It'd be nice, but you have to understand how this works.  Evga has numbers they have to meet with retailers.  If they show competitors or more importantly retailers how much they sell on their own site, they would get negotiated down hard.  It's why they removed the auto-notify number (guess, not fact) and we are even a little more blind than we used to be.  They don't do it because Amazon will kill you.  Best Buy.  Newegg.  So at least this way they can say we do x percent, let's call it 5 (for retailer available skus), on their own site and are working hard to send parts to their long term partners.

I have been in the queue since 2020/10/08. How long do we have to wait to get one of those 3080 cards?

Post your way to Elite is garbage, but what are you going to do?  Make the early queue entry Associate-based?  That might not be awful, since there is a definite penalty for come-latelys to be an associate (i.e. they don't get to use an associate code).

Associate based doesn't seem like a good idea because once you cancel your membership, you cannot get it again.

Got a question. So you sign up to be notified for lets say a 3080 FTW3 and all you have to do is wait for a notification email?

the other day, i just asked if EVGA was planning on killing the 3080 FTW3 Ultra, because of the "potential" release of the 3080 Ti, and then BOOM, more are released into the wild, putting me just about 3.5 hours away from receiving my notification (which might take another month or 2 ), but i'm glad they are still dropping. this wait totally sucks, and initially, i was rather angry about how long i've waited, thinking that somehow people behind me in the queue were getting their notifications before me, but i was happily mistaken about that, and i've realized that this is just a patience thing. the pandemic has screwed up basically EVERY supply line and production factory, which i've noticed has affected many aspects of my life personally. so, the overall theme is patience. i don't NEED a new GPU right now, just like i don't NEED chick-fil-a sauce when i eat there, and i don't NEED gas in my car right this second. PATIENCE young padawan. things will turn out for the best in the end.

I think the release of the 3080 ti is certainly going to slow down the Queues even more for the 3080s & 3090s. We are talking three models that use the same chip. Personally I hope it is the 3090 that takes the biggest hit but you never know how it is going to play out.

Well they're not the same chip but it will still effect things because NVidia has only a specific amount of FAB production available to them and the FAB is beyond fully allocated so NVidia has to decide how they want that allocation divided up and so any introduction of new silicon by definition reduces the amount of current production silicon.  (i.e. if you're a cookie baker and you're stuck with a finite oven capacity which allows you to bake 100 cookies at a time then you have to decide how many of each type of cookie you're going to make.  Introducing a new cookie means you have to make less of your existing cookies because you're stuck only being able to make 100 cookies at a time)

kta - 19 is a small reference to my own irritating at the moment spawn.  I also don't pick on kids as a general rule.  With 14 you know they're almost definitely idiots (even if they are very smart).  At 19 it's a little more nuanced.  They are what we call adults and they have that beautiful curse of youth where they think they know everything and believe everything will go as planned.
