Hey all

It's been a while that anything new came from my end so here a topic in this section of the forums since well its my first EVGA FTW item as well,
So to bring EVGA it's self some compliments when it comes to packing hardware even if it's VGA cards Motherboards or anything else;
I took pics of the entire unboxing so hopefully you will like this pics from beginning to end!

Lets star shall we

After opening the transport box this is what you see. AIRBAGS!!!

Under the Airbags you see bubblewrap :)

And once shoving the bubblewrap aside a bit things start to become clear what is in this box of goodies:

There we go and hello there!

Here's the box in the shrink wrap top view:

& rear view:

Here without the shrinkwrap, gotta love the steel like art on the box, well done guys :)

Also love the Chrome like letters you guys guys, really brings forward the product's name

After removing the sticky tape from the box and sticking it on the inside of the box's cardboard and opening up the box side flap;
EVGA neatly places a Cyan colored Please Note Decal, this tells you what to do if things don't go well:

Once I neatly and carefully removed the innerbox from the outerbox I made this shot:

Here I opened the innerbox and found a folder with the EVGA logo printed in the cardboard

Slowly I go on revealing the EVGA GTX 1080 FTW2 iCX and some other contents:

Then after unpacking everything else they added a full size poster some stickers a metal case bad manuals and Driver CD:

Here the EVGA GTX 1080 FTW2 iCX, some other extra PCI-E Power cable splitters.
Plus the inner box I took apart from it's protection compartment, all well put together:

After unpacking the VGA card it has this protection decal covering it, keep in mind to remove this before use!
It's on the top  of the card along the sides with the LED Logo's are and on the backplates so here three pics I took revealing where these decals are placed:
Top:

Rear:

After removing those protection decals here's the piece of art it's sell;
All behold:

EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 FTW2 iCX PCI-E 8192MB 256Bit GDDR5X Rev.A2 1708 (Year 2017 - Week 08)
Thankfully I could see the PCB ate through the rear part of the backplate's E that is above GE from the GeForce GTX 1080 Logo!
Such details are important to me, to comepare with other cards in my Graphics Card Collection

Topview:

Rear view:

Here With my 2012 Favorite Kinto Spinosaurus resin model aka Mai Lil Speeno

Here the Headshot with that Speeno:

This a Tribute to my EVGA GTX 680 SC Sigs from 2011, made this my wallpaper as well
Which was this one if some of you remember

Here the EVGA GTX 1080 High Flow Bracket with the in & outputs:

Top angled:

Rear angled:

Also note that it's backplate is in two halves

Underside cooling view:

So then a Floofles came to see!

And Speeno joined as well xD

An Acro also decided to come see, the message was clear
Yes EVGA I have Returned

Now I need to build it in my system, thought I'd make the topic first xD
And not to worry no Dinosaurs were harmed during this photo shootout
Here a nice tune to fit this feeling of awesomeness

Here a closeup of the EVGA GTX 1080 FTW2 iCX it's self

And I have to admit this GPU is so much faster than the GF100-375-A3 I used before it haha omg...
So here the final touch <3

And here the entire system it's self and the specs to round this one up

    Nice. That's a massive tower.
BTW, what case is that ?

The case I use is the Lian Li TYR PC-X2000B + Lian Li W-X2000B Window kit.

The case I use is very rare as it is about 1 of 200 sold worldwide, not really sure of there were a bit more or a few less.
The Successor design had fewer adjustments and was made for mass production and that model became the Lian Li TYR PC-X2000F even the wndow kit is slightly different so I really needed the window kit that fits my PC-X2000B, that was quite a big hassle.

And I had to buy the window kit at Sidewinder Computers & Cooling in Miami, Florida, USA because everywhere else they were sold out they had two left over and I only needed one.
They shipped in in two boxed the Lian Li box in a flat box and that in an even larger flat box with loads of new papers which id di read  fun to read news papers from other countries.
And it arrived scratch free after traveling well over 7000 miles to my place here in The Netherlands

The reason why I chiose this case was because it's not only a collectors item but also I loved it's different looking design yet farmilliar looking shape
My Addtronics 7896A Server Tower is not much different as shape goes and desig likewise:

Here I had TYR PC-X2000B next to the 7896A:

    their rears:

Their components showing, side panels removed:

the system on the left is my Dual Intel Pentium !!!/EB 1Ghz with the ABiT VP6, 4x 512MB PC-133 ECC Reg
The one on the Right is the one I am using now only back then it only had two 8 Core AMD OpteronMP 6140 D1's & 4x 4GB PC3-12800 ECC Reg HP Server Ram
The R9 290X in there as well all that is long gone.

