bill1024 Me? I am running 88 threads right now. Some have HT on and some do not. As far as how many total have all together. I don't know!!! 375 threads maybe? If I were to fire everything up at once with all HT on.
The NA power grid would have a brown out................ On a different note: I understand the Sprint 3 days...............Marathon? How long are these? or are these a "crunch at leisure" Strike Force deal like you folks have been doing?
Marathons are for the whole Year. See Link
What is Formula Boinc ? FormulaBOINC (FB) is a competition for BOINC teams. It is based on the principle of the Formula 1 championship. Starting in 2017, the competition is composed of 2 groups of events:
- Marathons: each project is considered as a "Grand-Prix". The 10 best teams on each project get a fixed number of FB points.
- Sprints: 20 events of 3-days throughout the year, according to the schedule of the Formula 1 championship. Each sprint will involve only one project. The chosen project will only be known 24 hours before the start of the sprint. The top 10 teams on each sprint are given a fixed number of FB points.
The teams selected for the FB are divided into three divisions of 25 teams. The distribution of teams depends on the number of active members (RAC>100) on each project.
Formula Boinc points:
- 1st = 25 FB points
- 2nd = 18 FB points
- 3rd = 15 FB points
- 4th = 12 FB points
- 5th = 10 FB points
- 6th = 8 FB points
- 7th = 6 FB points
- 8th = 4 FB points
- 9th = 2 FB points
- 10th = 1 FB points
The final goal of the Formula Boinc Trophy, more than simply being a new stats site with its winner [at the end of the year], is to promote competition between teams on all projects and not on particularly crediting ones. Each project having the same weight in this trophy, no project is more or less interesting than another. This should also help small or new projects at a time when more and more projects are joining the Boinc platform.
Thanks for the post!! I read this earlier but it was needed on this thread!! Apologies for causing a poop storm about Marathons and Sprints. But if you read (as I did and always do before asking a question) looking for how long a Marathon runs....................There is no information, None, ZIP, NADA, Nothing to see here, Information does not exist, Sorry that line is no longer in service, Dead End, you want whaaaaaa, does not compute. I read every page on Formula Boinc looking specifically for exactly how long Marathons ran. Sprints on the other hand state on same said site " Sprints: 20 events of 3-days throughout the year, according to the schedule of the Formula 1 championship." Easy enough.......... Thus, why I asked how long a Marathon ran. Apparently one has to assume they run the full year unless the question was asked and the answer supplied. Which it was and now I know, Thank you.

Sorry. The only way I knew Marathons are a year long is because we've (EVGA) participated in them before and someone mentioned it. I never scoured the FB site for the info. I have forgotten that not all active crunchers, were here in the previous years. Your "crunch at leisure StrikeForce" question was on point and that's the way we should approach these projects. We can't attack them all in a week or a month. I should stop over analyzing our standings the way I've been for the last couple weeks. However I encourage others to look at them from time to time. I hope this link is good for a while. A lot of useful information can be gleaned from it. We have a sprint coming up and hope we can, as a team, crunch it hard. I am glad you decided to crunch howdy, it's hard to bring folders over here and have them realize both causes can be done simultaneously. In fact you and a small handful of other folders are the reason I'm even here. Do you remember.

TBH, I never really paid attention to Formula BOINC...but I did get excited at the recent Strike Force mentality resurfacing. Makes it fun.

I think that is fair and you did post the info on page 1 I read it three months ago (on the FB site), but you are correct, there are a bunch of new guys that are really kicking butt in our little niche community and I deserved to to get slapped upside the head as I know this stuff - but for the guys here less than a year a re-post or like reference a link wouldn't kill anyone or violate TOS. Again - there is POTM, Formula Boinc, Pentathlon, Challenges and personal goals. I am trying to prioritize what to run and I know some others are like hmm what - we are running like a pack and that is where we will do the most damage. So I promise not to ask questions before coffee Edit - at least for a day or two.

By the numbers in the Marathon on FB ( FYI: Marathons run all year in Formula Boinc, Not like a Sprint that runs for 3 days ) There is a possibility that Crunching @EVGA could overtake meisterkuehler.de Team for 4th place. Bcav is by himself crunching more than their whole team at this point in time. The rest of Crunching @EVGA's production is the frosting on the cake.

WCG has been chosen as the Sprint. And could someone please check on how long these sprints last? bcav and Punchy please keep doing what you're doing there. All other multi-p's please jump on it. By coincidence I've had 15 cores on it since the start of the POTM to keep my GPU's company. It's a tough one to bunker.

That was fortuitous devlin85! I think we are doing a good job right out of the gate -I was a late starter on WCG but I am in this. Props to HK-Steve rolling over me like a 100 mile an hour 18 wheeler. Thanks for the high five man. Dusting off the tread marks. And props to the SF - strike force. robby
