people who signed up on 9/17 for the ftw3 ultra are just now getting emails? ughhh

There is a big logjam on 9/17. Last week's drop only advanced the queue about 1 hour from 8:30am to 9:30am. It's might not seem like much, but a TON of people added themselves to the auto-notify list on 9/17, so the queue advancing 1 hour means a lot of cards were sold. Jacob at EVGA has confirmed that bigger drops are coming in November which means that we will see the queue start to move more quickly soon, probably this week.

On 9/17 between 9:27 am and midnight later that same day, on the self-report spreadsheet alone, there are approximately 254 more 3080 FTW3 Ultra sign-ups to go.  That is more than have been "served" on the spreadsheet queue so far.

These are rough and unforgiving numbers, but I do continue to maintain that this is better than what we had prior to the queue being created.  And nothing says that folks who are in the queue but a bit buried cannot also continue their F5 career....  As has voiced on this thread repeatedly, this is a suboptimal situation and we are all doing the best we can.

I wish we had some tracker for the Step-up queue, Id like to know how long ill sit there waiting to step up my 3070. Might wait out close to the 90 days before jumping in in case something with more vram gets posted up 3080 wise.

Movement with the step-up is much easier to track because the people who qualify for it are limited. If you just started a step-up for a 3070 you are probably better off than those who signed up for notify at the same time.

Random thought, do you think EVGA has gained more new loyal customers than they have lost existing disgruntled customers due to the queue and its relatively slow progress?

I want to stick with EVGA and wait out the queue, but its hard to do when there are cards to be had elsewhere and even the best queue sku hasn't filled that many sales.

Thoughts?

No question, yes they have.  They were the first AIB to try to address the situation (AORUS/Gigabyte did a one-off email invite-based drop after EVGA).  For old dudes like me, this has given me hope where previously I had none.  I couldn't compete with the fast-twitch skills of others or the bots...and I couldn't stay up late trying to nab a random 2-card drop on newegg or whatever.  Now, I may have to wait awhile -- longer than I would want to or should have to -- but I am confident that I will get a card, and a good one at that. I have always been a fan of EVGA quality. The goodwill they have generated by the queue is high...and I while I remain frustrated that I cannot currently game with my free time, I recognize that this is not a situation of EVGAs making.  They are simply trying to mitigate the pain as much as possible.

I'm not even going to bother with update scanners and F5'ing until my index finger starts to hurt. I think the queue is great because I don't mind waiting a bit longer. I'm still running a 5 year old 980SC, so those who have 1000 and 2000 series GPU's and are raving like they are dying in the desert don't get much sympathy from me. If they are developers and need the GPU power I totally get it. If they have a new build and are only waiting on the GPU I get it. Gamers like me can wait though. CP 2077 is delayed anyway and it's the only game I have/want that really needs a high end GPU.

If I can be $800 richer for a few more weeks it's okay. I have never dropped this much on a GPU anyway. $500 is usually my limit, but I try to avoid first gen technology so I skipped the 2000 series. The prices never really came down, and then the 3000 series was close to release so Nvidia stopped making the previous gen and you could only get it from scalpers. F that.

Yikes.  Are you EU-based or could the "invite to purchase" email have gone into your spam folder.  From reports I have received, and looking at the spreadsheet, the front of the queue has moved into 9:27 am on 9/17 for the 3080 FTW3 Ultra.

Edit: Check your "My Notifies" page to see if that card shows a "yes" or a "no". https://www.evga.com/community/myNotifies.asp

So were 3070's besides the "launch" edition even available on launch day? or are they being held back to deliver that version first?

The time stamps for the 3080 FTW Ultra are around 9:30am at this point. You might want to check your spam folder, if you have one. I deactivated mine because important emails were ending up there every now and then.

You should have gotten an email last week. People with similar time stamps got them on 10/27, I think.

I have only heard of the "launch day" skus going out on Thursday.  Possibly a few "stragglers" (those "launch day" cards that the recipient of the "invite to purchase" email passed on Thursday; likely very few given that the sign up was that morning) may have gone out on Friday.  It remains an open question whether the next 3070 drop will be more Gaming Blacks or whether, in line with what we saw for the 3080s and 3090s, EVGA will pivot to 3070 FTW3 Ultras and 3070 XC3 Ultras.  Hopefully we find out soon -- likely tomorrow.

Man when Jacob said ftw3 ultra drops today I got really excited but as far as I've seen we got 5 minutes of movement. As time goes up the list gets less and less dense too. So today was probably trickle from Thursday's big drop.

