Idk then... Ok, i started seeing a good bit of condensation around where the insulation for the pot and the insulation for the board meet, so i'm stopping for now, probably for the night. I have learned alot, gotten some good benches in, gotten good sub-zero experience, and now know not to buy 25lbs of DICE. I probably still have half of it left, and i benched for a good 5 or 5 and a half hours. At least it was only $.45/lb, so it only cost me about $12. I have pics, and results, and will put them up after i break down the rig and assess the condensation.

awalleyeguy This is what happens when I try to run pifast .hexus_pifast.bat The exe file runs but completes then closes. You need all the files extracted into one folder ...... you will get that error if you try running it in the zip file or haven't got all the files in one folder Cheers

Rabid.. there's a batch file you have to run to start pi fast. You have the right version....you're just starting the application with the wrong program. Choose the batch file

@Q: Ya i figured it out a little after Sniper told me it was a batch file. Ok, done for the night. I took apart everything and cleaned it up. I left the art eraser on the board. Should take that off too, to check for condensation? Also, i plan to bench this same combo again. If i didn't run in to condensation, i think i could've gone higher and faster. I was only at 1.575 vcore 1.28 vtt and 1.4 nb. Temps were very good though. With the system off, it was around -71*C; idle -60 to -65*C; load -56 to -60*C. Pics and results will come in a while.

At least your not using Rainbow gloves *COUGH* halo *COUGH* (kudo's for going the "safe route" and not using your hands, but I have rougher hands then u both -so I go free style and use my hands. I shoveled the small pieces with my hands. Notice how I said large pieces Basically the only time I used gloves was when moving the two large blocks I had. Im thinking next time about buying pellets. Its hard to chop up small pieces. Gahhhh. All this DICE talk makes me want to do it again the right way....

@walleye: The UD7 is supposed to be really good. But there is word on the street that a UD9 is coming out. Gigabyte used the UD9 to break the PCMark Vantage WR. @Nate: That micro block is lookin' mighty fine! Also, what are the dimensions of the mounting holes for s775 and s1366? I am thinking of designing and making my own cpu pot(s). Also, what would the best way be to connect an aluminum tube and a copper base? @Rud: Nice job with the DICE. I don't have the cajones to use it on my main rig (i7+Classy), at least not yet. How was condensation for you? Also, i am jealous of that pot. It has way more capacity than mine. But like i said, i have been tinkering with the idea of making my own pot(s).

There was condensation on the bottom of the pot, but that isnt anything to be concerned about since its frozen. Also, the eraser would have protected the actual motherboard. I used a lot less Eraser\Neoprene than you did, you shouldnt have ran in to a condensation issue. Its going to form, but rather or not it hurts your motherboard comes down to your prep work. Dont be jealous. That DICE run was on whim. But I had to do it yesterday because a video Im doing for school needs a clip of me actual running DICE. I'll do a much better job when I do it again. I still picked up like ~20 HWbot points for my submissions though. Didnt even run 32m Spi\1024m Wprime or PiFast.

Rudster816 Im thinking next time about buying pellets. Its hard to chop up small pieces. Just saw a guy on the food network tonight use dry ice to make ice cream. To get it in really small pieces, all he did was wrap it in a towel and hit it with a hammer. Food for thought

Don't waste your money on buying pellets if they cost a good bit more. I bought scrap chunks cause it was $.45/lb, compared to $.87/lb for rice pellets. I just smashed up the chunks in a big plastic bowl and it worked perfectly fine.
