On the spreadsheet it looks like 3898 moved 3 seconds today which I guess is 3x the progress from last week.

Hopefully enewt has some later reports.

No, I wish the top of my case could fit a 360mm radiator & 280mm at the same time.
I'm going to be doing a wonky setup once the Kingpin arrives, basically gonna have a radiator chillin' half out the top of the case. lol

TBF I love this case though, it's awesome.  And I'm planning on going to a full custom loop for the CPU after I get the 11900K/eVGA Z590 Dark setup in the next few months.  Once I do that, that radiator will be on the front of the case.

how bout swapping the two rads as they are now when you get Kingpin card?
Edit-like put gpu at front and cpu top

Won't reach.  The front of the case is too far away for either of them to reach unfortunately.  That's why I'm planning to do an open loop for the CPU at some point soon.  That will eliminate the constraint currently with the CPU AIO (because it's an older Thermaltake model & the tubing is extremely short, 350mm or less, it just barely reaches to where I currently have it mounted).
In the mean time, I'm going to orient it so that both radiators are up top, horizontal, hanging out of the top of the case.  It's a temporary solution that will insure both the Kingpin & the CPU are getting good, cool air, and not interfering with each other's airflow etc as much.
I was going to go ahead & do that rearrangement with the current GPU but my Kingpin order finally coming around Wednesday (minus the debacle talked about a few posts ago) put a hold on that, don't wanna have to do that twice, since it'll require mounting each radiator to it's own holding bracket (the case comes with 3 fan holding brackets, 2 are intended for side use, one is for the top, I only use one on the back side for a single fan over the hard drive/SSD areas to give them some airflow, because some air is better than no native air movement, especially for the 2 mechanical drives I have).  The GPU radiator being a 360mm once the Kingpin comes in is going to make it look a bit janky, but when it's all said & done, it'll be pretty optimal and I should be able to set things up so that dust isn't too big of a concern for inside the case, but I'll have to clean the two parts of the radiators that won't be inside the case more regularly until I get the CPU open loop, which will probably be around the same time I order the 11900K.

But at least for the moment, it's a pretty organized mess:

Caught it at almost the right moment where all the fans were synced, close but no cigar. lol

Folks, apologies, for tonight's summary, I am going to have to ask you to check the google doc I post (normally I try to recreate it in the body of a forum post).  I am in the middle of putting out a fire drill at work and my family is begging to have dinner with me...so, triple-booked for the moment...and I have to delay the forum post recreation.  I will get the forum post up later tonight (probably in an hour or so), but if you need immediate satisfaction, please check here:  North American Queues Summary

Thanks for your understanding (apologies, again, to folks on mobile devices that may not have good format choices for google docs).  Have a good night, a great weekend, and see y'all unlucky folks (that didn't get a card yet) back here on Monday.

Apologies for the delay.  Here is the forum post version of today's summary.

Overall Friday was a day of modest drops. The 3090 FTW3 Ultra, despite it being a straggler drop, continued to make progress...if only all of the queues moved like it is moving….

Have a great weekend.  Get away from the hunt for a bit.  We go again on Monday.

So...would it be prudent to assume that since best buy just had a drop, we should check other places for a potential next drop??

EVGA queue base totally sucks as much as your production which is why unofficial lists have been created as i been on it since October 8 now list since December on the kingpin 3900  i now 31 on the list for that

Re: New EVGA.com Notification Checkout Process 2021/01/22 22:23:28 (permalink)
New SKUs have happened and will always happen in this order.  Regular cards first up to the FTW3 branch, then Hybrid cards come later, and lastly the Kingpin cards.  Kingpins are pre-tested to hit a certain speed guaranteed, and those dies that cannot hit that are put back in to the pile for 3090 FTW3s or so on.  Part of the reason the Kingpin queue is moving more quickly is because it's a super high end card (in terms of price and demand), so there's less demand for it... and, keep in mind, from what we understand, there have only been about 500 made so far...
Compare that to the movement on other queues where it's likely launch HOUR (not day, HOUR) had THOUSANDS of people sign up & purchase, and that's a big part of why they're moving much slower.  They're in much higher demand because they're cheaper & were launch-day cards.

And then there's the SKUs that basically don't exist.

Bottom line, NVidia is 90+% at fault for all of this, they don't have enough supply for a single AIB partner I'd wager, to actually fulfill the orders they have, let alone all of them - which is why some SKUs are seeing a trickle, and some SKUs do not exist, AIBs like eVGA, Asus etc are prioritizing higher-profit SKUs because they still have to make money somehow, and with supply of dies being an issue, they aren't making the same amount they normally would from a typical launch, because less supply means less sales.

Simple math really...

And to the person who flagged my picture-post a spam: get a life.

I was lucky enough to be able to purchase my second (and last) 3080 via BB today.  This time it was the FE and it will go to my brother in-law.  I'm holding on to my last queue position until I have the card in hand next week and then will cancel the notification spot.  A sincere thanks to the community on this thread especially Nereus and Enewt.  Good luck everyone!

I am happy for you, but I am otherwise VERY FRUSTRATED! My app notified me of at least 6 or 7 restocks on bestbuy.com today, and because I'm working nights I slept through them all. CURSE YOU NIGHT SHIFT!!!!

I might have snagged one too, because all my stuff is saved in my best buy app, and I can check out quickly. It's how I got my 5900X when Microcenter let me down.

