Are there cards going into the Step-up Program as well?  I'm wondering because I have both in play atm. (10/3 for Step-up and 10-13 for Notify, both for the 3080 FTW3 Ultra ). Even so, I'm not counting on any good news until January 2021.

Per @EVGA_JacobF's tweets over the last few days, "yes"...cards are going into the step-up program.

I wish I could get the 3080 and step up to the 3080Ti but I don't think there is a chance of this happening.

Leave it to one card per series, before going to the back of the line. For example, my younger brother is relying on me for a 3070. If that comes out first, you are telling me I should suffer and go to the back of the line? I am ok with that I am in the back for the 3070 but not every other card.

Makes sense, even one card per series would be a huge improvement, but could it be a time for your brother to get his own email? :)
(give a brother a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a brother to fish and you feed him for a lifetime)

I hit auto notify on day one, just like every one else could have. I intended to buy two cards. My wife games also. Why should anyone be limited to one card total? Different skus works perfectly. Nobody is forcing anyone to wait until their number comes up. You can try to spend your money somewhere else. People do purchase cards elsewhere. I'm going to jump off my soap box now and patiently wait for my second card, the one for my pc 😁

I can't believe how slow this Q is going... I signed up for notification on 9/21 @12:51:35PM PT. At this rate it'll be January by the time I can order my card... >.<

It isn't necessarily going slow so much as there were a LOT of notify mes placed on  9/17.  Once they get past release day, it should move at a much faster clip.

As much as I'd love for them to off all the scalpers, literally, people like you & I, who need more than one card, for legitimate purposes (mine is a friend who wants one & doesn't want to pay scalper prices, but also doesn't have credit cards etc) would get royally screwed if they actually put in a system that would definitely stop all scalpers (like one card per series per IP/physical address etc).

eVGA doing what they're already doing is working pretty well, and they are still checking to see if the orders were obviously placed by a bot or not, one would assume, so it's unlikely the majority of "botters" are actually getting anything out of the queue system.

I'm curious as to just how much longer it will be before they plow through enough of the Step Up queue for me to get that 3080 for the dude from said queue.  I registered for it on 10/1 with a 2070 Super XC Hybrid, that I used until I actually got my own 3080 FTW3 Ultra from the notify me queue system about a week later.

Still very happy with the fact that my 3080 has had zero issues in it's month of usage so far.

Have no doubt that some people really need more then one card (wife, brother, friend).
But majority hit multiply SKUs just to be sure they will have the first SKU supply.
Now seeing how scalpers making a money people wants to by more just to earn money.
So ordering 3 SKUs and keeping the best, selling 2 other give you a new card for free. How's that sound.
I think there is some people here that got 4 (four) cards.
No wonder why scalpers offering enormous number of 3000 series cards.

I mean let's be honest, I think the majority of folks would do just that if they had the funds, it's free money right? lol - Seriously though, rich folk takin' advantage of the poor etc is the story of this country the past 100 years - and most of the world in general.  If I weren't on unemployment, I'd be tempted to do it myself, but I simply don't have the funds to flip cards... if I did I wouldn't've had to pass on the 3090 FTW3 Ultra when my queue spot came up yesterday.  RIP.

It's a fantastic system - if they thought about the one huge flaw in people being able to have opportunity to buy multiple cards before others can buy one.
It should have been made extremely clear from the beginning that with this kind of demand:
- You wait until the card you REALLY want comes up and pass on the others.
or
- You get sent to the "back of the line" for the rest of your notifications after you buy a card.

Huh, I am not here alone.
People should not be allowed to by multiply cards while this drought is not over.
It is fine to list all possible models and SKUs, but after first card is ORDERED, list should be deleted for that user.
Wonder why that rule is not implemented.

Still EVGA is a light year ahead of other retailers (scalpers sponsors)

EDIT:
Jacob, could you please consider this change. It is never to late to make significant improvement. I am sure that vast majority will support and cherish this que update.

Leave it to one card per series, before going to the back of the line. For example, my younger brother is relying on me for a 3070. If that comes out first, you are telling me I should suffer and go to the back of the line? I am ok with that I am in the back for the 3070 but not every other card.

I think one per series is acceptable.
But being able to buy literally ALL sku's of one series before someone further down the line can buy ONE is just crazy with this kind of supply/demand issue.

I do not consider myself as rich, but I could buy 100 cards for cash without a single blink.
It is so hard for me not to buy a card from scalpers, and every day is harder.
I still believe that we are society where we can achieve our wishes on "regular" way.
Seeing how some people express selfishness just for a card, makes me wonder how would they behave in a "fight" for necessities.

I am in the Step Up queue as well, for a 3080 FTW3, as of 9/29.  The GPU I purchased in September for this step up is a 2080 Super FTW3 that I am currently using as my main Rig's GPU.  My current estimated ETA and present speed of fulfillment is September 2021, no I am not joking.  So unless Step Ups are canceled, I will be taking advantage of getting this card for my second build however its not going to be going in my main rig.

I have plans to build a smaller rig, something I can leverage for Media server or gaming near the main TV.  It will likely need to wait until my step up card gets here.

