Hello everyone,

This is my first post, but lately a lot of titles that I want to play with my 1080 FTW edition keeps crashing to desktop without any error. I've tried almost ANYTHING to fix the problems. but recently when i tried and closed the EVGA PrecisionX OC all my problems where magically gone! I could run all games without any crashes ?
BUT there's another problem, without the EVGA PrecisionX OC it seems that my GPU fan would stay at 0 RPM and as you though the GPU reaches very high temps very quick!

I'm still not sure where the problem is, my gpu ? EVGA PrecisionX OC ? Nvidia driver ?

games I had issues with : Battlefield 4, Rainbow Six Siege, Planetside 2, GTA V ... ect
Any thoughts ? thank you.

Sounds like you may need to use msi afterburner instead.

I dont have any issues running EVGA precissionX OC with Battlefield 4 and GTA 5 so I dont think it is precission X issue.
Try to install latest nvidia driver. Perform a clean install and then install precissionX oc latest version. Run precissionx as administrator.
With default profile fans sray idle bellow 60 degrees.

on another note. Is it possible that my card is a "bad" card? or defected? should I consider RMA ? or is this pure driver related ? how can I know the difference ?

Any help would be really appreciated !

Before you go an reinstall windows, use DDU *google it if needed* to completely uninstall any footprints of old drivers these can conflict with your 1080. It does more than the Clean install does, it will get rid of anything nvidia related meaning old footprints of precision X,old drivers etc. This should fix your problem and also try a different Pci slot to rule out possible faulty Pci slot :) Hope this helps!

I already did DDU.  I'm not to keen on the PCI slot change being that the my mobo states to use the top slot if only one card is in use. It does state it is connected at max speed.
I can do DDU again and see what happens