    Now it has this config:

    Valkyrie SMP 2014

    2x 12-Core AMD OpteronMP 6180 SE D1 Mangy Cours, 24x 2.5Ghz, 2x 12MB L3
    Supermicro H8DG6-F Dual AMD SR5690 / SP5100 Chipsets
    4x 4GB + 4x 8GB PC3-12800 ECC Reg HP Server Ram with Samsung & Hynix BGA Chips 24GB Quad Channel DDR3-1600 @ 1333 Per CPU
    2x Noctua NH-U9DO A3's
    EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 FTW2 iCX 8GB 256Bit GDDR5X Rev.A2 1708 (Year 2017 - Week 08)
    Auzentech X-Fi Bravura 7.1 PCI-E
    2x Intel 2Gigabit Lan Jacks
    1x Nuvoton IPMI 2.0 / 1Gigabit Lan Jack
    1x Corsair Force3 240GB SATA III SSD
    1x Plextor PX-B950SA BR-RW Single Layer, Dual Layer & DR-3D BR-RW Supported
    Lian Li Tyr PC-X2000B
Lian Li W-X2000B Side Window Kit
    SeaSononic Platrinum-X 1000 Watt 100% Modular PSU
    Hewlett Packard ZR24w 24" S-IPS Panel - 16:10 Aspect Ratio
    Max Resolution & Refresh Rate: 1920 x 1200 x32 @ 60 Hertz

    Windows 7 Pro x64 UK + SP1
    NVIDIA ForceWare 382.33 WHQL

Next Upgrades will be  these things:

    3x Angelbird Wings PX1 PCI-E x4 M.2 Adapter

    oo ok. Nice setup.
Didn't realize you could use team red and green together.
Btw, you should consider upgrading that monitor..to 1440p or 4k. ( I chose to steer away from 4k till a single card can push at-least double the fps's )

    PC Specs:
    CPU - Intel i7 7700K 4.2Ghz to 4.5Ghz
    Cooler - Corsair H100i AIO
Motherboard - Asus ROG Maximus IX Hero Z270
    RAM - 16GB G.Skill Ripjaws V Series DDR4 3200Mhz
Video Card - EVGA GTX 1080 Gaming iCX
Physx Card - EVGA GTX 1070 SC Gaming
    Storage - Samsung 512gb 850 Pro + 2TB Western Digital Caviar Black
    Monitor - ASUS PG278Q 144Hz 1440p + Samsung 32" 720p Above main
    Keyboard - Logitech G710+
    Mouse - Logitech G510 RGB
    PSU - Corsair 1500i
    Chassis - Cooler Master HAF X 942

Because I am neutral, a very rare thing these days.
    As I love both AMD/ATI & NVIDIA, even I fave 3dfx the most with Matrox & S3
Thus being I collect Graphics cards not just biassed to one bran, this stands in my living room:

This thread here will give you are far more in depth detail on that VGA Table's history and what has been in it:
    https://forums.evga.com/FindPost/2030876

It's that I love all existing options which is sadly AMD & NVIDIA, they are all we have now even I wish there was a third competitor like Matrox or S3, they been around since the late 1970's.
As for that Red Team sticker, that was a high praised gift from a good friend actually, it's not something I can remove and I will never remove.
So I prefer to stand open for all options thanks

So can I mix things, yes I can as I have no issue on who has what.
    As for monitors maybe a HP 30" S-PVA Panel simply because I don't like 16:9, I only do 16:10 panels I want a Monitor not a TV, I use 24" HS-IPS Panels now I lobe these,
When I play a good single player game I forget the format tbh,  a big screen can be nice but then again that are expenses I prefer not to put money in to now, I want to invest that in some of those Angelbird Wings PCI-E M.2 Adapters and 3x 1TB M.2 SSD's for Sorage I am more of a Server workstation guy over a gamer so nah Iam fine with what I have for nore monitor wise.

Haha thanks man, yeah they are also a hobby of mine  alongside collecting scasle 1:200 diecast airliners & 1:72 diecast jetfighters
Well it's been a half a day I used my 1080 FTW2 and so far no bad things yet, been playing Fallout 4 with the Ultimate Texture pack and it does look nice no odd Blue LSD trees either, seems that I am finally healed from that mess

Everything I throw at this VGA card it just gets the job done no compromises!
it's just an amazing piece of technology

Kept waiting for the sudden but inevitable betrayal by the dinosaurs like any Firefly fan would.

The TV show Firefly had a great part about toy dinosaurs. Herbivore and carnivore were getting along in a Land Before Time way until the sudden but inevitable betrayal. Really a great show that Fox decided to cancel way to soon since they hate sci-fi.

Oh damn I gotta check it out them sometime, thanks for explaining I do love everything Dino related, as enjoying the JP/JW Series even they aren't accurate,  Raptors should have feathers even Rexhad them, but them being movie monsters doesn't really kind of matter to me.

Well that is the idea, I do give them a spin as well every now and then, their capacitors & resistors can dry out if not used long enough.
So sometimes I use them every now and them, keeping them alive and in healthy status Which is why I have so many Retro O PC's that I also have renovated and still put in great use
    That are these beauties:

Aye I know that feeling..that feeling of being forced, yeah that sucks man, well I luckily have parents that saw the reason for me doing this even I have my own apartment now, space is kind of cramped there is where I Store all the systems I don't use every day, but I can always grab one if it's of need:

Top right against the wall: Stealth 2001
Bottom right against the wall: Sveta 2002
Bottom left against the wall (with shoes): Avenger M99
    Top foreground: Sveta SMP 2003
    Bottom foreground: Gradinko SMP 2000

Also note my Compaq S710 17" CRT there, always comes in handy for them oldies
