As with All new tech; best to wait for quality reviews or only buy from vendors that have return policies that you can live with.

That's the thing though, VESA Adaptive-Sync isn't new. Been in publicly available products since 2015 and saw it demonstrated at CES in 2014. Also, a bit confused. Would you not also do that for any other tech you buy, not just "new tech"?

Nvidia is embracing it / integrating support - That is the "new tech"

How well it works has yet to be determined across the many monitors that are available & the 3 different levels that Nvidia classifies support + the  option to manually enable VRR

Yes, doing ones homework is always a good thing.  Marketing usually is too short on understanding technical implementation limits & how it works in real world.

Well for me I will take my monitor being compatible as a win, as i think Gsync is just marketing to sell people overpriced garbage.
At least with freesync its a open source technology and being the linux guy i am that makes me happy.

I have that monitor that is blinking. Its an LG. It doesn't blink when freesync is enabled. Maybe they have freesync on in the software but not on in the monitor. Or maybe they have the monitor refresh set to normal and not fast ( in the monitor settings). Maybe the monitor is set to 1ms response time mode and that's not playing nice with the freesync.
Anyways, can't wait to try it out on my 1080ti myself when the option becomes available.

Typically, when examples are shown in a convention setting there are reasons why they show certain configurations in a controlled setting to either put something in the best light or to discredit something. I think everyone knows what they are doing in this particular instance.

I was correct. I was able to recreate that flashing they had. They simply had the monitor in the wrong mode.

This isn't an issue with the (3)AMD cards I had, just Nvidia gumming up the works I guess... or their software ins't ready for prime time.

Any who, looks good and works nice now.

So how can I tell if G-sync is actually working?

Open the nvidia control panel, select the setup g-sync menu, at the top of the nvidia control panel select the "display" drop down menu and turn on the "g-sync indicator". Now when you play your games you'll see a message that says G-SYNC ON inside your games if g-sync is on and working.
