\sarcasm\ You guys suck, now my 460 SC is junk!  I want a refund, I hate you all!  Waahhhhhh!/sarcasm/

Sorry someone had to do it.  I'm glad all you regular owners are getting a little bit of a boost.  Yes I'm still a little miffed that they would do something like this, only because for me I probably would have saved the money had I known (yes I know it's not much but it still doesn't matter).  But at the same time, seeing as I love EVGA I'm happy they take the time to care about their customers.

So keep up the good work, and I'm sure I'll get over it.  Oh look a shiny penny, what were we talking about?

Not much to really complain about, the SC cards are still clocked quite a bit higher than the vanillas even with the boost. You still have a better card. I just received my SC EE 1gb and the vanillas getting a boost has no impact on me :) Good for them I say

So is it worth updating the bios for me? I have the 460 gtx 1gb SC EE. Does this update only allow the fan to go to 100%? The fan above 60% is really loud as it is.

Can't wait to get home and try this out. Thanks, EVGA. Hope you keep these cards in stock long enough for me to save up to buy another 460 for SLI.

How do I flash the SC version to my vanilla card?  Is there a command line switch I can use?  I have been running my 1024 EE at 800 core speed without issue since day one...

Thanks!

You can't flash different part numbers. You can flash the same so you get the fan speed unlocked and then continue to OC as you did previously though.

Yeah for the most part I'm just joking.  I'm only saying for me personally I probably would have just bought a normal one if I knew they were clocked a little higher.  Thats my only ounce of anger, but it's not enough for me to hate them or be upset that they did this.  It just goes to show EVGA is a great company that cares about it's customers so in the long run I win.

I think the GPU-Z will have to be changed to read the  Transistors  count, being it is a diff chip from the 100 as in the 465/470/480...I am going to leave the Bios as is no need to change it, just for a fan unlock, and being I don't over clock above what I buy...........CHEERS

BTW: But thanks anyway EVGA for the options to do so.

Think of it this way. The SC versions are higher binned then the vanilla version. So you should be able to oc much better then the vanilla even without the update. Plus what you would only save like 20 bucks.

With this new bios i have a better oc with stock voltaje ^^. Evolution of my eVGA GTX460 768MB "reference".

Stock 675/135/3600: P13806 / GPU 11615

New Bios + OC: 864/1727/4276: P16761 / GPU 14254

Maybe i can get more score with unlocked cores :) but in a few days jeje im upgrading my system.

With only the new bios, the gpu score goes from 11615 to 12233. Nice work eVGA! ^^

Guys how far do you think i could overclock with this? Would it be worth it or pointless cuz it's overclocked anyways or should i go for it? I have overclocked in the past. Done 2 GTS 250 in SLi. Now i have this and i am wondering how far i can go and never have problems and make gaming experience great for Crysis and dx11 games and more. Advice? I'm a very proud owner of this and i wanna thank EVGA for providing such an incredible energy efficient power usage i ever seen.

I am very very amazed how temps are on this puppy. I'm looking forward to get another one in the future and go SLi. I just need a better psu. Ain't in a hurry right now :D

Hey you guys EVGA out there

Could you make another Bios for silent freaks?
The free OC Update is great, but now, with the fan running always at 40% in idle sucks a bit.
Ok, it's still not loud, but it could also run easily at 30% in idle!
The temperatures shouldn't be the problem at all.
Before the update my temps were about 33°C, now 30°C.

So, i beg you to do another bios, because it shouldnt take you so long

errr...863mhz for a 768mb card isn't that insane lol, try that with a 1GB card! Also try maxing it out (tesselation: Extreme, Anisotropy: 16x) I want to see how it compares to my 1GB version (although I run 1680 x 1050). would be cool to see how hot it gets with those clocks in Kombustor or OC Scanner after a while, I usually hit 82C (@825 or so core on stock volts).

I obtain 800/1600/2100 in sli with a gtx460 sc.

gain 4 to 5 fps in unigine heaven more in crysis in avp.

Man Oh man I don't know if it's the extra fan speed and cooling or what the hell it is.... I couldn't get my cards past 850/1700/2000 EVGA GTX 460SC's with out putting my voltage up too 1.075.

That was on the old BIOS.... now I can get my card up way past that.... with only a small voltage bump.... SO far just a little bump and the fan up to 90% and now I am easily 871/1742/2000 and I haven't even tried that hard yet.

Thanks a million EVGA!

Just imagine 2 5850 killers for 2/3 the price..... possibly even more. I am never going back to ATI you got a customer for life EVGA!
