nateman_doo yes, the lights dim. I left a vantage run going and went in to check on my wife a while ago, and she said when I got in the room, "the lights just got brighter" I joked and said my computer prolly crashed. sure enought I go back in... and Calico locked up. No vantage runs for at least a week... IM A DADDY NOW!!! My little girl! Nooooo !!! The beast has spawned a child don't feed her after midnight and don't get her wet. Congrats dude. ha! yea... I knew it as soon as the PC became self-aware.. she gets wet on her own. Maybe if I hook the chiller up to her, she can be overclocked, but it seems that you have to "Get her WARMER" instead of colder. im old?! oh NOOO!! boooo.

johnksss Whoa!!! Nice run John!!! Is that what it's going to take for me to break 8 secs... over 5 ghz??? I was trying last week and only got into the mid-high 8 second range. I have a W3570 coming in that has an unlocked multi so maybe I can get the most out of some Corsair Dominator GT 2000 memory... but really it's the cpu clock that drives the fast times in SuperPi. Is there a thread or sticky somewhere here for SuperPi or other benches? I know we have the 3DMark thread but man.. it cost a lot for those nice gpu's... I'm always concentrating on CPU clocks.

johnksss 7:42 seconds LOL... I guess I should have read further!!! Nice John! I WILL be bugging you after trying a few more runs when I get the time. I might wait till the W3570 gets here... but then again... it might not even be as good as the chip I have now. Man... I wish I would have never sold my 3849B018 and I fried the nice B168 I had in the PSU incident (I will never do that again... note to self *do not plug my tec chiller's pcie connectors into a molex/sata socket on a Corsair HX-850 psu*) ROFLAC!!! "rolling on the floor laughing and crying" It seems like there are no more good batches comming out lately? The only good ones are in the old blue boxes from my experience... at least from Micro Center.

thanks guys. thought i would take the time to try and improve my cpu scores, since i was always focused on gpu stuff. now i kind of wish i would have bought the phase change.... took out my 295's and put in a gt220 card so i could run some serious cpu test. and now i see getting it colder is making a bit more of a difference... will try to get as close to running a 5ghz superpi 32m run soon.

I could use a few pointers... I'm a noob at this. I've tried everything to get the Bclk up... but with this SLI LE board... I just can't seem to do it... or maybe it's the chip... not sure until I get my hands back on a Classified. Memory tweak suggestions anyone? I currently using Corsair Dominator GT 2000 cas 8.

nah, i dont think it's the chip. it's the system settings in general....one setting does not fit all situations from what i have seen.

If you want a phase change, you can get one for under 400, brand new http://www.frozencpu.com/cat/l3/g49/c415/s1047/list/p1/Phase_Change-OCZ_Phase_Change-OCZ_Cryo-Z-Page1.html I am thinking about phase change as well. This may allow for colder GPU temps, by having the colder chiller running only the GPU's. It is certainly easy enough for my to drop more dice in the chiller as opposed to phase change, but I have an idea how to keep from getting more Prestone soda.

that would deff make it colder faster...by having them split using a chiller and phase change. on this chiller and one gtx295...i can get a cpu score with no physx 28.9 on vantage and can run my system at 5 ghz 80 to 85 percent stable. trying to jump up a few places on hwbot now....single card. so with what i know and have now...phase change can have me in the 29 to 31k cpu range...speculation of course better take a read here first, before buying... http://www.tweaktown.com/...oler_tested/index.html
