Urobulus Again just speculations and hopes. It was supposed to go faster apparently after we get passed the 17th, it still crawling. People need to stop thinking that it will magically start ramping up because of X and Y reason and just look at the rate we have right now. I for one stopped thinking that way and even though I'm only 4 days ahead of the queue we have right now for the FTW3 I'm not even expecting my card until next Summer easily.
I believe I said that it would start to accelerate after it got through the morning hours of the 18th...and then slow again once the queues are announced on 10/5...only to pick up again on 10/7 (the queues were announced on 10/5 but press widely publicized them on 10/6). I think the 3080 FTW3 Ultra is almost through the morning period on 9/18 (where I imagine folks who F5ed on 9/17 until their keyboard cried "mercy" were resignedly clicking the "auto-notify" button the following morning) and, even the morning hours of 9/18 have moved much faster than did the morning hours of 9/17.

Urobulus Do the maths from here...
As you say... Do the math's, most people probably signed up the most on day 1 and 2, and it probably went down little-by-little after that until it was mentioned they were going based on notifies, which it probably then jumped back up. So your math isn't necessarily on-point saying it will be 3 months a day for every day of notifies.
You're right, could take even longer. Who knows in the state we are in right now. Again like I said let's check and discuss again the whole thing in March and April and see how much it moved.

drewski989 1-2 years, that's a little dramatic, isn't it?
Not at all. Just take the 3080 FTW3 Ultra as an example: we moved 1 full day in 3 months so far. 1 day. In 3 months. Let that sink in... Do the maths from here... And please people stop believing that all of a sudden it will magically start going up and they will jump hours and days in the queue in a single day: it won't. The pace we have right now is what will be experienced for the next few months to come I'm sure. Hence why I'm saying that it will take them 1 to 2 years to fulfill the orders at this rate and we will most definitely see the 40XX series announced before everyone received their 30XX. I'm just going with the hard facts we see since the past 3 months now, not the hopes we keep having. Let's discuss again in March and April and see who was right. Pretty sure we will still be on day 2 or 3 of release for 3080 FTW3 Ultra.
When you take it into "hours" , "days" and "months" . You lose the perspective that there could be THOUSANDS of people queued in one minute of the queue.

I'm afraid you're right. This trickle of cards will probably be the norm for at least a couple months. I don't see supply magically ramping up to meet demand. How the 4000 cards are released (and the rest of this cycle) depends on why the 3000 cards are are in such short supply. Is it solely due to the pandemic? A shortage of labor in key manufacturing plants for components? Is it due to some sort of raw material shortage that otherwise has nothing to do with the pandemic? Combine the two for a bad situation in a normal year, let alone one in which PC building took off in popularity. If this is simply a supply and demand problem, and they are making components/cards at a normal pace, adding additional manufacturing capacity is complex and hugely expensive. Most companies won't invest huge amounts to increase production when the demand surges in the short-term. Once demand wanes, they would have wasted manufacturing capacity sitting there doing nothing. Even if Nvidia saw the unprecedented demand and decided to increase manufacturing capacity, it would take weeks/months to actually get going. They have apparently enlisted the help of Samsung, which is good, but it won't have an effect anytime soon.

Congratulations and thanks for reporting back to the thread! Your post indicates that the 3897 is now through the morning of 9/18. I expect this thread to accelerate into the afternoon hours and continue that way until 10/5 as previously discussed. Your watch is quickly coming to an end; please clean up your area before carefully making your way down from the wall (we cannot afford a trip to the ER these days). Enjoy your card!!!

Titan Lelantos Jacob has stated several times on Twitter that rates are continuing to increase, and will continue to increase. I don't see that changing just because he hasn't said so today.
Yeah he also said that people wouldn't have problems getting a card in October and November... Yeah right...
This is the other half of my Drum Set of Accountability (the first one being a demand for an apology and resolution for the 3881/3883/3895 debacle): be nice to Jacob, and really any and every community manager you come across. Everything he says basically has to be vetted by legal and communications first other than basic forum questions, so stuff like production numbers or increases are typically fed to community managers by marketing/PR/etc and not indicative of his personal or professional opinion on things. This is his job, and if the company tells him to say something, he kinda has to do that. Your complaint - which is totally valid - is with EVGA, not Jacob. Jacob may rep EVGA here, but he is not EVGA the company. I don't begrudge his statements early in the launch, I begrudge EVGA for clearing/issuing them in the first place when they would've absolutely known to the contrary that it wouldn't be possible to satisfy those sign-ups, especially of products they weren't actively making (3881/3883/3895) at the time. So again, while our complaints are totally, completely, 100% valid, I cannot stress this enough: please, please, PLEASE be nice to Jacob. Everything on their EVGA_JacobF handle or Twitter account, unless said otherwise, is basically coming from the company, not them personally.

