Happy weekend, everyone. I haven't had much to contribute since waiting in the queue is rather void of activity, but I was encouraged this week from the movement of my particular queue (3987), along with some of the others. I've had some personal things going on, and dreaming about our hunks of metal is a nice reprieve. I very much still appreciate enewt's daily summaries, and I look at them every day! May all of your waits be shorter than you think! Best wishes.

I have yet to receive any notification. Hoping it happens soon.

Well.  Date you joined the forums doesn't mean much.  It is an indicator, but I was joining queues months before I even realized there were forums to post to.  That said, you seem green as hell - I at least read the forums for a few days before posting.  Do some reading, get an idea of your wait times.  Then come back and talk about waiting for your notifications and how soon you hope it happens.

* Also, could we stop flagging as spam people who ask questions who are new?  I get it, some of it is annoying as heck.  Great!  Thanks!  Love this!  Responses to nothing in particular are dumb.  And it crowds up the forums when 100s of people are doing it just to hit that elite status.  For this guy, he went from 4 posts to 9 in the time it took me to update this.  He's probably got his spam gloves on.  So what.  At least he used full sentences.  Give new people a little bit of a break.  Save that spam button for random thumbs up posts or for people trying to share their art with others.  Ya know, the worst of the worst.

I think it's clear that most people responding to no one in particular are new mobile users who are confused (rightfully so) by the inexplicable "reply" button at the bottom of every post, which does not, in fact, reply to that specific post. Would be great if that button could be removed; it's completely useless. Or, replace its functionality with that of the "quote" button.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the community spreadsheet ☺️. I hope you all get your card soon!

Holy cow, what did I miss?

I think we will see greater numbers of drops for the 3070Ti & 3080Ti than we've ever seen on previous SKUs.  I also think that we had substantially more day one queue entries than we've ever had before.

That said, if you're 26 minutes out, it's almost certain that you're not getting a card through the queue within the next 2 months.
I do hope I'm wrong, though.

The queue for 3080 Ti has moved 18 minutes in one week...

With the website problems on that launch day, I don't think it's going to be a good comparison for movement.

One unit per sku. So by signing up to multiple queues you have the chance of buying up to one unit of each of those skus. Otherwise, no. It doesn’t affect anything.

Yes, I was about to type the same thing. And that we have 3090 HC on the other end of the spectrum. A walloping 16.5 seconds of movement in TWO months! (Well, almost, since April 15th)

Not sure what the website issues on launch day have to do with it.  However, it is possible that it moves 18 minutes in one week and then never again.  But, given that this product line will likely continue to be produced and the regular 3080's are in question, I'd say that anyone that got in at least within the first couple of hours should be good.  But, then I look at those September queues...

True on your second point. It’s just that the point nomoss and I were trying to make was due to the web site issues on opening day, initial movement comparison for 3080Ti may not be the best. I agree that 3080Ti will clear at least the first day, but people shouldn’t base their expectations looking at how fast the queue “seems” to be moving through the first 3-4 hours.

Edit: Due to intermittent site crashes, members could also only register intermittently, hence the affect of website issues to the queue jumps. If the server crashed between 3 minutes after the hour and did not come back till 3 minutes 45 seconds, the jump is 45 seconds, but only a second’s worth of total registrations. So 18 minutes of movement may actually have less than a minute’s worth of registrations, we just don’t know.

I've been signed up for multiple versions of the 3090 since the beginning of March. Is there any way to see your place in line? Or a way to see if there has been any progress in those ques?

Re: New EVGA.com Notification Checkout Process 2021/06/12 15:13:47 (permalink)
it would be nice to have some historical data so we can possibly plot out a trend or something for the queue. we can probably tell if production is ramping up on newer cards and slowing down for older cards.

On the release of the 3080 TI FTW3, I wasn't able to sign up within the first hour because the site was hella unresponsive. I only remembered to sign up for auto notify after 3 hours because work was hectic. Actually realized just now that not only was I 3 hours late signing up for auto notify, the timestamp assigned to me was 3 hours after submission (which is also when I received the confirmation email so I guess it's based off of that).

