Looks like you're missing a pcie power cable

I only had two connected to test out if the red lights would go away, when i first plugged in the cable even if i only plugged one in, the red light would disappear corresponding to the slot. I had all three connected at one point and the rgb lights would turn on. Now the rgb lights dont turn on and the red lights stay on and the card isnt detectable on my pc.

Change any BIOS settings or anything else? Try re-seating the card, disconnect/reconnect all the power connectors - reconnect at the PSU if it's modular, see if it comes back. Still no, then try swapping in an old card or using onboard video if available. Barring those options, could try a CMOS reset, or re-seating the memory sticks, pulling them one at a time, etc.

There could be any number of reasons it won't POST, have to try to narrow it down, may not be the card.

I also have a asus 3070 that i plugged in to see if it could be some other component that was the issue, the 3070 worked fine. The only explanation would have to be the card.

I don't know why you would test out if the red error lights would go away by not giving the card enough power?
Double-check that you are connecting the PCIe cables from the power supply to the card correctly.  It's best to connect 3 dedicated PCIe cables from the PSU to the card.

Isn't this the classic symptoms of the gazillionth dead EVGA 30 series card?

In this case its just the result of using 1 daisy chained pcie cable on a card that requires 3.

Having already replaced a PSU which did NOT test bad in any scenario except running this new 3080FTW3, posts like these fill me with apprehension. And there are many of these posts...
Can't wait until mine goes from blinking the screen black once or twice an hour, to fully dead with error LEDs.

Did you have any issues with your 3080 FTW video card since posting this 4 weeks ago?  I've seen a lot of posts about issues with the 3090 cards, but not as many with the 3080's.

That's what I thought also as soon as I saw the picture.  From my understanding, there should be one separate PCIe power cable per connector on each video card.

How many bad EVGA 30-series cards have been reported and what were the issues?

It's become a real shame that scalpers and miners are getting their hands on all of these cards when the rest of us just want ONE.

If you read through this forum you will see multiple threads with people saying their 3080 and 3090s have died and they have 1 red light showing over the power connectors. The general consensus seems to be it being a power imbalance and that EVGA skimped out on a poor quality voltage controller I think it is. EVGA have been very hush hush on this and are just RMA cards hand over fist. Some folks have even had to RMA their replacement cards.
