all right get it colder crew I decided to sack up and go the bong cooler route after seeing nates results the water chiller is just too much money just a few questions for nate. What sort of pump do you have do you think a mcp655 will do the trick if not what do you suggest. Since your temps dont go below ambient there is no need for moister control right, and I can keep my rad in the line that will not hurt will it dosent really matter either way I suppose.

that 655 pump does it ALL.  you may or may not get better results if you are using a legit waterblock, and you actually use water in yours.  I am not using water for mine.  The chiller costs a chunk of change when you add up all the incidentals like insulation, and hose, fittings etc.  At least you don't have to sub zero prep with the bong cooler.  I would love to know if 16° idle/38° load is a good temp for a stock i7.

ya I get 32 idle and around 50 load with all stock settings so id say those are pretty dam good have you tried to see how the bong handles voltage

NICE!  so bong cooler works!  but also realize that I have a few pounds of pure copper involved in my CPU block.  Yes, POUNDS of copper involved in it

But I forgot to ask, what is your cooler that you are using now that gets your 32°C at idle?

Never mind, I just looked at your mods rigs page,  a Zaleman air cooled.

Thats an old build I think its 4 pcs back I have a water loop now but I just busted my 360 rad changing a fan so now I only have one 240 with cpu and 280 in the loop but it does allright. My office heats up like an oven too. Oh yea as far as the noise from the water in your bong alot of people use ping pong or wiffle balls to try and help.

Just ordered a Classy e760 from here, and was able to use my 99 EVGA bucks on it. Woohoo!

Also, i think i found my ram: http://www.frys.com/product/6057188?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG
Ignore the picture, it is wrong. They are actually the tall heatsink ones; this is the exact same kit: http://www.newegg.com/Product/NewProduct.aspx?Item=N82E16820104132&cm_re=kingston_ddr3_2000_6gb-_-20-104-132-_-Product

Kingtson DDR3 2000mhz 9-9-9 1.65v. Only $170! I found a great deal on them. They are $200 at the egg.

I can't wait to get all my stuff!

EDIT: Dangit, the ram is out of stock at my local Fry's...now what?
EDIT 2: I just called my local TigerDriect. They will pricematch Fry's on the ram!

I have the Mag 5 version of that pump it's like a fire hose, my mcp655 doesn't even compare....the mag7 will be outrageous .

If you get it remove the impeller cover, apply a super thin layer of silicone sealant ,wait 10 minutes till it skins over ,and reassemble.

These pumps are notorious for drooling at the impeller cover.

By the way, I bought mine from marine depot also.

nope, its just a hair smaller then 1/2".  in some cases it works really well because of the tight fit on the 1/2" connectors.  Harder to get on the fittings, but when you do, in most cases you don't need clamps the fit is so tight (id use clamps if your still not comfortable with it)

I know... I hate being poor while waiting on new cards.. I'm still kinda tempted to get a cheap SSD and put my win 7 on it.. And to sell my 295 fro a 5870.. But I dunno..

I had a small scare last night with moisture, but I caught it in time, so no problems.  I have my second 295 here with me at work so I will start taking my contraption apart and go back to the normal waterblock.

depends on how you look at it.  its primary function was never tested.  Its alternate function had GPU temps @ 50°C idle..  creeping up way past 80°C with minimal loads

Could have been worst, but the idea is to have everything running on plain water all the time, and only running the chiller during benching.

that's what i was doing before...used 2 radiators and ran the system...then would turn the chiller on for serious benching.
now i just run the chiller..lol

You know what bugs me about the HW bot thing, why do they disable the PPU.  I specifically bought Nvidia cards because they HAD phys-x.  Let ATI come up with something for their cards.  If that give Nvidia an advantage, then wouldn't that make ATI try to develop something to combat it?
