I am going to switch over and bunker some moo and see how it goes.
Last time I ran moo it did not go so well. Going to try to run moo by it self with no CPU projects running.

Updated POTM in the sticky section

Bunkering isn't really necessary with this one although we should run it during the sprint. We hold 3rd place in Moo! in our league right now, 40 million behind 2nd and 20 million ahead of 4th. I don't know if Sicituradastra (4th) can make that up in 3 days but it's possible because they are a large team. If they catch us we lose 3 points and if we catch 2nd we gain 3 points. I took a screen shot at 10pm edt.

I am bunkering some but not all out.
I'm also in the middle of re-configuring some rigs in the name of efficiency.
It's been a busy May for crunching so far.

So with the 3 day sprint, is it a contest who gets the most points in the 3 days?
Or is it how far you advance and pass the team ahead of you?
I am not sure what this sprint is????

  • 3rd = 15 FB points
  • 4th = 12 FB points
  • 5th = 10 FB points
  • 6th = 8 FB points

Looks like the 100 meter sprint and the top 10 racers get FB points based on their position at the finish line.

Moo seems to be running much better on my computers for some reason.
I had a hard time with the POTM MOO, only difference is there are no CPU tasks running with the GP moo

The Marathon part is what I was talking about. It is true, we need a good showing in the sprint as well. I didn't mean we should sluff it off, sorry if it sounded that way.

At any rate here is a nice early update for the sprint.

And I still have to release mine.
Edit: link to the Moo! sprint

It's ok, I get confused easy on my ripe old age.

And BOOYAH to the early lead, hope we can hold it.

I thought I cornered the market on confusion.
If you click the link in my previous post you'll see AnandTech lining up a run at us. Many teams are running cpu's only, we need to stay frosty.

Fantastic, insurance points, we need them.
Yes it is, it will want to use multiple GPUs to work on one task. like SMP in folding.
I made an app_config from BillCs post so each card runs its own task. Been stable for me that way.
When moo was the POTM I had a hard time with moo. So if you run multiple GPUs on one task, keep an eye on it.

Thanks Bill, I ran POTM with no problems with 1 task per multiple GPU's, but will keep an eye on them,
thanks for the heads up..

Thinking, the big teams are running the pentathlon and forgot about this.
Or they maybe bunkering. They could make up points in a heartbeat too if they want.
Who knows.

The big teams are running the pentathlon and this on their back burner.
BUT the Pentathlon will end before this sprint is over, giving the big teams a day to catch us.
A couple two or three million PPD from just a few of their big guns can do it. They very well may be able pull it off.
I urge everyone to switch over to moo and get a big of a lead as possible.
We can not place in Einstein, and it sure would be cool if we could get some gold!
I know one big team is going to make a run for it.

Einstein gets such a backlog of tasks waiting for validation that even if we switch over now we will be earning credit for a bit longer. I'll switch in a few.