I don't see where I wasn't nice to him, I just asked questions and stated facts and quotes. What I meant is that not everything he says sticks at 100%. EVGA can turn around and completely undo what he might have said. I know well who he is and what is job is.

I've gotten two cards now outside of evga now (still waiting for the FTW 3080 Ultra here though). Here is how I did it. I got both from Best Buy and used only a single device looking for one specific card instead of spreading out and trying to get multiple cards at the same time. Best Buy has been doing large drops with multiple cards and brands. My theory is that the Best Buy system thinks you are a bot if you try to get multiple cards at the same time and will not let you check out (e.g. no store within 250 miles for pickup). I used my phone and the BB application for both purchases and set it up for as quick as a purchase as I could, add to cart, check out, double click for Apple Pay. You will have to pick up the card and in both cases I was able to pick it up early. In both cases I had to wait through the "Waiting for inventory" message until the add to cart button showed up again. Note for one card it purchased through a Best Buy CC which it somehow signed me up for (Or I just checked out ASAP and hit agree to it) - not a big deal really as it can be paid off and cancelled. For notification I've been using the YouTube channels that have been scrolling stock checks, I was also using the Discord channels but there was about a 30 second delay both times from the YouTube siren to the Discord notification. Another note: I also use OctoShop and they have sent notification for when New Egg is doing a drop about 30 - 15 minutes ahead of time. I wasn't able to buy a card through New Egg but at least some people are getting an early notification there. I hope that this helps some others get the cards they want this week I would not reject out of hand that Best Buy would not do a drop on the 24th, you would not be able to get it for the 25th but you would be able to play some of the Steam Winter Sale games I'm sure we all will be picking up this month.

The trouble is ( speaking from experience) that a lot of people will misread your tone and try and hold Jacob accountable, when it's not really their fault. The reply was less to do with your specific post, and more a (likely futile) attempt to prevent a witch hunt at Jacob's expense. I try to leave their name out of my own posts to keep focus on the company, rather than specific individuals, for that very reason. Nothing personal, more just trying to shield Jacob from the sort of toxicity I get in my own inbox, human-to-human.

I would like to think Jacob has some freedom in certain situations however I believe anything in response to queue/turn time has to be approved by eVGA.

Exactly. It's why even though it came from Jacob's twitter at the time, I've constantly treated it as an official company statement (because seriously, that sort of statement would've absolutely been cleared beforehand, or taken down immediately after it was noticed had it not been approved).

Then we should take Tiger1833 at his word (his post did say "est")...meaning that his time stamp might be Eastern. So, that would walk back the head of the queue to approximately 10:43:57 am PT.

I feel your pain. At the price scalpers are demanding for EVGA XC3 3080 cards specifically right now, I've been able to justify an MSRP 3090 XC3 if I can find it (they tend to last longer during Best Buy drops). Might as well get some extra memory for my money, after all.

It does, but you'll be waiting *computer voice* 3.523 years *end computer voice* to Step Up. I ended up reselling the card I bought for Step-Up purposes, and I got in Step Up queue on 10/1, I can't imagine how long you'll be waiting in queue if you queue for Step Up now. Last I heard, NA Step Up queue is even further behind (date wise) than the actual queue system is.

gcordovva I just got my auto notify email to purchase 08G-P5-3755-KR, does this card qualify for Step-up program to 10G-P5-3897-KR? BTW - mine auto notify was 10/29/2020 7:37:41 AM PT
Congratulations on your new card! Thanks for reporting back to the thread. Enjoy your new gaming goodness! To check the step-up program guidelines/rules, please find them here: https://www.evga.com/support/stepup/.

Urobulus Jacob since you seem to be around: can you confirm when the drops will actually go up instead of constantly being barely anything every week? You guys mentioned that production would ramp up in October and November yet 3+ months after release date we didn't see much improvements, and most of the queues BARELY moved if at all. Can we please get an update on all that? Or is it going to continue like that for another couple of months? At this rate it's going to take like 1-2 years to fulfill everyone order, if EVGA can even finish that before the 40xx series is announced (which I highly doubt now, the 40XX will be announced and there will still be people waiting in line for a 30XX I'm sure)...
You will also be waiting for the 40xx series too so...
