Didn't see this posted here yet so here's some good news:
Tried to post a link but it didn't work so I'll paraphrase the title:
"500,000 Nvidia graphics  cards found in an abandoned container"
apparently someone screwed up and misplaced an entire can of cards!
These should be injected into the market soon.

Thanks for spreading some fake news.

The hydro copper cards are delayed with no ETA as far as I know. Shame because I’d actually love to get one...

Concur, the rumors says there will be a 8nm refresh in 2021. Which I assume will be the SUPER variants before Lovelace kicks in.

It's likely we'll get 2 "refreshes", one will be the 3080 Ti led one, then maybe the kind like we got with the GTX 480 vs GTX 580 etc... And then the smaller micron stuff in 2022.  I hope I'm wrong, but we'll see.  As long as AMD keeps pushing forward in non-RT performance and gets their stuff together to put up a better fight with their next generation of RT-stuff, it will continue to push NVidia forward, hopefully, and give us a nice choice of products and some solid competition at all price points.

Step up program will be sky rocketing

I would recommend using DDU to wipe the old driver when jumping between architectures (Turing -> Ampere)

Honestly, that's silly.
The driver is the driver, the software recognizes the GPU, has nothing to do with the generation of card you are running, as long as your GPU is listed
as being supported in the release notes.
That being said, when new GPUs are released, they certainly will not be supported by a 6 month old driver (except currently, where it will be 6 - 12 months from release of the 3000 series before we can buy one!!), thus the need for installing a new driver, however you wish to do it.

You clearly know nothing about drivers/level2 architecture, or how DDU works in comparison to GeForce experience.
Next time, do more research or stay in your lane.

I'd say 4 to 6 months. I signed up for the 3080 FTW3 Ultra on 9/22 and I haven't received a glimpse of a card yet.

You don’t need ddu. I went from a 1080 to a 3070 using the same nvidia driver. Both gpus were supported.

I would not rely on the queue unless you were on top of it and got an early time stamp. Remember that you can look for a card elsewhere while your time stamp is collecting dust. At this point, you will probably find one through another vendor before your time stamp comes up. Some folks have had success through Best Buy. According to someone here, they seem to release what stock they have at a certain time of day. I think it's around 5-5:30pm PST on weekdays. You have to be logged on and get through the checkout process as quickly as possible to secure a card. Enter your info in advance, etc.  Maybe someone here who had success this way will provide more info, but when people get their cards they tend to disappear from this thread soon after.

I've been seeing a bunch of 3090's, 3987 specifically posted on amazon for MSRP recently. I was able to snag one, however I'm still holding out for a 3080 or even the upcoming 3080 ti.
