I finally got a 3898 after waiting since 9/17. Yes, I passed on a couple of cards in the mean time and could have had either a 3897 or a 3090 hybrid back in December, but I did not really want an air cooled card and the 3090 is overkill since it would only be used for gaming. I'm good with the 3898 and will most likely pass on the TI in lieu of a future generation. The 3898 will easily be able to hold it's own for the next 4-5 years. And this is an upgrade from an EVGA 980SC, so I think I was due.

I can't say I agree with the 'self inflicted' point. The average consumer (gamer) does add to the problem - albeit relatively less significantly - but not comparable to miners. They are the ones who can pick up cards at crazy prices and still have these worth their while and money. The average gamer looking for an upgrade isn't the one driving up costs, I think. And the average gamer certainly can't lower these by a semi-boycott on ebay. That's my humble opinion. Thoughts, anyone?

They meant self-inflicted as in average gamers BUYING from scalpers is the problem. If everyone stopped buying from them, they would go away.

I just got an email today! A few hours ago. It hasn't been 8 hours yet.
 
HOWEVER, for some reason it just brings me to the cart.

I would respond to the email and give EVGA CS a call! They should be able to sort you right out :)

Sorry if you guys already got similar replies on here, but can someone make an educated guess into how long I'd have to wait until I get my precious email from EVGA notifying it's in stock?

My 3080 ti FTW3 Ultra arrives tomorrow. Just installed a new PSU as well.
 
Also enjoyed my Fractal Design Meshify C case tempered black glass panel shattering into a million pieces the instant I touched a screw - ticket opened with them.
 
Guess I'll have some added air-flow for awhile...lol