It's only 1:32pm there on the west coast, they have 4.5 more business hours, but yeah probably nothing today.

It is not easy, but it can be done with some persistent effort.  I was able to secure another 3080, which is lucky I know, but I wish I would not have to go that route.  I want to still accept my EVGA card, but I also don't like the dirty business of selling stuff.  It's not the worst problem to have, I just wish I didn't have to chose between loyalty and a card this instant.

I still expect a larger drop this afternoon -- of which card, I don't know...but I suspect either FTW3 Ultra or XC3 Ultra ('80s or '90s).  I think the '70s will be later in the week.

I think today's drop is the leftovers from last week. I expected to see a few more time stamps fall last Friday but it didn't happen. New shipments have been dropping closer to the middle of the week.

Not knocking EVGA in the least, basically making an observation that this is a long time for die-hard EVGA fans to wait for the "sure" thing of the queue.  Every day is more tempting to stray, especially with slow progress in the queues.  EVGA is great for trying to take lemons and make lemonade, but I wonder if it opens the door to losing some good customers.  Just a thought during work :D

If you were able to acquire one elsewhere before your place in the queue comes up there is nothing stopping you. I don't see why you wouldn't unless you were planning to use EVGA bucks. The queue is great for those of us who can't find one elsewhere and don't want to F5 all day long. I have looked at other places plenty of times but can't find anything. And when notifications do come through stock is gone in seconds before I could buy. I see the queue as only a good thing. I'm not sure why anyone would be disgruntled. Sure it's slow, but it's not EVGA's fault. They only get what they get. At least this puts us in a line to buy without the stress. If it didn't exist we would be much worse off.

How could they be losing customers when everyone else can buy EVGA cards from NewEgg, Amazon, etc... (just like all other AIB's...)?  EVGA is one of the few to offer cards direct, so if you took that out of the equation, they're no different from any other AIB's except maybe a little smaller.  Buying direct right now means being in the queue and getting cards as fast as EVGA can make it happen while still sending as much cards as they can to the retailers.  I see this as a win win for EVGA.  If someone has a POV that EVGA direct is the only way to buy a card and gets really upset they can't, then I don't know what to say.  It's just an odd perspective to take when opportunities exist outside of this site.

I'm at 8:57 on 9/17 and still haven't received my email for my 3080 ftw3 ultra!!

Hi Enewt,

I just looked at my notifications...this entire time I thought it was 8:57 am as I was online that morning waiting for the release and signing up, but it now says PM, so apparently I'm just too excited and blind, although I certainly wasn't signing up for anything at 9pm that night...lol...Thanks for looking into this for me, and it appears I will just be waiting a bit longer..

Hi Enewt,

I haven't made enough posts to directly PM you, but in response to your comments and PM, here is what it says on my notifications.  I'm not in EU, just the Seattle area, it appears that I got overlooked?  I have been hovering and looking at all my folders this entire weekend and today waiting for my email, so sadly, I never got one.  Thank you for diving into this for me!!

Hey man, go to your my notifies page. If it says no buy the time slot for the ultra sku then you might have been skipped. If it says yes, I'd check your spam.

I just saw PM we are on AM dog!

Your date/time stamp says 8:57 pm.  They are still almost 12 hours earlier.  You haven't been overlooked.

I have yet to hear of anybody who has been passed by.  However, "spam folder risk" is REAL.  If you have a moment, make sure EVGA is a contact in your gmail or your email client of choice.

Man when Jacob said ftw3 ultra drops today I got really excited but as far as I've seen we got 5 minutes of movement. As time goes up the list gets less and less dense too. So today was probably trickle from Thursday's big drop.

I think today's drop is the leftovers from last week. I expected to see a few more time stamps fall last Friday but it didn't happen. New shipments have been dropping closer to the middle of the week.

You're just pouring cold water on the idea, aren't you.  [A little forum-handle humor for you.  You're welcome. ]

Okay, how about this one then. Ten thousand 3080 FTW Ultra's arrive at the EVGA warehouse. How fast do you think can they get those in the mail? There will always be a bottleneck somewhere.

Or, maybe the queue will get so long that the entries toward the end will be converted to 4080's.

I appreciate that I have some hope of eventually getting a card without having to spam F5 on a bunch of different sites.  Also, I'm patient.  Excepted notification date for me is Christmas.

I take it no 3070 Ultras yet? Were these for the 3080 or 3090?
