it's your power supply...you need at least 1350 watts..(and not because it's two years old...but because it never had enough juice to begin with)... your shy a few watts and amps....

example...test two...the explosion...that's about 1300 plus watts right there. i forget what it is near the middle to the end of jane....not to mention your bios settings....

That's what I thought John...thanks for the input and confirmation.  I went ahead and ordered the 650W TT GPU PSU.

Speaking of BIOS settings, I had to majorly rework them just to be able to eek out some more volts to the GPU's and stop my card's LED from red lighting.  It worked to take me > 31k for single card, but quads....well, like I said, system turns off.

Nate, That vcore is nuts....just nutty enough, I'll give it a shot!

Do you guys think the 650w psu add-on will be enough?

John and hallow swear by that power supply.  I would just swear by a single rail power supply.  At least if you buy an additional power supply, you have extra connections for fans, HD's pumps etc...

Well, I haven't had this before, but now that my OC's and voltages are much higher, the system just shuts down at the end of Jane Nash.  No problem with single card, but quad-sli is a problem.  217@1.56875vcore,  with GPU volts high enough to attain 815/1805/1220-50.

If I drop the GPU clocks and voltage slightly, it squeeks by with P45's runs.  Trying for P46k, obviously.

Could it be my 2 yr old 1000w enermax PSU not providing enough power?

If you have everything running on the one PSU, then pick up a smaller PSU and set it up to handle all the HDs and such. That should help get that little bit extra juice you need to get over the top.

Thank Mr. N, that's what I was thinking, but didn't want to spend the cash.  I'm thinking the 650w thermaltake gpu PSU like john and hollowen run...only $100!

I have one too to run help run my TEC chiller.... not very quiet but it is cheap!

If you want quiet, don't get a PC P&C power supply, thats for sure.  Sucker sounds like a jet, but its quieter then the air conditioners

I have know clue who that might be.    I can only read it in my email subscription notice.   Last two posts I have made were about me having an aux gpu in "get it colder" and  a quote +1 in the "i7 Stability Club" thread about including Xeons in the standings.

Looks my Thermaltake 650 watt gpu psu just quit on me for the second time... guess it doesn't like TECs.   I will have to check my email and see what kind of amperage those TECs were... I thought 6 of them were 12706's which are 127 couplings for 16v/6amp... so running @ 12v they should have been only 4.5amps.  The other 6 were 12709's which are 127 couplings for 16v/9amps... so running at 12v they should have been 6.75amps each x 3 = 20.25 amps.  I have three per PCEI connector so it should have been well under the 25amp per rail the Thermaltake is rated for.

The gpu psu has 2-8 pin pcie and 2-6 pin pcie connections.  You would think that that would be one 6 pin and 1 eight pin per rail... was I wrong in thinking that?  I have had two of the 12712 TECs per connector which are 9amps at 12v for 18amps hooked up on each connector before with no problems... do you think that the 20.25 amps was too much for it?

Too bad PC Power & Cooling Doesn't make a PSU like this... then you know it would do what it says... LOL... off to Micro Center to see if I can get a new Thermaltake!

*Note*  hope this doesn't piss anyone off!

PC Power&Cooling doesn't make something like that? The http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817703009  has a 60@ 12 volt rail, with the pcie 6 and 8 pins.

There's probably a way to get it...but it's most likely a once and done option...your cards will be toast once they finish (IF they finish)
