Any word on a fix? I heard about it before mine even arrived this morning. Sure enough, mine has it.
VBIOS issue? Driver? Can't wait cuz it's annoying AF and not acceptable for a $700 American /$910 CAD piece of hardware.

To clarify for the record, fan revs up to extremely high rpm and back down again, randomly. Custom fan curve is ignored. It sounds like the ocean.

Sounds like EVGA will be releasing their hybrid AIO rather quickly with Nvidia's new "feature". Surely it will make a lot of customers happy being able to install the AIO on the "Founder's Edition".

I know the Gigabyte Windforce 960 had this issue. Apparently it never got fixed...

So much for EVGA and their renowned quality. Maybe I'll be checking out their renowned customer service. Unbelievable that these cards shipped with this issue.

Can EVGA even be blamed in the first place? Isn't this FE directly from Nvidia? I'm pretty sure every single FE branded card actually comes from Nvidia with the same BIOS settings, no?

That is my understanding. Although I think the board partners customize their bios, assuming based on nvidias.

But EVGA Hybrid is custom PCB, is it compatible with reference PCB?
That would be excellent news for many customers worldwide. I predict that EVGA will need to prepare a lot of Hybrids and not for their cards only. Because EVGA Hybrid is much better for me than MSI-CORSAIR solution. People were satisfied last year and Hybrid was real BooM.
Last year is not only problem efficiency of double or triple cooler, cards are hotter every year and now is task to remove all hot air out of case.
Hybrid on GPU and EVGA AIO on CPU could work without with only 2-3 fans on radiator, without single case fan and ambient temp will be excellent.

It effects all cards, from what if understood lot people returned swaped cards from msi to asus to whatever, they never got rid of the issue, from looks of it is a bios / driver issue.

This is NOT an EVGA issue, it is in the hands of Nvidia.  Go to Geforce.com and read the thread about this.  It effects all brands.

I hope it really is a bios/driver issue. If it requires doing an RMA to swap cards I might just ask for a refund. I'm loving the new card, other than this fan issue. I'm guessing this issue is going to explode this week when lots more people get their cards.

If you purchase the card from EVGA it is an EVGA issue as you can go nowhere else to request a solution

If it is a bios issue, NVIDIA wrote the initial bios.  EVGA has fixed bios issues in the past, and I am sure if it is something like that...iti will be rectified.  However, if it is a fan controller issue, that is up to Nvidia to make good to ALL who sell the card, from EVGA, Asus, MSI, PNY and everyone.  My concern is that even the ACX 3.0 versions of the card are going to be effected.

Hopefully we hear something by the end of the day. Frankly, it's hard to believe this isn't quickly reproducible by evga and nvidia. It's obviously not a rare issue.

nVidia is thanking you for speeding the extra $100 US on the FE version and gave you something special.

Well he said he was working with the software team, so I'm hoping that it will only need a new BIOS or driver update and that it isn't something intrinsically wrong with the hardware itself. But perhaps it still could be a hardware problem even after this.

And the answer is - "no one".  The software team is investigating but unless I missed something the jury is still out.  Hopefully it will be a software/bios issue that can be more easily addressed.

Yes you are correct, it is still an investigation. I jumped the gun a little and perhaps should have prefixed my statement with "I hope", apologies.

Just a software issue, good to know it'll not require getting a replacement.

Who said it was just a software issue?

And the answer is - "no one".  The software team is investigating but unless I missed something the jury is still out.  Hopefully it will be a software/bios issue that can be more easily addressed.

Yes you are correct, it is still an investigation. I jumped the gun a little and perhaps should have prefixed my statement with "I hope", apologies.

No apology needed. It's all good. Sorry if my response seemed pointed. Hoping for a good outcome as well.
