Dabadger84 Edit: Anyone else notice the site got updated to saying orders won't ship until the 5th? I swear it said the 4th 2 weeks ago... guess tomorrow we either aren't getting drops or if we do they won't ship til the 5th?
Pretty sure it was always the 5th. Soon we will see the biggest massive drop ever! Lol.

I'm not in the mood to go back 2 weeks & check my posts to see what it actually said then :-P Regardless, hopefully today will be a big drop day. Edit: Apparently it was indeed Customer Service opens back up on the 4th and the RMA/etc the 5th. Meh. Let's just hope we get a decent drop today to make up for 2 weeks of nothing.

Friendly Reminders to everyone today: Make sure you use an Associate's Code during checkout, free 5% off just for entering the code, and whoever's code you decide to use gets a 3% credit in eVGA Bucks from your purchase, spread the love this holiday season! Also keep in mind you can reply to the purchase email & request additional time if you need it to purchase your card (this is per CS & Jacob directly, they will make sure you get a card if you email them letting them know you are committed to purchasing it). Good luck today everyone!

Hulky87 so the new one - same unit, but new - will be able to handle it easily now? or you RMAed for a higher model?
Not sure what they will give me. But some have mentioned getting the new 850W model. I will see what I can get, It should be here in a week.

Anybody know if they're sending out emails for the 3060 Ti today? I'm currently at 12/2/2020 7:13 AM for the XC3 and FTW3 Ultra.

Nobody knows anything for sure. Or, if they do, they don't say :) It seems to be a crapshoot as to which SKUs drop, and how many. Good luck!

Hulky87 ... I saw the new Silverstone SFXL 1000Watts but many complained about the sound of the fan, plus it can't be found online, sad..... I got high hopes still for the 800Watt LTI one I got.
Good luck. I have one and that thing is worse than any Seasonics. It can't handle Vega FE on anything but idle.

We won't know for sure until people start getting them (which will be in about 3 1/2 hours) or Jacob posts the drop list for today (which typically occurs in about 4-4 1/2 hours, on days he posts a list). Till then, unknown.

On the PSU question front, I just bought an EVGA G5 850 for this build. Does anyone anticipate any problems with that running a 3080? I'm shooting for the hybrid if that matters. My back of the envelope math says it should be good, but if anyone has any experience with it specifically, I'd appreciate your input. If it's no good for the 3080, I can just put it in my son's upcoming PC build (probably based on a 3060) and get something more suitable for myself.

The notification I saw on their website, before Christmas, said they were closed until 1/5. I've never seen anything that said they were closed until the 4th.
The notification on the website says: Office: The EVGA offices will be closed from 6:00 PM on 12/24/20 to 9:00 AM on 1/4/21. Customer Service: EVGA Customer Service will be closed from 4:00 PM on 12/24/20 and reopen at 9:00 AM on 12/28/20. They will also close from 4:00 PM on 12/31/20 and reopen at 9:00 AM on 1/4/21. RMA Service: RMA Services will be closed on 12/25/20 and reopen on 1/5/21 EVGA Online Store: Orders placed after 12/23/20 at 2:00 PM will not ship until 1/5/21. So they did reopen on 1/4, which is what I thought, they just didn't open back up the shipping/RMA department until later today, which is the part I thought changed but did not. Arguing over semantics when the section we all care about (aka the part that ships the cards out & does orders) not being open til today, apparently, is pointless. Moving on. Apparently what my 3090 runs as a stable OC/undervolt is what a Kingpin runs at for "stock" boost clocks... so that'll be an interesting starting point jump. Wonder if I can get the Kingpin to run 2100+ with a similar undervolt... given the Stock vs Stock clock difference of +120MHz, I think that should be easily possible... 2145 or 2160MHz at 1000mV or so would be awesome - but in reality, I'll find what the maximum safe voltage is on the core with the 520W BIOS, plug that in, push the core clock up til it errors or crashes in benchmarks, back it off about 30MHz, then call that stable until it proves otherwise. Should be fun.

Hamburger the kid I mean, besides the money reasons I called out, there is also the cost of systems implementation. What system would they implement with their certified distributors? Who would police it, and by what standard? Implementing all of that takes labor hours and manpower, versus just sitting back and collecting a bigger margin with less warranties to honor like they are now. Again, they are top-level as far as customer service goes, so I'm not saying they wouldn't do something like that; I'm just saying it might not make sense, fiscally.
Hamburger the kid Examples: 1. If you buy a scalped card off amazon, you pay tax on that purchase. So the government collects tax when the scalper buys it, then they collect tax a second time when you buy it. 2. EVGA (and pretty much every company as far as I know) only honor their warranty to the initial buyer. So if you buy the card from a scalper, and then in fries a week later, you're out of luck because EVGA will ask you for the invoice from the registered distributor. So, while EVGA's warranty is best in class, they won't have to honor it in this case. 3. Nvidia/EVGA are still getting paid, regardless of who buys the card.
1) EVGA doesn't get the tax money no matter what they do, so it doesn't matter to them. 2) At least one person in this discussion seems to think that EVGA will honor at least some warranties for second hand buyers. I have no idea if that's true, but if they aren't already budgeting for some amount of RMA cases based on internal MTBF testing, they're not doing The Business™ right. 3) You already said that they are already getting paid. I'm not trying to start an argument, but your examples seem like non-issues to me, fiscally. At the end of the day, none of us know what EVGA's internal business logic looks like, but I think we can all agree that they want to get paid. Unless you have some convincing reasons to think they are actively working against their end users, I don't see why we should think they are, since we are their source of income.
Lol...thank you for telling me that EVGA doesn't get tax money. Let me clarify for you: The states get tax money. If the scalper in one state buys the card, he pays tax money to that state. Then the end-user buys from the scalper, then his state gets that tax money as well, so two local government entities benefit from taxes rather than one. This benefits the local governments. As to business logic, successful business dictates that you sell as much as you can, for as large a margin as you can. I'm not going to paste the link, but it's in the news how NVIDIA sold the cards directly to bitcoin mining operations, completely circumventing distribution and the end user. NVIDIA does not care about you, the consumer; they just want to sell product. EVGA, on the other hand, is well known for supporting the customer, but they can only sell as many chips as they receive. At the end of the day, they too, are a business.

Might be fine, what's the rest of the system specs? Unless you're running a high-core count OCed CPU, I don't think an 850 should be a problem, even one as medium-end in quality as the G-series.

There are even rumors of SUPER versions of 3070 and 3080 already surfacing from a very reputable leaker. The only tasty news for me in leak wise, is the news that AMD might have their 7000 series with chiplets.

evgaboyd I think the trickle train is at the station.
A day later and that expression still makes me laugh. #ThankYou As a reminder, here is where we are to start the year. There were no drops yesterday. I am hopeful that today is the day EVGA and UPS find each other again, like some long lost couple at the end of a romantic movie and that as the credits roll, we see a fleet...strike that...fleets of fleets...of UPS trucks lined up at warehouses the size of...well, each building the size of the warehouse at the end of the Indiana Jones -- each truck being loaded up with box after box of EVGA gaming goodness. Fade to black. Oh, but we aren't done yet...the mid-credit scene pops up...and it is now a fleet of drones hovering above an EVGA warehouse...so many that they blot out the sun...and they are each picking up a box from the rooftop loading zone and flying off to deliver gaming goodness to deserving gamers everywhere.... As of 8:00 am PT Tuesday morning, this is the status of the North American queues ( bolded font represents movement from the morning of Monday, January 4; italicized parentheticals calculate the length of movement ( there was no movement)).
