My understanding is that the Associates Program is not fully dead. It’s the EVGA bucks that has been retired. You can still use the codes if you are or not an Associate member. You can even use your own code, if I am not mistaken (but correct me if I am wrong on this statement).

That’s correct. The discount is still in effect and Associates can use their code or another’s for a discount.

Please use my Associate Code at your checkouts for up to 10% discounts on all your EVGA purchases: VDN2319M4O569J4

Which does not make any sense at this point.
Just give the discount to elite members and completely drop the associates program.

Then EVGA is forcing everyone to become an Elite Member for discounts.

Or, just drop the MSRP and get rid of codes completely. As long as codes are around, there will be some chance that some new stupid abusive program will be announced, because they will feel that they need to make some sort of use of an otherwise pointless code, and the shilling and abuse will be back in full force.
"Abuse?" you say? Yeah, like EVGA promoting certain people's codes over others', for example, and some people cashing out huge. I don't know how that played out without more anger. Or all the spamming, jealousy, anger, and competition, as another example.

Yeah just lower the prices by five to ten percent would be a good idea.
I have no problem with that.

Somewhat problematic for EVGA to just cut prices for their direct to consumer channel.  Best Buy and their other retail partners would object.  Thus the need for the consumer to jump through the hoop of entering in a code.

Odd I didn't get any discount on my full order that I used all the bucks on. I tried the code and it said associates can not use associates codes.

Think my order cost me like $64 in taxes and shipping. But the good thing is I got the 850 sfx power supply for my second pc that's going in the 1000D case. And the 2x X15 mice.  Which at this time I am glad I didn't pay anything out of pocket for them. They are ok but they definitely do not like having 2 mice plugged in to the same machine from 2 different companies with their own led and management software. Finally cant forget the XR1 light Don't know yet what i am going to do with it but I am sure I will figure something out.

Lets just hope that EVGA survives this economic melt down and at the same time able to keep up the Customer Service. I fear though an industry consolidation coming.

@enewt That is a fact Jack. MicroCenter was advertising at a higher price then it showed as EVGA's MSRP I was told they would not support that price point. Low and behold that by time i made the 30 min drive home wouldn't you know it that evga raised the MSRP up to MicroCenters advertised price.

But in all honesty EVGA prices should be higher then the retailers prices. I know we all don't like it but when I was selling there product from my store its hard to sell at the same price at the time newegg and best buy were. Hell my authorized distributer by time I got the product at my store it was close to msrp.

I previously canceled my Associate Membership so I can use others' codes to get the discount. Now I can't seem to join the program again. The page stated that I have canceled my membership and doesn't give me the option to join anymore. Any help please?

At this point any code is a discount, you don’t need to sign up again.

That was the rule when the program still existed - if you joined up and then later cancelled, you weren't allowed to join up again. The reason was so people didn't repeatedly join and cancel in order to get the discounts AND the EVGA Bucks from other people using their code - you had to choose one or the other. When you cancelled, you 100% would have been informed that you could not join up again, and you had to confirm twice that you understood this rule before it let you cancel membership.

Regardless, as of June 13th, the program has ended. You can still use anyone's code to get a discount on purchases (including your own if you still had one), but the EVGA Bucks part is over. Please see the following page for details:

Any chance for allowing a 4090 waitlist for evga bucks users so we can use it on that? Personally I would rather have the new card than the cash.

Same here, but you’ll need to use your cash towards a new card after you convert. I’ll be holding onto my bucks until the last day just in case a card releases before then.

Problem is the cash is worth half the bucks are. So you could get a 4090 rather than a 4080. Just hopefully and will be doing the same thing as you.

Be careful.. last date to act on your EVGA Bucks is September 13th, but you need to have all the tax forms completed by then as well. Leave it to the last day and you may end up with nothing; "Payments will be processed not later than October 13, 2022". Also seems a bit of a gamble hoping for the 4000 series launch prior to September 13th, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯....

3000 series launch: September 17, 2020.
2000 series launch: September 20, 2018.
1000 series launch: May 27, 2016.
900 series launch: September 18, 2014.

Zero. EVGA made it pretty clear (link).

Also, if EVGA turned around now and offered that option, they would have a riot on their hands from people who already used all their EVGA Bucks up but would have preferred to put them towards a 4000 series GPU.

Tax forms? It's amazing how much money some people made shilling and slinging their codes.
I didn't need to submit any tax forms, because the only bucks I got were helpful bucks.

You have to wonder why a particular deadline date was picked over any other. I would assume EVGA has planned for the bucks not to be available when the launch happens.

The tax forms are required by Paypal, which is where payments will be made to if you choose to cash out rather than use the EVGA Bucks towards a purchase.

I wondered the same thing about the date, but no, EVGA advised June 13th is the date they began the EVGA Bucks program 19 years ago, so they finished it June 13th this year, and they felt 90 days was a fair and sufficient amount of time for people to make decisions about how they would like to use or convert their EVGA Bucks. They were not targeting that date to coincide with a launch.

