If that already exists, what would be the point of me making one?

I mean, make a cooler for the Biostar 5770 or Asus 5750 that i mentioned, that has a similar design as the 4850 single slot cooler. I can't just take a cooler off a 4850 and put it on a non reference 5770 or 5750, let alone a reference card of those types.

I esentially want the best possible cooling for the 5770 or 5750 in a single slot - neither of them come in a single slot variant. And there are no aftermarket single slot heatsinks.

There are also 4 ram chips on the back, but that doesn't matter really.

I would think the challenge would be fitting a fan somewhere in there...

Would it be possible for you to make something that can hold the fan from the stock 4850 cooler, like in the pic i posted above (posting here again so you don't have to scroll back up)

I was thinking of trying to get a hold of a stock 4850 cooler and taking the fan out, have you make a custom heatsink, and maybe a custom shroud.

Well, i have a special little build in the works and i want the most powerful card i can get in a single slot, 7 1/2" - 7 3/4" long with power connector; but i don't want to show my design yet. I wouldn't need you to do the block now, but sometime in the future when i finally get all the $ to build it.

Also, that floor isn't mine. That image i found on google.

Ah.. msg them and tell them to refinish the floor!

The Doo shop will be shut down from 24 July, until the very beginning of October (around 2 months).  If your still interested in it, we'll talk about it then-but feel free to keep planning.

Been a rough month with my health, my brother passing away and moving. Was finally able to sell my 975 EE on the Bay and will be paying for and having my new 980x shipped later today. So I'm back but not in a big way yet. Things need to settle down a little more first.

Oh reggie. I forgot who it was that screwed you on that cpu deal till a several weeks ago. I bought a EK 760 Full mobo block from him and realized who it was when I saw his heat. He shipped the block but he bs'ed me on the shipping and ended up taking over a week to show up. Trust me that will never happen again.

Sorry to hear about your rough month. Saw your post on heatware a while ago made me laugh kind of I figured thats what happened. I finally got them to remove my one negative mark for that transaction. Hope things mellow out in your world and im sure a 980x will help you get back in a pretty big way wether you take your time or not.

Wow Bstock deals are crazy. With my EVGA bucks I could get an 8800GTS for free, or a 790i Ultra for $10.. lol. I'm officially tempted.

I will even post pictures of the entire process.  And yes... maybe even a How-to Guide.

Ask me why I don't have a 980X yet... thats the reason.  a hundred pounds of steel sitting on a home-made bench in my basement.

Well it's funny how life can throw yin and yang at you. Since my brother of 59 passed our family has regained the companionship of 2 long lost neices and nephews. One exits and one enters. It's the balance of life.

As for the 980x. So far I'm at 4544mhz LinX stable. Have already snagged 1 gold cup and getting started on more.

WTG Shock!

Ok, so i think i'm gonna need some help with some ram stuff. I was working on my q9300/EP45-UD3P rig last night. I am focusing on Superpi 1m and 32m, trying to get those WR's, or at least top 3. Frequency has only helped so much, and i think it is time i work on the ram. It runs stock 1:1 533bus (so 1066mhz) 5-5-5-15 @ 2.1v flawlessly. I was trying different timings and voltages last night, and couldn't get anything to work.

For example, i tried 1:1 ratio, 523 bus, with 5-4-4-15 @ 2.3v and 4-5-5-15 @ 2.3v. Both of them failed miserably.

What kind of stuff do i need to tweak (besides ram voltages) to get lower timings on my ram?

@rabid... if your running 2d benches your better off shooting for more mhz than tighter timings
????? or was it vice versa I cant remember now

Other way around I believe. I think timings really help in 2d.

From my experience, tighter timings is better for 1M, but you need more mhz for 32M SuperPi. Not sure about Wprime\FastPi