This is why I am also in the notify queues for:  3080 FTW3 and 3090 FTW3.  As luck would have it, the 3090 FTW3 will likely be the notify I get first.  Maybe this month.  If that happens it will be my main rig GPU for 2 to 3 years or so.

Sure its crazy expensive.  However if I just wanted to by a 3080 FTW3 right now off of Amazon or Ebay it would cost $1,600.  If I am going to spend that sort of cash I might as well just get the 3090 from EVGA and call it a day.

If I get my 3090 FTW3 from notify I will cancel my other notifies.  The 3080 FTW3 Notify I have is saying late December and that likely will be more January.. I'm not waiting that long.

At least EVGA is doing this.  They are hands down a better company then all the competition.  I only wish AMD was as good with some sort of queue for the 5950x and other 5000 series cpus.. my 5950x preorder is looking like late December if that.

I would imagine the queue at evga is not the best option for scalpers. I'm sure some people have flipped cards, but not on a huge scale. The vast majority of people here are buying a single card IMHO

Indeed.  I'm just glad I had the funds set aside to make some other people's access to the cards easier, whenever they finally get around to shipping the ones I'm still in queue for.  Have a 3070 XC3 coming in Friday, should be interesting if the dude settles for that or wants something better, in which case I'll move on to the next person I know that wants a higher end GPU.

flg2010

How do you know the date for your Step Up being fulfilled, is there a magic thingy we can look at somewhere to find that out?  I think Step Up fulfillment, like the queue system itself, will start moving faster once they get past the initial day or so of spam they got from release day.  We'll see though.

Your wife games and doesn't have her own email address?

Interesting.

Even if she did, same address, eVGA would see it as a bot/multiple-buy attempt & block it from shipping 2 of the same SKU to the same house...
The only way to get 2 of the same SKU with the limit 1 per household thing in place (to the same address) is to do 1 card through the Notify Me system, and get another through a Step Up.

Probably not. But you're leaving the possibility of hundreds to thousands of people to do it very easily. It's not even a "gamble". It's a guaranteed thing that you can flip the cards for $200-$400 profit every day of the week. Anyone who doesn't think hundreds of people will take advantage are just lying to themselves. You're all so outraged at scalpers when someone brings up buying an eBay card, but somehow the fact that this queue makes it incredibly easy for anyone who singed up on day 1 for multiple SKU's to flip cards is perfectly ok with you. It's a very curious thing...
This forum doesn't represent the other probably 90+% of the queue who many aren't as honest as most here are and simply cancel their notifications when they get their card.

How do you know the date for your Step Up being fulfilled, is there a magic thingy we can look at somewhere to find that out?  I think Step Up fulfillment, like the queue system itself, will start moving faster once they get past the initial day or so of spam they got from release day.  We'll see though.

Someone did a great spreadsheet.. go to the step up forums and look.  They have an estimated fulfillment column.

I might just be horribly negative but I really doubt your going to see much movement with production and distribution of new GPUs until after COVID-19 is such an issue.  When I was building my current main rig it took a bunch of months to collect parts because I was unable to find a solid GPU at list price... and that was just after the new year.  Took 6 months to get the parts.

Using COVID as an excuse a this point is a cop out. Factories, etc are not being shut down from it anymore. And 90% of the processes to make cards are automated. The machines, robots, etc that assemble cards can't get COVID. It's just a poor excuse at this point. In Q1, Q2, and MAYBE early Q3 it was a legitimate excuse. Not anymore.

Got my card yesterday after ordering via my 10/5 email notify on 11/9
Below is the very best I could Do without a water block or putting on the Xoc bios. (I will dont worry)
I heard 14000 was the magic barrier and I beat it!

This pic is for Enewt!

If I could "like" this or "upvote" I absolutely would. 100%. Look at those good boys! Congrats on the card!

Agreed.  I would likely post less if I could just "upvote" some of these fantastic post and engaging conversations.

Thanks for the kind words enewt and Jbones! enewt I would PM you back but I dont have the requisite 10 posts yet.

I hoped some pups would inject some positivity here but it seems that the scalpers and now moreso "Flippers" are taking the gifts from under the tree.

Ok.. so what is it then?  Create scarcity to keep prices up and create demand so that everything is sold out and profits are sustained and high?  Because I can go down that path of thinking just as easily.

However, even if this is the case, out of all the manufacturers in the tech world right now EVGA is at the top in my opinion.  Best customer Service, and now the best way to treat perspective and former customers with this queue system.

I used to be an ASUS customer.. 100%... and the fiasco that was their partner card launch made me look to EVGA.  While EVGA is only intel for mbs I might end up intel next year if the preorder for my 5950x never arrives.   And you better bet I will buy an EVGA mb even if its not the bleeding edge best if I go that route.

Interesting.

Of course she has an email, its 2020 FFS. Just because she games doesn't mean she sits at a pc all day trying to buy parts. She does her thing, I build computers. I don't know if you have a wife/girlfriend or live in your moms basement, but relationships are a mutual thing
