Hey guys, it's me again. Sooooo after some fortuitous circumstances, I was able to trade the 3070 Ti I got for a 3080 Ti so my wait is officially and completely OVER. No more anxiously awaiting launches and drops. What a rollercoaster it's been over the last few months! Of course this means that instead of my buddy getting a 3070 Ti, he is NOW going to be able to have my non-LHR 3080 for $50 under MSRP. Needless to say he was excited I would be able to get him ANY Ampere card at all originally, but now he is absolutely ecstatic. When we talked to him, he was practically jumping up and down in joy! So after all this time, I am done looking for the next step to take and can enjoy my (scorching hot) gaming goodness in peace at last. If it's alright with you regulars, I'll probably still be around trying to answer questions, chat with you, and watch the queue progress.  But only if you want me to. Otherwise, I can just lurk  Sorry for the long off-topic post, everyone.. I have just been overjoyed all day and I knew you guys would be able to understand what a big deal this is. My wife thinks I'm just being a tad dramatic  Thanks to all of you guys (Enewt, nomoss, Dabadger, KTA, SQ, BYG, and others [TRULY sorry if I didn't list you here, these are just a few that come to mind quickly but I love ALL of you regulars - please don't hold it against me :/ ]) for keeping me sane the last few months and from being overwhelmed with disappointment. This community is incredible. Good luck to all on your GPU Journey and may the wait swiftly come to an end for us all.

able to bump out someone who was in line for the 3080ti long before you even got on the 3070ti list.that really sucks for those 
who didnt get on the 3070ti list.im earlier on the 3070ti than the 3080ti so it appears i have an advantage over those on the 3080ti list

He never said he got it from the queue or the step up program. He might have gotten it from another retailer and traded plus cash to someone else. Im giving him the benefit of the doubt lol.

Lol I actually remember that post now. It was like 2 in the morning when I was scrolling through, so I was a little out of it.

So I am still clocking evga 3070 ftw3 some have now sold at high 900's for new sealed item from a 'good' seller
 
So prices are dropping for the 3070's it lists at 689 on site  so under 1000 vs as high as 1800-2000 less than 2 weeks ago means demand is dying on the mining end. This card earned as much as $13-14 usd a day now earns about $3.60.
 
In both cases that is pre power cost.
 
I am now thinking scalpers will be unloading these lower this whole week.  991-998 vs 1800-2000 is a bit drop.
 
At 991-998 scalpers will not want to bother selling them.  Since they paid 689 plus tax. mark up is low.
 
If you have Patience and like evga ftw3 led colors clock the 3070's on ebay 
 
I made some offers today under the 991 low for the week .
 
If I were to get one from the queue here I would pay about 742.
 
I will keep checking cards out.

Yeah ebay charges them like 12.5 percent on the price + shipping, so if something sells for 1000 and costs 800 it would cost them say 125... real profit about 75.  Ebay and amazon make most of the profit unless they hyperinflate prices

I'm sure we've seen a very rapid decline in demand from miners.  Although mining is continuing, much lower (but still profitable) payouts will likely result in most miners hodling gear but not adding to it.  Hot summer weather will increase electricity costs for cooling, causing some to bail out and sell older, less efficient cards.  Declining pressure on supply will cause prices to moderate further, which should stop most scalpers from buying. 
 
By the end of Summer, the queues might get cleaned out!
 
 
 

One can only hope im inching closer to the 3070 ultra and im at 645 for the 3070ti so ill have to decide which i would rather have when my time comes. Anyone have either and can give me their thoughts?

Honestly it looks so wierd having that Micro ATX mobo with a GPU bigger then it mounted into a case that big 😆🤣

You're absolutely not wrong, I just didn't want to invest in a new MOBO because it does the job just fine and my CPU is also plenty lol I was going to wait until I eventually need a new CPU and then I'll upgrade the MOBO at that point. It doesn't even have enough USB-C headers for my case XD I only have a mATX MOBO cause I originally had an actual mATX case. One day, I will learn and invest in a custom loop :D

Congrats dude, glad to see another regular get their card even if it was through other means.
That guy sounds really sincere and you're right we don't find those people often, but I like to believe there are many out there just waiting to help.

Thanks :) I feel like I've put enough work into this thread to earn myself a card through other means ;) I agree though, after seeing so many bots and scalpers over the last few months, this did a lot to restore my faith in humanity.

