What one seems to do better when overclocking. I currently do not have them linked and currently is set for priority power target. I know in the past having it set on temp target was better if you were watercooled and ran cool. I just got a evga 1080 Ti FE and under water i max at 40c.  So would i benefit from switching? Just starting to find my max oc.

Thanks for any insite.

Since you're water cooled, temps shouldn't be any kind of issue and hopefully you'll never hit the power target with it set to the maximum.  That said, I would set the priority to the temp target seeing as you should have no risk of ever getting close to it.  In other words, set it to what you're least likely to hit...

    My .02 cents...

I know this is weird but I am finding having them linked and going to power % makes it run alittle more stable.

I run about 39c after a hour of stress tests.  But having it set to prioritize temp over power makes the power percentage go up quite a bit, I was seeing spikes around 121% and some instability at the same OC's where i have prioritized the power %. Also when i put priority on the power target my power percentages go down to the low 100's instead of in the 110-120's.

Just thought Id add this in here after doing some testing with games, heaven and benches.

Changing the priority shouldn't make any difference when running the same game or bench.  Running different games or benches will show different power percentages & temps as the GPU gets loaded & used in different ways.  Not so much on temps in the case of using water cooling.

Personally, I don't care for the word "target" in those settings.  A target suggests something you're trying to achieve, where in this case it's something you hope not to hit.  Power limit & temp limit is better terminology in my opinion for what those two settings actually do.  Hitting either one of these two "targets" will cause the clock speed to be reduced.

It could just be something weird with my pc. But the way i have it set now it downclocks less and i see the power target hit 121% where as with the other settings it would only get to 118% and have lower downclocks. When i have time ill do some benches with both plans i use.

I have an Asus GL502. It is a great computer, but some of you may know, it overheats. I don't know how to cap the frames, but I downloaded Evga. Evga Precision wont allow me to set a target temperature or target power. I believe I need to use vltage controls. I don't know where to find it. I just want to set power and temp targets. I ran my cpu to 92C playing Fallout 4plz help!

My suggestion would be to start your own thread to get assistance on your issue.  If you do, list all your system hardware so other members are better able to help.
