For LN2 Kingpin uses the super cheap paste's from Microcenter. So if you doing sub zero, anything  ceramique based should do.

Use MX-2 Nate, its a lot cheaper and performs within a degree of MX-3 if I remember correctly, but I know its close. OCZ Freeze is another one that is fairly cheap with good performance.

Forgot to mention. IC7 is a B*TCH to get off heatsinks\CPU's, and there noticeably "duller" looking after you scrub for 5 minutes to get that crap off.

Having dealt with the IC Diamond for a customers block, I don't like how thick it is, its practically like the same gray clay that evga uses on stock heat sinks.

I will probably go with the traditional Ceramique once this MX-3 runs out.

are you at a point where 1 to 3 degrees Celsius is making a major difference?

Thats what I picked up, the larger MX-3, and it was $25ish.  I get more then double the Ceramique for half the price.

Diamond will is only good to -45c where Ceramique is good to -120c. The choice is obvious.

I can tell you for certain mx-3 will harden under cold temps, I ran out of ceramique for my ln2 session and had to use some mx-3 I had sitting around.

I am scared to start benching again.  I am enjoying the lower power bills being lower then benching.  Plus summer is on the way, so the AC will be cranking and its just going to get ugly...

I'll drop the 920 back in at some point just to see what it could do under sub-zero.  Also, have to re-run all the cpu benchies with the chiller.

there is no joy... the tear-down is a suckfest, and doing it for each component... not fun.  But for some reason we do it anyway.

now you understand why i kept taking mine apart ever 30 minutes or so to check for ice and condensation. the longest part in my operation now is cutting the foam cutouts...and that is done by making a template using the eraser. one set of screws for everything. air/water/phase/dice. pull one off and set the next one in place. bolt down and ready for benching once again.

The P|n just put his 480 scores up on hwbot.  Now, those are benches!  I don't know why he would have skipped tri-sli.  Probably what nate said earlier...tear-down and all.  Bumped himself up a few worldwide ranks to 3rd overall points.

"Now those are benches" compared to the other 480 benches we've been seeing for the last few weeks.

I wonder what board will be the best all around(Single GPU, Quad/Triple/Dual, High clocks etc) in the next few months... R3E, Gigabyte UD9 or EVGA 762 Classy. Should be cool.
