Many thanks to EVGA for implementing this to get cards into the hands of consumers instead of scalpers!

Having a way to see where we are in the queue would be nice. However that is probably difficult to do given privacy concerns. Or at least see how many are actually in the queue, not necessarily position.

But if not I’ll just continue to twiddle my thumbs. So tired of this entire thing.

Awesome!
I just set up a timer on my phone to go off every 4 hours in the event i got notified during over-night hours.

Even if it's a couple month wait, at least I know I'll be able to purchase one of these now when they're available.

Thank you again guys for setting something like this up to ensure actual buyers/users are able to snag one of these fairly.

It would be nice, but I think as things progress we should start to get a feel for how quickly the line is moving.  Putting this into place is already going above and beyond.  I signed up back a few weeks, so I'll definitely post if I get a notification.  Hopefully others do the same.

Re: New EVGA.com Notification Checkout Process 2020/10/06 10:25:03 (permalink)
Jacob, I posted this question a few pages back but it's unanswered. Posting again because I'm concerned about being detected as spam since i may have signed up with multiple emails before the queue system was in place.

I have two EVGA accounts by accident, this one I'm posting on is a really old one I forgot I owned and I have another newer one made last year. I have signed up for notification emails on 30 series last month to both emails however, just to have redundancy for email notifications (different domains). This isn't going to disqualify me for the queue system is it?

This is so awesome.  I imagine that they have already thought about all of the suggestions/comments that we are making, and are working to implement any of them that are feasible.  I havent used an EVGA card in years, but I can safely say that I will be using them from here on out.

Does anyone know when the FTW3 auto notify went live? I don’t remember if I did the day it came out or before that. I wonder if most FTW3 going out will be non ultra or the ultra version.

I saw a couple folks earlier in the thread ask about how the notification system will interact with the step up program for those who are in both queues, but I must have missed the answer. Do we have any guidance on this yet?

My plan is to use EK watercooling for the 3080 FTW3. Will we be buying cards before companies like EK get theirs (thus delaying their waterblock launch)?

Re: New EVGA.com Notification Checkout Process 2020/10/06 10:51:11 (permalink)
Is the EU market not big enough for EVGA? We don’t get stock, and we don’t get the queue system for a while. .

I have different pre-orders in the biggest retail stores, none of them got any cards aside from the handful on launch day. Meanwhile multiple US stores were restocked more than once.

The store Alternate for one, one of the largest computer part sellers here hasn't had a single EVGA card.

EVGA - Is your focus only on the US? Because I only see posts about the US stock, never EU.

Re: New EVGA.com Notification Checkout Process 2020/10/06 10:52:23 (permalink)
So I guess most people are probably curious, but what's the queue like and how quickly do you guys chew through it? I think it's interesting that the internet appears to be completely in the dark on the points of manufacturing speed, and what the demand is. If you're in the bubble of trying to get a card, it feels like the demand is a million cards, and supply is like....2,000, globally. But we just have no frame of reference whatsoever.  Is it NDA stuff? Have you just learned that oversharing only makes things worse?

Haven't seen this clarified so ....

If I get the link to the XC3 and buy it, does that drop me off the FTW list?

Like is the 1 per household per card or per GPU family?

Re: New EVGA.com Notification Checkout Process 2020/10/06 10:57:17 (permalink)
Hi Jacob. Really glad that EVGA has put this in place. I've gone from trying to actively track drops to now just waiting for an email from EVGA. WAY better.

You all have definitely gone above and beyond what any other company has tried to do, so kudos and thanks!

That said, it would be cool if you would add a way for us to see where we are in the queue, or get some kind of an idea. I don't mind waiting at all, now that I'm in a line, but it would be nice to know when I'm getting close so that I can be ready to respond the email immediately.

Thanks again for implementing this solution!

Its limit 1 per card.

does "per card" mean per model (3080 vs 3090) or per sku (3080 XC3 vs 3080 FTW3)? there seems to be a lot of confusion about that. it's better to be very explicit in responses that could be interpreted in different ways to avoid such confusion.

I do also think it would be good for folks to be able to confirm that they are "on the list". you don't have to say our place in the queue, just something like "notifications are enabled for this product and was entered on <insert date>". that would placate people's fears about not being on the list without divulging any numbers or queue position.

Another silly question .....

I take it EVGA is making sure people in line are not the same people/addresses/CC that have already received a card?

Like, are there manual checks to try ensure are BOT overlords aren't mixing among the peasantry ?

So there could be cases where someone was quick and signed up to every card on day 1, that person theoretically will get multiple first in line emails to buy one of each card ?  they are not going to be re-shuffled back on other card queues if they decide to make a purchase on the first?
