As of Friday I was less than 5 minutes away from a 3080 TI FTW3 notification, which means I'd most likely get to the front of the queue this week, or next week at the latest. However, I got a 3060 XC3 back in February to hold me over until I got a 3080/3090-something. Fortunately, for me, I entered the 3060 XC3 into the step-up program and have already received an 3080 TI FTW3 (which means the queue notification would be useless anyway). If I had not, I would be operating in MIGHTY_PISSED_MODE right now. Arguably, changing the rules after the "game" has started is the most unfair thing you can do. Have a salty Monday!

This will have me looking at other brands before EVGA when it comes time to replace my card. Even with the great customer service. You should never change the rules mid game. I am sure you have lost a lot of your "old" customers with this decision. Hopefully your new customers will allow you to stay afloat.

pclausen Anyone that got notifications today are newbies that don't even know this forum exists...
Sourcing reports just got a LOT harder with today's news, no doubt.
has it? as far as I understand, they are going to keep the same priority, except for those that have already purchased a card, for us that haven't yet, the old report system works exactly the same.

OMG...come on guys, what are you thinking? I am 42 minutes away on a 3080 Ti for my spouse. I have been in line for months and diligently checking the forums and the timestamps waiting to see how long it might be. Now mid-stream you change the game. I am going to be punished because I bought a 3090 over a year ago. If you do not know what punishment is.....it is having to listen to this wretch of a hag gripe, complain and tell me how selfish I am because I kept the card I got last year instead of putting it in her rig. I thought I could make her happy by camping out, getting a que spot and then putting down hard earned money when my turn came up...but NOOOOO, game changed. Really disappointed in this decision. Someone from eVGA should check my account for the purchases I have made in the last 10 years...you might actually figure out what a real, loyal customer is. Sad day.

My heart goes out to anyone still waiting for a kingpin card but bought something to tide them over while they wait. There are quite a few people in here in that situation.

"Arguably, changing the rules after the "game" has started is the most unfair thing you can do." Probably the most reasonable feeling i have right now, the card i was able to get first from the queue was definitely not my first choice by any means but i bought any ways knowing how things were and still are, now i wont be able to get the card i actually want... EVGA will find out soon enough when the next crop of complainers springs up and they feel pressure to change the rules again... You are not going to win with people, because "fair" is subjective and relative to how it affects each person. Consistency and valuing the people who are on their 3rd, 4th, 5th generation of EVGA card, psu, or motherboard... that would be the smart play here IMO. But this, this is another way. This feels way more of a slap in the face then the "everyone's elite" debacle this spring. Enjoy the mess. I need to take a break from here anyways, and I am sure others will agree LOL. Good luck to everyone, hopefully it works out and everybody is magically satisfied with this.

Sorry for sounding dumb, but does this also take effect on the EU queue? Or only in the US? Thanks!

I believe if you brought a card from the queue before you should be penalized as follows 1. 3 Minutes on all other cards your are listed for in other queue (1 CARD BROUGHT) 2. 5 Minutes on all other cards your are listed for in other queue (2 CARD BROUGHT) 3. 10 Minutes on all other cards your are listed for in other queue (3 OR MORE CARDS BROUGHT) 4. Any card you have been waiting for over a year (365 days or more) NO PENALTY I'm sorry , But to just change the rules deep into this queue system is wrong. Thats my humble opinion .

what about the people who haven't been able to buy a 30 series card yet because they chose a card that is not being stocked anymore. are they given the chance to enter a new queue. and the idea that someone who entered a queue a week ago now gets priority over others who have been in it since the beginning seems wrong. maybe those who entered in the first month could get priority if they havent bought a card yet. and what about the people who received a notify but passed on it. why should they get priority. and it seems so fishy that we were told that even tho the queue was suspended that it wouldnt affect our queue position. and that poll that we voted in, why did they even do that

Just wait a while, complain enough, and maybe they will change the rules again... But it will probably favor the newest EVGA accounts, not the poor saps who queued last October for a SKU that was dead on launch.

