_7ucky_ On top of that, honoring the MSRP price for those who queued before today's day up until April is a big deal.

They're not honoring everyone that signed up through the date that was posted.
Anyone still in queue after the April date will have to pay the higher prices, no matter when you joined queue.

Hence my "up until April" caveat.

I missed no such thing, you missed where they never said anything about those queued before that date getting that price.

Regardless of when you queued up, if you haven't got your email for purchase by the April date, you will pay more for your card when your spot comes up.
That's my issue with this, is that they're not honoring spot in queue at original announced price for those queued before the announcement date.

You're right, I misread that. Here's your big brain gold star award.

no RTX 3080 Ti

the 3080 mobile chip 16GB GDDR6 not GDDR6X memory

nothing to see moving on.  Hope EVGA drop some cards today

I'm honestly surprised at the lack of 3080ti, but I think if they did drop it, there would be a **** storm from their users as it would be yet another sku that would clog up the others, safe to hold it back and wait for things to normalize before dropping it.

Feels like 3080 XC3 Ultras may be dropping today...(I am reading between the lines of a Jacob tweet).  Let's hope the drops are broader than just that queue.

He replied to a consumer's tweet this morning...so, yes.  His reply suggested that some 3080 XC3 Ultra invite to purchase emails may be released today.

Probably a stupid question that someone else has already asked, but is there a way to be taken off of the notification queue? I walked into Microcenter on my lunch break today and scored a TUF RTX 3090 and don't want to hold up the queue for those waiting for GPU's. Thanks!

I saw that reply, I don't think he alluded to that. A customer asked about replying to their email for that card on 1/7 and haven't heard anything yet. I assume they missed their 8 hour window and just replied and Jacob said someone should be getting back to them today about it.

Generally about this time is when emails typically go out, If there isn't anything in the next hour or so, then probably nothing today.

In my experience, that is not how it usually works.  I've seen time and time again that the note that they send to somebody in that situation is a new email with an invite to purchase link.  And they tend to send that on days when they are dropping to the queue for that sku.

Re: New EVGA.com Notification Checkout Process 2021/01/12 10:26:02 (permalink)
Even though it's looking like no drops today:

Good luck on the drops today guys, just some reminders:

  • Don't forget to use an Associate's Code during checkout, it will save you 5% off your GPU purchase, and up to 10% on other purchases.  All you have to do is use the code at checkout (a few useful ones: Mine: 47AQQ6KPU2IZNXY - Enewt's: VDN2319M4O569J4 ) or click the links there & it will make a cookie to insert the code automatically during checkout, then when you receive your card, be sure to register it & upload your invoice from the EVGA order page.
  • Keep in mind if you're ordering a Hybrid card: the tubing is 400mm in length, and the radiator + fan combo is about 56mm thick;  Hybrid card radiator exhaust can be in excess of 34-38C air, having it setup as intake is not recommended even in a CPU AIO/GPU AIO setup, as unless you have a very high core count CPU that puts out more than 400W of heat, the GPU radiator will always be the hotter of the two.
  • If you purchase a card elsewhere, it's best not to remove your notify queues until you receive the card, just to be on the safe side, as if you do remove it then have to requeue, you would be at the back of the line.  Once you receive your card & remove yourself from other queues, kindly let us know which cards you removed yourself from queue for, so that others in those queues know they've effectively moved up a spot.
  • It is recommended that you have, at the bare minimum, a quality 750W (or in my opinion, 850W) PSU for a 3080, and at least a 850W (or in my opinion, 1000W) PSU for a 3090, especially if you plan to overclock your CPU and/or other components at all.  Keep in mind that OCed CPUs quickly go up in power draw in most cases, i.e. a 95W TDP CPU like a 9900K can get up to 170-190W of draw from a simple 5GHz OC like mine.  Even if you're running a 3080 on a stock system, I would definitely recommend against going with less than 750W at a bare minimum, just to avoid any future issues.

Just some reminders for y'all folks. :-D Happy hunting...

AND I TOLD Y'ALL AIN'T NO 3080 TI COMING OUT IN JANUARY.

I am still waiting but I also bought a 3090 and paid a 300 buck premium a few months Ago. Just  made back the difference mining when not gaming. I underclock and  it is quite Efficient. I have mad 500 bucks mining so it worked out ok.

Yeah I'm on 9/17 for XC3 Gaming & Black because of the price point.  If I would have signed up for the XC3 Ultra not only would I already have my card, but it will wind up being cheaper than what I eventually buy the Gaming or Black version.  I have no faith that any non Ultra XC3s will ship prior to April.

all this waiting is so aggravating the que is great but you know what would be better pre-orders and pre-orders from the start I am guessing pre-orders and limits to how many you could pre-order would have fixed all the bots and scalpers and miners.  At least I would think it would some always find ways around the system but at least in a pre-order system it is not about how fast you can get something in the cart.

I've been telling people for months, since the 30-series first launched and rumors started of the 3080 Ti etc after AMD's card performance was leaked that there's absolutely no way NVidia would release a refresh & undercut their own profit margins etc in January... looking more and more like I was right.
At the earliest, they're more likely to be in April-June.

Yeah, I reckon a 3080ti would have been around $1200 before the recent price hikes. Now? Either they postpone it or put it at the old 3090 price while the 3090 settles around $2000.... Its not like you could actually buy an AMD $999 6900XT card anywhere.

Are you insane? 1200$ for a TI? Why would it be almost 150% the price of a 3080 FTW3 for just a bit more power?

Ti would probably be around 1000$ now considering the FTW3 is now 880$. 1200$ is unrealistic and waaaaaaaayy too expensive.

Top-end TIs typically match or exceed the previous highest end card, so I am thinking about a 20 gig RAM card with 3090 performance and possibly better OC headroom due to a more mature process. That card would have exactly 1 card to compete against, the msrp $1500 3090.... So yeah, 3090+ performance at 20% discount sounds pretty sane to me. With the price hikes, I am sure there would be room for a $900-1000 3080 Super with slightly more cores than the current 3080 and slightly more RAM (12-16ish). Anyways, sounds like all we are getting is a paper launched laptop announcement as well as a mind boggling 12 gb 3060....

I agree that the 3080ti will be in the $1200 range. It's the price point in between the 3080 and 3090. The 3080ti will also have twice as much VRAM as the 3080 so the cost increase is going to be significant. All of these cards are overpriced. They are all way too expensive, but people will still buy them anyway. That's how it goes when there is a lack of meaningful competition.
