VR seems to be a popular trend and Google is showing that they are going with the flow in my personal opinion.

    Looks exactly like google cardboard except it's plastic. Judging by the picture, it looks like they will be using the same size lenses which is the biggest let down. The field of view is very small. They need to use a fresnel convex lens that are bigger.

    Uh Google, hello? Have you forgotten about your Google Glasses project or did you silently end it? This'll end up like that project anyways. Forgotten over time.