Looking at it linearly, if we're already at 7:40PDT 10 days after launch, I'd expect to receive the notification after 26 more days, but again that's if you look at it linearly. There are a lot of factors to consider here: e.g. how many cards were available on day one, how much cards are being manufactured, if supply is constant, how many people signed over time. If 75% of day one auto notifies were done within the first two hours, maybe everyone who signed up on day one would have a chance of getting the 3080 TI FTW3 this month... I hope.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but all of these queue reports or only as good as people reporting to them. So, let's say that if people aren't reporting that they're getting their notifications, then it doesn't get reflected in the queue. I would imagine the amount of people actually reporting is quite low. So, it's possible that those September queues are further along than the reporting reflects. This can account for sudden jumps in queues, along with other factors. One of those being the issues on launch day which are the cause of a lot of the gaps in timestamps.  It's also possible for there to be a much larger surge of people that signed up close to the launch, and then it could taper way off after, and the queue could progress faster after surpassing that hump. There are just a lot of variables here.

Regardless, it's not very accurate to compare one SKU's movement to another's because there are a lot of variables to account for. We just don't know because we don't have access to all the data needed to come to an accurate conclusion. There's not real accurate estimation for when you can expect a notification TBH, due to that.

@Blastmode7,

Yes, it is theoretically possible in the same way a manned mission to Mars is theoretically possible.

Sorry, have been waiting to use that for a while. If we get back on topic, yes, what you’re saying is possible and it is highly probable that the queue reportings are not definite. However, it is damn near close imho. I don’t think there’ll be a discrepancy of more than couple minutes, especially when orders are only fulfilling the perceived bottlenecks of the queues, as the first day or two of the queue opening for a specific SKU will see the highest number of auto-notify registration per minute.

If go to one of enewt’s last posts (perhaps two pages before) I believe he has a link to the latest notification reports in his signature. I don’t believe one can view signatures on mobile though.

You can always look at the spreadsheets linked in my signature. It's not perfect, but it tracks the flow of cards pretty well over the last 8 months.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the community spreadsheet ☺️. I hope you all get your card soon!

Re: New EVGA.com Notification Checkout Process 2021/06/12 15:42:31 (permalink)
There are enough people self reporting that enewt's (NA) and BovineGamer's (EU) summaries can give you an idea of movement.  If there is no movement since September on some of the SKUs, then you can rest assured that it hasn't moved.

Generally it appears that there is an initial surge of drops, e.g. what happened with the 3080 and 3070 Tis, when a SKU is released and it becomes sporadic and drops are mixed, that is to say x and y SKUs may have a drop one week, and some weeks there are none.

So based on this, no, you can not accurately predict the exact date you will get your chosen card(s).  You can, however, see that if an "invitation to purchase" email is reported in a SKU queue you are in and is a few seconds earlier than you, then you are getting close.

Hard to say, 7:40 mark for the 3080ti is when a lot of people were able to get into the queue. Expect it to move slowly from here on out. Hopefully I'm wrong and we get all our cards soon. My time is 7:44 for the 3080ti and 6:20 for the 3070ti. Have to use my discount code soon and I don't think I will make it to the 3080ti before it expires.

I’ve been saying all along get a 1000w minimum and ideally 1200 so that you’re operating in the most efficient part of the curve.