Seriously, though. Happy for you! Best Buy and Microcenter are really coming through for customers and have delayed raising prices as reasonably as they can. I plan to support them with future business as the need arises.

I totally get the frustration.  Like most people waiting to get a card I've been on the hunt since launch day F5'ing all sorts of sites and in the EVGA queue.  I wish I could attribute the cards that I managed to get to my skills and clairvoyance, but its just dumb luck.  I have my gaming computer running next to my work computer and had the BB page open with the search results so it was just me glancing over at the right time and seeing the Sold Out boxes turn blue.  I really wanted to get my cards directly from EVGA to support the goodwill they've shown customers by the queue, and for the 5% ..now 3% ... discount using an associate code.   I'm looking at getting a 5900X as well but I need a break from this madness

It truly is madness. I've seen releases of high demand stuff before, but usually everyone eventually ends up with what they want. I eventually got an Xbox 360. I eventually got an Xbox One X. In fact, I was able to just buy them when I dang well wanted at reduced prices. I eventually got a good deal on my 1080ti hybrid and rocked that card for a long time.

This extreme though? Nah, that's a first for me. Here we are multiple months after launch, and according to my math of what I can observe, at least, the VAST majority of folks wanting new GPUs still don't have them. It is sad on many levels. I am grateful I have something to game on, at least, but I really feel bad for the folks that don't, whether because they're getting into it just now, brand new, or had their previous card die. I know some folks are really needing something for the PC and a GT 710 just won't do what they need...

But Nvidia is doing a great job taking care of the elite money-making miners.

I wonder how many 3898's dropped to get the queue to move three seconds. 50? 100?

For what it's worth, someone I know who is in Taiwan right now said that 30XX series cards are equally difficult to obtain there and the retail price is higher than it is in the US.

On the spreadsheet it looks like 3898 moved 3 seconds today which I guess is 3x the progress from last week.

Hopefully enewt has some later reports.

Sorry to disappoint; three seconds was all I found today.

So if the 3898 continues at this rate I'll get it in 18.5 months, I think. Sweet! 🥲

Right around the time the 4080 is launch, noice. lol

Considering how nvidia is milking it beyond insanity. I do not think the 4080 will be even be out this year lol.
I mean, 2060's are out again at a price higher than 3060's...

There is a lot at play here. Covid makes many shut ins so chips for cpu's, gpu's, tv's, cell phones are in high demand.
Mining coins has taken off 1 mh of hash earns 7 cents a day  A 3060ti card does 60mh mining so it earns about 60 x .07 = 4.20 a day and burns about 4 kwatts a day to do it. Even at 40 cents a kwatt you burn at the most 1.60 usd a day.  So 4.20-1.60 = 2.60 a day profit at worst.

So any one here that buys a 3060ti is going to get quite a rebate if they mine when they sleep.  Lets say at 12 hours a day the worst you do is get 1.30 a day back, so in a year a 3060ti is a free card. If you have cheaper power and mine the card 16 hours a day it pays off in under 250 days. If you build a gaming/mining rig in a big case with 2x 3060ti
mine 24/7 with 1 card and mine 12 hours with the other they are paid off in under 225 days.
Coin price may stay very high for the whole year as many large investment companies are buying coins due to inflation fears. This very unique set of economic circumstances.
Thus demand for the 3060ti is huge. Miners want them gamers want them. This carries on to the 3080.
The 3090 is a power hog and costly so mining demand is less.
The 3070 is more money than a 3060ti and mines at the same level as the 3060ti so demand is less.
The kingpin costs a lot same lack of mining demand.

Nvidia could have made a fortune if they stockpile chips and sold at least close to the demand.

meanwhile the 3060ti moved 3 minutes to 7:16 I am at 9:30 maybe I get it in February more likely march.

Agree, there will be no 40xx series until there is incentive to produce it.  Between the demand for the 30xx series, AMD's GPU situation and widespread COVID immunization looking at late 2022 into 2023 I can't imagine seeing a 40xx series anytime sooner than September 2022 and possibly kicked to 2023.

On a somewhat related note, pertaining to PSU needs for the 3080 specifically, I noticed someone mentioning recommending a 850w PSU.
Eh.

750w is more than enough to keep you in the good power range of a gold rated psu for even the craziest 3080 uses. 3090 not sure but probably still within that sweet spot of 60-80% usage.
TLDR if you're going to spend more money on a PSU, first upgrade from bronze to gold rating, then go up in wattage. Unless you're running multiple overclocked gpu's AND overclocked top end processors, even a 650w is going to cover you for 90% of your usage, but might as well go 850 to never think about it again.
There's plenty of reasons to go with higher wattage psu's, but for most users running a 3080 with some lightweight OC going on in their systems, you're really not going to realistically draw more than 500-600w from your system, so an 850w is just kinda pointless.

For the record, I've worked with building computers for videogame dev companies for the past 10 years. There's plenty more qualified people than me to talk about this stuff but I have a good gist of what I'm talking about- Feel free to counter me though, if you have better knowledge :)

The EVGA cards seem to have "special needs" when it comes to power supplies....to the point where there's a thread here listing which PSU's have the secret sauce that works with them.

there's not necessarily demand for 30-series specifically. just demand for new cards in general. if the 40-series were released, the demand would shift to those instead. people will want what is newest.
