if it has superficial damage on the outside it will be sent back...
Or something like that..

If its under warranty RMA is your best bet.
 
I know you've said you'd prefer not to lube, but I've prolonged the life of several fans using a high quality oil.   Usually you have to peel back a sticker to get to the bearing, which helps to keep it from attracting dust after you replace the sticker.  You want only a drop directly on the bearing - though its been a while since I've opened up a GPU and my cards are older so I not sure what you've got.
 
Alternatively replace the GPU fan or better yet improve the cooling in your PC case:

I have peeled the label to oil old case fans
But...
I have been watching YouTube video's.
You either have to drill a hole in the plastic behind the label (without damaging the bearing) or you have to pry the fan off to lube it. (and all the parts go flying)
We will see if I have warranty

I used to do it for an old GPU fan, but that was like 7-10 years ago.  Kept it going until I eventually replaced it.
 
But like I said...my hardware is a bit dated these days so trust the man with the hardware in his hands.

I had a Heat pump that was making noise while it was running.
Old Keeprite unit that was about 10 years old and I pulled the little cap off, on the top of the fan, and put some grease in it...
Quieted right down and lasted another 22+ years(33+years total).
The furnace blower motor, of the same system, was replaced by me. When I installed the replacement blower motor I added a tube to access the bearing closest to the fan in the squirrel cage.
That motor ran over 25years..That motor got saved when we upgraded the furnace.
Used it as a portable to ventilate areas we were working...In an emergency I was used it in our guest house, when we needed one to get us by till the new one arrived...it eventually died..but I had the new one on hand..
Lube is important, should have access built in to all electric motors, but we need to keep the economy going so it isn't.

Asus changed my RMA email to the new serial number..
Just have to follow through

So I pulled the card and one of the fans bearings are definitely shot.
Sent it off the other day and I noticed my daily PPD hasn't dropped..in fact I think they went up...
Didn't want to start a new thread about trivial stuff but I will be raising the bar some more...
New 3080 FTW3 Ultra Gaming LHR gpu sittin in the box waitin for me...been busy with other chit to do...lol
Might not happen for a bit..
Doctors want me to go in to the hospital to replace one of my pacemaker leads....fun stuff.
Last time I had a lineup of beautiful young nurses wanting to look at my temporary pacemaker attached to my GROIN...dirty old man emoji...NO Kidding!

TechPowerUp has a full selection of video card ROMs so I suggest swapping the mining ROM with the factory ROM so that the card works properly with EVGA Precision etc

Ahhh!
The case is the only thing "mining"
All of the other hardware is used for folding
I believe ROM's, and everything else, is stock on all graphics cards

Well the DIY filter construction will take a little longer

 
and I got my RMA back....NOT Exceptable..Fedex...
I schooled Fedex and I schooled Asus...

Well..... looks like your RMA was supporting a pallet of bricks before they played soccer with box. I hope the contents survived......

Never left Fedex with the box...box never left the scale...said my piece and walked out!
Parking lot phone call to Asus...after a few moments and some pictures they agreed to get it back from Fedex.
I will school Fedex again on how to treat a customer that they have "accidentally" damaged their shipment.
I used to deliver "Just in time freight" for Alltrans and on delivery of a carton, in that condition, you offered to open it in front of them before they accept delivery...in case they wish to refuse it...
that is part of "Customer Service"
Asus is stepping up..we will see the end results...
 
edit..the leads were noisy and giving issues and they replaced pacemaker at the same time..

reminds me of a glass sided case that FedEx wanted to deliver, all the broken glass sound as the driver walked down the side walk .... I said just put it back on your truck.
 
I'm just happy I was home at the time to refuse the damaged delivery