EVGA is too smart to not already realize how this is affecting their most avid purchasers. There is some kind of calculated risk behind this decision that I'm struggling to understand. Maybe they are banking on their customer service carrying them which is logical. It has been and continues to be great. I keep going back to the fact that they didn't even have to offer a queue, but they did and for that I am grateful. They didn't need to do any of it so I'm not going to complain about something they don't even need to offer and can change however they want. I just feel like this is a large swing from the sentiment surrounding the system. For longtime members this is going from a "wow EVGA the queue is great. Thanks for doing it. There are some kinks, but you are awesome for the effort" to "Man the longtime avid members are getting royally screwed here. EVGA doesn't care about it's repeat customers". It started witht he elite nonsense and it's culminating with the change today.

Why did you have to bring Newegg into this, thats hitting below the belt, lol.

I am interested to know what you do with all of your free time now, enewt? This is really your best chance to quietly exit stage left. Seriously, I think that this could be good for some people who are waiting on cards. Then again, it will open up a world of opportunities for folks sitting on multiple notifies across their email horde. I could only speculate as to how many people have done this... and who are able to produce unique mailing addresses for each card (addresses that have not already been used). It feels like maybe this is a stretch of the imagination that so many people can actually pull that off. Either way, I feel very lucky to have scored my 3070 Ti (3785) right after the queue opened. Good luck to all of you who might get a chance at silicon bliss sooner than expected, and sorry for all of you who were about to score your dream card and are now stuck looking for alternative sources.

Been buying and recommending evga products for what feels like forever. A friend and I both have been in the queue for a year+ now. I fought with the website to queue for the ti's on the morning we were allowed to because he was unable to get online. My friends card died during his yearly queue wait, and I was able to secure a ti for him so we could play games again. Now I'm 16 seconds out on my hybrid that I have patiently waited for, and evga changes the rules.
It's your business and you can do as you please, but I will say it's Bad Form. You've permanently lost a customer.

So this new rule is going to screw me. I bought 2 3080's last year with my account thru the queue system. I went into the queue for a 3080 Ti to put in my computer and gave my son my other 3080 because I'm 3 minutes away from a 3080ti FTW3 card and now they are going to skip me because I already purchased a card that I want to upgrade? I have been waiting 4 months in the queue for that card.

Terrible decision by EVGA. I feel for those who "took what they could get" until it was their turn at the card they really wanted. Hopefully EVGA reverts back to the old system as this is going to leave a bad taste is a lot of people's mouths.

Great so all the scalpers who have been signing up with THOUSANDS OF FAKE ACCOUNTS over the last year will get all the cards. Good job Jacob. Why don't you just auction the cards on ebay yourself and cut out the middleman? CC: PM'D DIRECT TO JACOB.

I feel so sorry for all those who managed to grab a 3060 while waiting in line for a 3080 or 3090. I was lucky to score a 3090 so I cannot complain, but this REALLY sucks for those who have been waiting for, in some cases, a year or more for a 3080 or 3090 GPU. I can understand EVGA doing this from this date forward, but to enforce it retroactively is a huge slap in the face for thousands of existing customers. Even if EVGA made it retroactive for those in the 3080 queues who already got a 3080, or those in the 3090 queues that already purchased a 3090, that I could understand somewhat, but damn, punishing someone for buying a lesser card (like a 3060) while waiting in a queue for a better card (like a 3080 or 3090), that's just nasty. I bet those who purchased an EVGA 3060 while waiting for a 3080 or 3090 are now wishing they purchased AMD instead.

Believe me, it is on the agenda to discuss with enewt jr. when I pick her up from school today. Really interesting development and not sure exactly how to spin this one with her. We've committed to each other to see the effort through to the KPE HC, but because I did my brother a solid last fall (his gpu failed, he was/is a frontline hospital worker, he didn't have a working gaming computer to blow up virtual stuff to decompress after work...and I had my (now four year old) Alienware laptop, sob story continues), this may materially push me back farther in line.... I am trying to turn it into a teachable moment...and I plan to allude to the 2017 change in tax policy re deducting mortgage interest.... Nothing is guaranteed in life; try to retain as much flexibility as possible for as long as possible (that means not dating the first 5th grader that asks you out), you know, stuff like that. But, yeah, not sure if the summary is viable or helpful going forward...I'll probably give it a day or two to see if it just confuses everybody or actually still provides value.

Happily purchased even though I would have preferred a 3080. Came to this thread expecting celebration and I see people with multiple cards already feeling sad. Can't relate. Now when you get your card in the mail register it and join the step-up queue. With all the issues with 30xx cards I would also but the extended warranty is you usually keep cards for a while. The extended warranty will swap over to the step-up card when you get to step-up.