Thanks for the nice words. I may have wrote once or twice, I have a very dry sense of humor and I’m frequently misunderstood so it’s nice to know it’s not always lost :).

The part I kept in the quote is probably true for most of us. If that fails, there’s always the tried and trusted, “oh honey, I’m keeping it for a friend.” Been known to work on everything up to a vehicle. 😬

Well your sense of humor clearly works for me so keep it up XD I told my CFO what you said about "keeping it for a friend", she laughed pretty hard about it so there's a second fan of your work for you :)

We’ve gone through months of ups and downs. Hundreds (thousands?) of “how do I know my position” posts. The euphoria and horror of new SKU launches.
When 30xx is over, and this thread is no longer extant, still we will think back to the days when an informational post by Jacob led to thousands of pages of joy and loss, heartache and laughs. An era of salt and honey. A time when getting flagged for spam was a red badge of courage.

Your comment almost brings tears to my eyes. I couldn't have said it any better myself, friend. We've all bonded through our shared experiences and it's people like you that are the only reason I was able to hang on for a card for so long. It was not the step-up program. I didn't actually bump anyone out of line. I was going to give the 3070 Ti to a friend of mine who has been hunting for a GPU for months to complete his build. I actually ended up connecting with someone who had gotten a 3080 Ti from Micro Center because that was the only thing they had when he went but he wanted a different card. I chatted with him and he worked out a deal so my friend ended up being able to get my 3080 instead of a 3070 Ti and I was able to get a 3080 Ti. It ended up being a win for both of us but don't worry, it had nothing to do with the 3080 Ti queue or the step up program. So I think that should make you less unhappy about the whole situation? I think you just misunderstood what I had said originally.

I got the 3070 Ti from the queue for a friend, but I ended up being able to trade it and cash with someone and give him a 3080 instead. I had asked him which he preferred and he wanted the 3080 so I sold it to him below MSRP. Hopefully you don’t regret giving me the benefit of the doubt :/

Thank you for coming to my defense! I’m just glad I was able to help a friend out. He’d been searching for months and had absolutely no luck with online drops. Funny story, actually. We had told him I might be able to hook him up with a card. When we let him know that it was happening, we were like “Do you want to come pick it up later tonight? Tomorrow?” And he was like “HOW ABOUT RIGHT NOW?! IM HOPPING IN THE SHOWER”

Wait the two months before you pay scalpers... then decide whether or not to give them your money, depending upon how fast the queue moves. Either way, you lose nothing as compared to your original plan.

Which cards has been making the most movement in the queue?

Things have slowed down pretty much across the board in recent memory, but the ones that jump out to me were (past tense) the 3897 and the 3987. Those have both managed to make it a few days past their launch dates. The 3987 had a few drops that moved it over 24 hours. The 3897 was cruising along until the 3080 Ti was about to drop. Were you interested in a particular variant (i.e. 3060, 3070, 3070 Ti, etc.)?

Give it some time to see what the queue movement looks like. It's really too early to try and gather any trends from the drops. It's only really had two or three drops and that was right around the time the 3070 Ti was also prepping to drop. The movement may have looked solid at the get go due to EVGA's stockpile in preparation of the drop and might completely slow down or it might continue chugging right along. Either way, like staypuft said, you could wait a little bit and see what happens. It does also seem like Ampere card prices are lowering a tiny bit as more listings go unposted on there. Whatever you decide, best of luck on your search, mate! Hopefully you are able to find a card soon :)

I hope this helps stop scalping of products. It is really such a shame so many people buy and just resale products. If I was the CEO I would implement something. I am hoping this will help the situation. Of course, people will probably just make a bunch of emails and use robots still. If I was CEO, I would make the card only work on the system of the purchaser for a 1 year time limit. Or use some digital technology like ilock to help curb all this scalping going on.

Ok, im in a lot of stress right now. During the launch day of 3080ti i rushed to website trying to get in que as elite member but website was down, finally it managed to open up, but got redirected few times in the end resulting me in evga.com instead of eu.evga.com, i noticed that only this morning AS theres no que possition on eu one, only on evga.com for the gpu that i want. Am i screwed ? Tried looking for support links so i could contact them directly to ask if they can change it but it's nowhere to be found. So did i just lost my chance in getting a gpu?
