RBIEZE

Phase is more efficiant then a chiller purely from the standpoint of parasitic losses.

A phase cooler basically only cools the CPU or Gpu, and the refrigerant compressor .

A chiller cools the cpu/Gpu, the compressor, plus all the insulated lines, pump,  and reservoir, which all add considerable heat to the system.

I think I might just go ahead and skip phase. Seems a bit expensive. I think WC is a better option for me, and also I can get my tek 9 + WC for ~$360. Add in a CPU pot for ~$200 and that's nearly a phase unit except this does more.

Might want to kick the AC in high speed today.

All you need is a lot of BTU's....  And a lot of insulation.

I have it down to 58 degrees in my living.

DANGEROUS HEAT EXPECTED THIS AFTERNOON...
HIGH HEAT AND HUMIDITY WILL BE SEEN ACROSS THE AREA AGAIN THIS AFTERNOON. TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO RISE INTO THE LOW TO MID 90S AND COMBINED WITH DEW POINTS NEAR 70 WILL CREATE HEAT INDICIES OF 100 TO 105. LOWS TONIGHT WILL FALL BACK INTO THE MIDDLE 70S PROVIDING LITTLE RELIEF FROM THE EXCESSIVE HEAT AND HUMIDITY.

I would be more concerned with overall power consumption.  More juice required for the chiller.

speaking of chiller.....in the end...it can be made pretty damn efficient.
for the guy with one vga/cpu/nb-sb/vreg.

i ran mine set at 98F (max being 99F) and it kicked on a few times in over an hour period.(running furmark 1.80) time chiller was on..about 2 to 3 minutes max. (gpu max temp was 52C)
when doing regular stuff...the chiller never kicked on..with even doing a bit more than regular stuff. room temp..about 80F.

do any of you guys remember what the thickens is for the thermal pads on the GTX295 dual pcb with a watercool heat killer. I know you guys have used 295's and the HK. Some one told me i can just use thermal compound on it but i don't know if thats a good idea on the ram an vregs?

.5mm will work just fine for that.  I also would use thermal compound ON the thermal tape.  It helps to keep it in place as well.

After looking the block over it seems to have been bent in shipping.  So I wont be doing much with it until i can figure out how to get it all straitened out. I dont think it can be saved but im going to give it a shot.  If I get it bent back right ill just order some pads from watercool and be done with it.  As well I won a phase changer over at RRtech and it should be shipping in the next week or so.  Any one here have any ideas as to how to make this work as a water chiller.  I have a copper tank and was thinking of  making a block and brazing it to the side and then mounting the changer head to it and chilling the water that way.  Is this some thing that might work.  I figure this way i can still run at normal temps when not benching and have no worries about condensation.

By the way what is the for under my name.

If I could find a use for titanium, I would certainly.  Its all over the place here, and I got nothing to do with it.

BTW, check out the new link in the sig

I thought u were using a 1/16 blade? And i assume you know 1/16 is .0625. Or did you get a smaller blade like 1/32? But that's .03125, not .02. hmm. 3/128 (.0234375)? That's closer to .02, lol.

Oh wait, are the copper walls in between each cut .02, and the cut is just 1/16?

I have both.  I have a .0625 blade, and a .02" blade.  The cuts you see are .02.  Just sorta eyeballed the distance.  was getting warmed up for another block.

Thats the CPU0 Vreg block for SR2.
