I recently sent my 750w G2 for rma and am receiving a 850w G2 in return, I was wondering if it is trustworthy, as I have read that replacements tend to be factory refurbished and recertified, but are generally not new.
Thanks,

You get back the Same Product OR Better. Is their an issue or problem with it? Did it not come with ANY Cables? Could be as simple as they had no 750 G2 in stock.

I'm more wondering if refurbished psus are reliable, as for the upgrade I'm glad for that, so long as it lasts. I just dont want have another part affected by a fault in the psu, as my 980 ti died with my old psu. But thanks for the input :)

Do you really think that EVGA is going to give you a BAD Power Supply Knowingly? You still carry the Same Warranty on the PSU you received under your RMA.

https://www.evga.com/warranty/power-supplies/ Products sent in for RMA will be repaired and returned or replaced with a thoroughly tested recertified product of equal or greater performance. If an RMA is necessary within 30 days of the original purchase date of a new in box Product, a new in box OEM replacement will be sent to the Original Purchaser in return, subject to availability.

I got an open box 850W that is a G3 and haven't had any problems with it. It wasn't a RMA I just got a B-Stock but it's for an old computer. I personally don't mind using open box products. I would trust it as much as I would a new in box product and maybe even slightly more because I know that it was tested.

The following is in general terms and not specific to EVGA: refurbished > re-certified > new Refurbished means that the unit was tested and the faults repaired. Re-certified means the unit was tested and no faults were found. New means anything can happen, no testing has been done and that it's Schrodinger's product.

I am glad it has been working fine. It’s good you got an upgrade but 750w would have been good enough for most builds.
