So what's the deal with the ACX cooler.
Actually louder than reference but not really that cool.

With that "many" decibels I would expect it to be hell of a lot cooler. I mean like the MSI is 3*C cooler but 11dB(A) quieter. 11dB(A) is quite a lot if you ask me.
So, an isolated incident? Bad TIM application?
Checked some other 760 SC ACX reviews and the noise levels look about the same as TPU's findings.

Also when are the 2764 and 2768 SKU's gonna be available across the pond in Europe? Only one 760 available from your site

Hmmm. This could be the culprit.

Didn't think about that earlier. Only the two bigger heatpipes making direct contact with the GK104 die.
Although the same applies for the Asus DCII..

Hey EVGA folks, what does the 760 FTW ACX cooler look like from the other side?
Will it have a heatplate like some of the other ACX coolers on other 700 series cards or will it be a direct contact like the SC ACX?
Looking at this picture it would seem it has a copper heatplate although that would probably be coated on retail cards?
Or are the high temps because of VRM temps dumped to main heatsink by that thermal pad? That adds cooling load so the fan would spin faster.
Hopefully the ACX FTW will have the heatplate and vrm cooling separated like some of the others have done (Gigabyte/asus/msi/palit @tpu)

wow don't like that at all, the 770 ACX cooler is a much better design

I can see why the 760 ACX was loud, neither fan is directly over the GPU, the GPU core is in the center of them which makes it run hotter aka higher fan speed.

Yeah well the 770 and 780 ACX coolers really do have great design.
And yeah, of course the 760 is a lower tier card so i couldn't expect a crazy amazing cooler. But what MSI has done? It uses the same TFIV Gaming cooler they have on the 770 except they have only reduced the amount of heatpipes from 4*6mm+8mm to 3*6+8mm.

It would be great if EVGA would at least tell us something about the FTW ACX model so I can know whether it's worth to wait for it or not. Currently using the iGPU of my 3770K so I'm not going to be waiting long!