I have to wonder about the September 13th date.. could that be when the 4000 series launches?

Yeah, I've been wondering that too. Either EVGA is trying to give everyone one last hurrah and the 40-series is launching by Sept 13 or the launch is no sooner than Sept. 14th and they don't want everyone's accumulated BUCKs going there. Better paying half of them out, clearing old inventory of other things, or getting a tax write-off for charity donations (I'm not advocating against donations to charity btw!) than losing income on the new products. Of course, only EVGA could actually tell us which side of the coin that is.

I realize people are going to speculate because of unofficial launch dates for unannounced products, but June 13th is the date we began the EVGA Bucks program 19 years ago, and we feel 90 days is a fair and sufficient amount of time for people to make decisions about how they would like to use or convert their EVGA Bucks.  No matter what date we pick, there will always be something unofficially launching in the future that makes it look like we're targeting, even when it's not the case.

POST 30 about TAXES

Which brings to mind the next question - will these cash payouts be considered taxable income and reported to IRS?

Any income from any source would need to be reported to the IRS as income.

With regards to taxes, here's what we have in our Terms:
  • Members who tender at least 1200 EVGA Bucks ($600 or more) will be provided an IRS 1099 form. This form must be filled out by participant and provided back to EVGA within 10 days to participate in the exchange process. As a reminder, all EVGA Bucks must be exchanged at once, and cannot be exchanged in partial amounts over a period of time. Failure to submit a complete and accurate IRS 1099 form will result in exclusion from the Program.
Anything below $600USD you would be expected to report yourself.

lol, you guys are funny.
Yes, I know about the taxes. My point is how much insanity you guys subjected yourself to for that payout. I understand the reasoning for the taxes and requirements, and very clearly stated that the thing I was laughing at you guys about is the amount that you stacked up exploiting this nasty scheme.
Yes, I know about the supposed reasoning for the date. I just don't believe that is the full story.

lol, you guys are funny.
Did you really need 3 replies and bold text to say the same thing?

So what was/is the point of your post exactly? Sour grapes?

I'm just glad all the useless spam and garbage "In stock 30 series" posts are dead now. It's funny that the minute they are no longer being rewarded for useless spam posts that they all virtually disappeared off the top of the 30 series forums and being bumped ad nauseum by the OP in a ridiculous attempt (and some would say underhanded way) to get people to use their codes so they get paid. The worst part is the people claiming they were "working" hard by just looking at what was in stock on the 30 series cards then regurgitating it in the forums. "wow hard work man, you looked at this page that like everyone else has to look at?" Amazing job

careful, improper use of the word "spam" not approved by mods will get you banned.

"This comes from the owner of EVGA and it will be allowed" as if the owner of EVGA is speaking to forum mods...

said by a mod just a few months ago, and boom, the program is now axed LOLOLOL. good riddance.

Hopefully the forums will return to being a place for information and conversation like they once were, rather than somewhere I largely avoided for the past year. Minor bright side, the whole situation is very much "this is why we can't have nice things".

If I helped you in some way, or you just think I'm awesome.. please use my associate code! It gives you a discount

I'm still here, same as I've always been. I notice everyone's 'selfless' amphibian friend and hero has not posted in 2 weeks now. Funny that.

The discount codes still work btw, there's just no associated EVGA Bucks.

@CraptacularOne and others, I will note that at the start of the queues it really was a lot of work - I know this because I was the only person maintaining all those spreadsheet queues for several months during the busiest period in the whole queue nightmare; unfortunately 98% of people just couldn't be bothered entering their info (or they were incapable), so I did it for them - primarily because I got a bit OCD over it, and also because I wanted to know exactly where I was in the queues, although later people started using my code so I definitely appreciated that, and I shamelessly promoted it - and I also paid it forward.

After a few months, everyone's little reptilian hero (who wasn't even a forum member until September 2020) started helping update the spreadsheets, which I appreciated. Then the spreadsheets were hacked by some idiot who thought he should not have to wait in a queue. Suddenly our reptilian friend created new sheets with the old data and shut me and everyone else out. Later I saw he figured all he had to do was update the most recent posted notification and queue time and avoid almost all the spreadsheet work entirely, but still reap the benefits. Smart, particularly with all the cheerful but humble 'I'm doing it for you guys' posts, and his little anecdotes and all the rest of the bs that came with it. Of course he feigned innocence the one time I mentioned it.

The fact that the program ended and suddenly the guy hasn't posted for the last 2+ weeks should make it clear what his priorities were - and it sure af wasn't the altruism that was repeatedly claimed.

Sour grapes you might say? Sure, a little, but I also have a dislike of backstabbing manipulative two-faced people.

I'm VERY thankful to EVGA for the program and people who used my code at the start, it made a lot of things possible for me that I could not have afforded otherwise, and I was able to help a few people out along the way.

And guess what - I'm still here.

I agree, even if I was part of that bs, and I apologize.