As for the 3080Ti movement - we are going to hit the mother of all bottlenecks around the 7:55 mark

Re: New EVGA.com Notification Checkout Process 2021/06/12 16:25:43 (permalink)
Hey guys, it's me again. Sooooo after some fortuitous circumstances, I was able to trade the 3070 Ti I got for a 3080 Ti so my wait is officially and completely OVER. No more anxiously awaiting launches and drops. What a rollercoaster it's been over the last few months! Of course this means that instead of my buddy getting a 3070 Ti, he is NOW going to be able to have my non-LHR 3080 for $50 under MSRP. Needless to say he was excited I would be able to get him ANY Ampere card at all originally, but now he is absolutely ecstatic. When we talked to him, he was practically jumping up and down in joy! So after all this time, I am done looking for the next step to take and can enjoy my (scorching hot) gaming goodness in peace at last. If it's alright with you regulars, I'll probably still be around trying to answer questions, chat with you, and watch the queue progress.  But only if you want me to. Otherwise, I can just lurk  Sorry for the long off-topic post, everyone.. I have just been overjoyed all day and I knew you guys would be able to understand what a big deal this is. My wife thinks I'm just being a tad dramatic  Thanks to all of you guys (Enewt, nomoss, Dabadger, KTA, SQ, BYG, and others [TRULY sorry if I didn't list you here, these are just a few that come to mind quickly but I love ALL of you regulars - please don't hold it against me :/ ]) for keeping me sane the last few months and from being overwhelmed with disappointment. This community is incredible. Good luck to all on your GPU Journey and may the wait swiftly come to an end for us all.

Re: New EVGA.com Notification Checkout Process 2021/06/12 16:40:34 (permalink)
Regarding the notification queue wait timing predictions … I like to believe that those that are participating in the activity are doing so for entertainment value, and are not being overly confident with their predictions. For the rest, without knowing specifics with regards to supply chain pipeline and wether or not EVGA will receive a steady supply of product (none of that is 100% known,) any attempt to apply some sort of mathematical “formula” in an effort to predict future notification frequency is more likely to be an exercise in futility.

In the end, for those targeting the most accurate predictions possible, your best bet is to just keep an eye on Jacob’s twitter feed, as that is going to give everyone the best public info about supply flow, within a window of a few days.

As a side note, I would speculate, though, that knowing that nVidia is now taking some chips that would have been used for 3080’s, and are using for them for 3080 Ti’s, the 3080 supply is likely to be reduced somewhat moving forward.

Yeah, right?! The guy ended up being a super nice dude and after explaining to him how I was trying to help out a friend with a card and how I did NOT want to scalp mine to be able to buy one at scalper prices, he decided to help me out (and only make a small profit in the process). We ended up chatting for a bit before he was finally like "you know what, I'll help you guys out :)". He also told me someone made him a really good cash offer (at absolute scalper price) last night but he didn't want to do it to me so he followed through on our deal. You don't find people like that very often and I was blessed to come across this guy. I firmly believe it's the universe paying me back for being so determined to help my friend out and for not taking advantage of people by scalping. Not gonna call it "karma" because I know that's not REALLY what karma is, but I like to think I was rewarded to sticking to my morals :) Whether or not I comment a ton, I'm gonna be here just because your jokes are straight fire, mate  Thanks for the compliment on my build, my wife is only okay with it because she doesn't know how MUCH it cost ;)

Explixit
Jacob mentioned that the 3080 ti drops were to be on either Friday "or" Monday. Since drops happened on Friday, should I hamper my expectations that I will receive an email on Monday.

I reeeeeeally hope we get a drop on Monday as I'm mere minutes away from the current latest time. Hopefully they get a shipment over the weekend.

I don't know how EVGA "Auto-Notify" works, all I know is I signed up for notification for RTX 3080 in November of 2020. I refuse to believe that there hasn't been a card available since November "8 MONTHS".. Things like these makes us, genuine buyers, believe that "to hell with these people, let scalpers and miners have all the cards, we want to sell our products as fast as we can" mentality from EVGA (and from a business POV I completely understand). But 8 months is not a small amount of time.

Unfortunately, that SKU has not really moved through the queue. Maybe a few solitary units; most have gone to retailers. The only 3080s to really nice have been the FTW3 Ultra (3897) and the hybrid models. Sorry I don't have better news for you.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the community spreadsheet ☺️. I hope you all get your card soon!
