The website seems to have initially crashed but i was able to add one to cart but there were no stores available nearby for pickup. I guess some regions don't really even get inventory.

Have this same problem in Canada. The few small drops we get seem to mostly go to Ontario (home of national capital) stores, leaving out the rest of the country.

I've basically signed up for every discord\twitch\twitter tracker under the sun and they all started alerting that stuff was showing up on best buy. I just so happened to be at my desk working and this is probably my fifth attempt at getting a card; so I was familiar with the whole check out process.

I lost touch with Swampy around the time of BF3…but were I to hear that broken-blacktop voice crack over my Discord channel, I’d hope he’d honor my Swamp Air frequent-flier miles; I’ve got a bunch.
As much as I want my card from the queue, I really hope that this inadequate supply of gpus isn’t depriving a whole generation of their first experiences with WASD gaming. To me, these memories are priceless. Throughout this process, seeing posts and PMs of parents securing cards for their kids’ rigs…and thinking about what joys lie ahead for them…those notes warm my spirit beyond words.
No... I'm not going to cry... I'm not going to cry.. I'm not going to cry...... Damnit... I'm crying.

Sure, but that was before the auto industry came knocking. Recall that drops were a lot more frequent last fall, and they were bigger. Now they are fewer in number and the queues for most cards are advancing in shorter intervals. Things have really slowed down since January, and from what I have read it's because chip production has largely been shifted to more critical sectors. When it shifts back is when GPU's will start to move faster, and it doesn't look like that will happen any time soon. There was speculation that this would happen, but I didn't want to believe it until I saw it. Well..... here we are.

They all go out in a single batch. If one person responds, it means that the emails have all been sent. At this point, it's just a matter of waiting for people to check their email and post the results here which might not happen for several more hours. Cards have dropped on Friday on a number of occasions. Monday is the only bad day for non-straggler drops.

My guess here is that EVGA will release new part numbers for the limiter-enabled version of the same cards we have queued up for already, then just transfer us all over to the new card at some break point when their stock of old SKUs runs out. Just a guess, but they would be wise to do this.
I doubt it. They will just open new SKUS, and let the old SKUS rot on the vine. 3881 for example. But we will see.

ya I carted an Asus 3090, but no store available to pick up. 3080/3090 FE get add to cart option, and then change to unavailable near by ... sign still hunting for a 3080 because I let my friend get mine first, thinking we could just trade spot for notification. waited till April to find out he fail to sign up notification....
