Why is not possible? something to do with UEFI bios? I think EVGA could come up with something like that if they wanted to put the coin into it. I would just like the sleep issue solved, the bios could be command line only for all I care... lol :)

I thought I'd follow up on this because I found out what was causing the 111c CPU issue for me...

BIOS 1.22: I was UEFI booting Windows 8, it was very unstable as the motherboard would forget it's association with the UEFI boot disk, Doctor Debug would be stuck on A0, and often the CPU sensor would stick on 111c requiring I power off my PSU (not just a system shut down) and back on again to clear it. The Windows 8 UEFI boot is simply not functional on this mobo with this BIOS.

I bought an SSD and moved my OS to it and boot legacy MBR style (not UEFI), and all my issues went away. No more CPU sensor stuck in the last two weeks, no Doctor Debug stuck at A0, no system issues what so ever.

Happy with my Z77 FTW!

I have the same issue on my Z77 Stinger and cycling the power on the power supply fixes it too.
Did you change Windows 8 to a legacy style? How did you do that?

Install Windows to another disk so you can work on your existing boot disk.

Mini Partition Tool Home Edition (free):
Delete UEFI partitions (gpt, recovery, efi)
Expand C: to entire disk
Convert GPT to MBR disk.

Run Windows repair advanced mode and fix mbr boot on original boot disk.

Done :)

can we expect new BIOS of our story is finished ignominiously...
I mean only no need to we look in Z77 FTW screen 4 times during boot and similar things.
Or we can finish Z77 saga...

And you are from Europe???
Z77 FTW is my first EVGA board too.
They lose confidence in motherboard section of people in Europe completely.
Small number probably with SR-2 have real good experience.
And people who never had EVGA motherboards are scary of stories.
I read over net they comment how look good and escape.

Update: But for graphic cards no one can tell me nothing.
People are satisfied in graphic cards and they look fantastic same as motherboards.
I though except graphic cards I can count and on EVGA motherboard somehow for 100% working, not best of best but without problems.
Because that is real experience when both is from EVGA.

Usually enthusiast go on EVGA graphic card if they are NVIDIA fans and because they are best and on ASUS motherboards. Most of people say that is best combination.
Many people from Europe like I say try first X79 and Z77 FTW motherboard and finished with their motherboards but for graphic cards really no reason to worry.
EVGA made best possible hardware only that BIOS is crap and I think motherboards destroy EVGA name.
I only think how they will manage with X99, new chipset, Extreme, customers expect lot, DDR4....
I was really really happy because I stop with ASUS and ...
You decide Z87, for me that can't bring nothing except maybe better motherboard and hotter CPU with less score when OC to the MAX.
I wait that X99. Because no money for X79 and than again for X99 and Haswell E is important to me.

So when is the next BIOS update? Also will EVGA still be bring more updates to the table even thou they now have their z87 boards to take over the use to be new z77 platform? I hope EVGA does not do what ASUS does. Which ASUS stops updates to all old boards when a new platform emerges.

I don't expect nothing more. Now when my graphic card came from USA first I need to see what to do with motherboard if problem starts. It's very very stupid thing If I need to change something new day before DDR4. I mean for me is that day, because 3770K is so strong for gaming and only thinking on spend money on something because of that is stupid. But I have no confidence in this mobo at all. But now is first graphic in plan than everything else.
We are forgotten story and they I think want to forget on Z77 soon as possible.

Re:EVGA Z77/Z75 Motherboards - BIOS 1.22 Released 2013/07/29 23:59:15 (permalink)
I hope they will release a 1.23 BIOS, but honestly i think they forget about the Z75/Z77 series because they got their new Z87 series out...

I have a Z75 SLI and had some problems with Windows 8 64bit. The PC always suffered from restarts. And i had the problem with the sleep mode. It never worked. Switched back to Windows 7 64bit and the problems with the restarts got solved, still i can't use the sleep mode.

Which is a bit disappointing. I bought the Z75 SLI because i thought it would be a very sophisticated board, but the BIOS is not the best. Had some problems (freezes) with Asus boards (P5Q-Deluxe and P5N-T Deluxe), so i switched to EVGA. Always used their graphics cards and never had a problem, and they work really well, but unfortunately this doesn't apply to the mainboards, at least my Z75.

Re:EVGA Z77/Z75 Motherboards - BIOS 1.22 Released 2013/07/30 07:25:29 (permalink)
When you have restarts?
In some special applications or in idle, games, ... when?
Yea we choose wrong time to cross on EVGA.
It's not problem in future I have confidence to buy again EVGA but I feel bad because I choose wrong time and now need to wait some better moment.
In this moment is priority GPU after that I will sit and think what is best decision for me.

Every motherboard after at least 3-6 months you know what she can exactly.
And everything else depend of hardware you choose and specification of other things.
This I don't know, always can make some surprise, as she have own decisions.
I still do not know she. I did not meet her after more than year.

Like I say before only try of different RAM, example 2x4GB can push you in half hour of problems and fight for boot even with old working RAM.  After some time and sometimes install BIOS again, or necessary press CMOS button few times she boot and than you are happy because and something work and I think Huh don' touch anything now everything work.
I didn't want that. For me is Intel symbol of investment in something stable, expensive and at least 3 years.

But some symptoms show up in last 6 months.
Not before that.

Off course graphic card only EVGA, that problem only can be my bad luck and that is not reason to think bad about manufacturer.
When people over world are super satisfied  with EVGA GPU.
If products are excellent and other people are satisfied I have no problems even if I had bad luck with every peace of hardware.
That is simply bad karma not reason to change something what you like.

Restarts appeared about 10 min after starting Windows 8. Especially when i turned on the PC after a long shutdown (e.g. after night). Happened both in idle and games... It just turned off, no bluescreen or something, like a power loss. I checked everything, all cables, switched the PSU, checked my RAM, HDD, etc, switched GPU, even the mainboard itself (via RMA). No Malware, Virus, etc. Tried another Geforce Driver. Re-installed Windows. Has not achieved anything.

So went back to Windows 7 and the problem got solved. Don't know what was going on there. It's always difficult to figure out what the problem is.

No help for that except cross on other platform.
And that is somehow not right time for choose something for people with 3770K.
I would rather to spend 350-400 on motherboard if she support 6 core Intel and DDR4 than now.

Re:EVGA Z77/Z75 Motherboards - BIOS 1.22 Released 2013/07/31 07:47:45 (permalink)
Although i had problems, I'm pretty happy with my system now. Windows 7 is a great OS. Next investment will be a SSD, which was the reason i made the upgrade to the Z75 series. My old board only supported SATA II.

It would be nice if EVGA would fix the problem with the sleep mode. But if not, i can live with it too. I don't use it very often.

Intel 6 Core CPU is nice, but the 3770K is so powerful, even at 3.5 GHz. No reason to upgrade for the next few years :-)

Intel Core i7 3770K @ 3.5GHz - Noctua NH-U9B SE2 - EVGA Z75 SLI - 2x 8GB DDR3-1600 Corsair Vengeance - 550W be quiet! I wait graphic card because my ATI5870 is dead.
I mean she is dead for 3D application and I prey that is graphic card problem.
When I start any game,I mean any 3D application, Ungine Heaven, game immediately after max 1min I lose picture and PC restart.
In idle everything work and I test in Prime95 on 4.8GHz that work. But how I touch games PC restart. I saw once only picture freeze and resolution was as 640x480.
I can look movies and surf now...and wait new graphic card.
It's OK when hardware work 3 years and more that is absolutely OK for me.
I mean no reason for bad feeling because gamers use that few hours every day...

After that I must decide. IB-E or waiting Haswell or I don't know...
If you look SSD I suggest Neutron GTX, Force GS, and Intel launch new series 530.

_____________________________________________________________
Bad thing is because I can't use Internal Graphic cards now because problem with black screen from beginning until new came.
At least for some games. I will try more to start that somehow.

So are their going to be anymore BIOS updates for this platform? I am assuming no because of the new Z87 platform. Well I am assuming because ASUS, MSI, and Gigabyte typical stop updating older platform BIOSs when a new one is released.

Re:EVGA Z77/Z75 Motherboards - BIOS 1.22 Released 2013/08/30 20:56:07 (permalink)
Well I am not going to forget. I paid good money on this board. Plus I plan to keep it for at least another 2 years. This board gives me everything that I want on a motherboard. Also there is no point in me upgrading my CPU. The only reason I would update my CPU is to say look at me I am tech savvy.

Yes now no point to upgrade really.
Only I would like to our board work as X79 Dark.
I hope next time than.
Yes I agree, it's hard to forget when you pay lot of money do everything to find exactly that board and probably worse board over 100$ on market.
I will not stay 2 year. I will stay until next Extreme generation.
I don't plan something super expensive on memory field 4X4 would be enough, but motherboard fully capable to read almost every XMP, better synchronization and same distance to memory controller for every memory module. That deserve high end system with i7, both, extreme or mainstream.
Nothing else. This can and AMD.
I plan to sell than this i7-3770k and Z77 FTW and invest in new motherboard.
And upgrade would be new CPU with DDR4 support.
