I would love if EVGA realize something good for Haswell Extreme, chipset X99. But something really special to remember, example
SR-2 and X58 quality... That would be excellent, and if follow and implement last technology and best hardware and have idea on time that is possible.

The A0 problem isn't just that the LED is wrong, but that the CPU fan controller sees that temp, freaks out, and pins the fan speed at 100%. This gets a wee bit loud.

I updated today and I just can't get my ram to run xmp no matter what I do. It worked fine with 1.21. My ram should run at 2133 / 1.5.

The only way I can get it to run at 2133 is if its user defined. But then it runs at 1.7.

I dont know what else to do.

Hello, I possess a mobo z77 stinger and in spite of all your techniques to fall in love bios that this does not want to update, he(it) stays bios of January 29th, 2013, I wonder if the mobo is not failing, would have you a solution to remedy this problem

I tested since the office(desk) and here is the problem:

With this technique

by respecting your recommendations the pc goes out and during the ignition nothing changed

And for the solution with the key usb during the boot on that this the computer jams on a line of command(order) " C: / " and I am obliged to restart

The mobo would have she(it) one problem technique? One thing's for sure, it is because I am really disappointed by the mark(brand)
Thank you in advance

Have you tried this method through command prompt? This is how I update my BIOS.

First download the latest BIOS from our website (http://www.evga.com/support/download/)
Next create a folder in your C:\ drive called BIOS.
Extract all the files in the ZIP folder to C:\BIOS (Note: just copy the files themselves and the sub-folders.  Do not put the files in a folder in the BIOS folder.)
Under Start->All Programs->Accessories right click on the Command Prompt icon and select "Run as administrator".
Type CD\ (Enter)
Type CD BIOS (Enter)
Type fptwin(32/64).bat (Enter)

Today I went to update to the bios 1.22, was quietly, but there was a bug in the CPU temperature sensor, it shows me to 55C while the cores 35 to 38C, and the post led it shows exactly the same thing, the 55C would have any way to fix this?

Well bud just to let you know the temprature sensor on our board is not even accurate and in fact was never accurate in the first place. On my temp sensor it says 45 but my temps on Realtemp display that my cores are running at 28C. I think the temp sensor just indicates how hot the CPU socket is. But with your issue is it always stuck at 55C?

Re:EVGA Z77/Z75 Motherboards - BIOS 1.22 Released 2013/04/29 04:52:03 (permalink)
Exactly.
Before the upgrade was between 20C to 25C at IDLE, and kept at 40 to 45C in FULL, so no overclocking. When upgrading the BIOS, it was 50C to 55C in stock on processor temperature. I believe that only the cpu sensor has a problem, because now overclocked to 4.5GHz v 1.3 is 65C in full, while in this 45C to 55C nuclei. This update 1:22 spawned some problem on the sensor of my cpu.
Thanks for the help.

I definitely back on 1.17 BIOS and no chance to try to update any more. That BIOS is best for me and I will stay on that.
Really no reason to update and if or when show up.

No need to worry. Downgrading to back to an older BIOS will not cause any problems. The only problem you can get is if you update your BIOS wrong. But ya try doing that and tell us what happens. My temp sensor fluctuates up and down depending on the temp in my room. But I would not worry about the temp sensor anyways bud. The main thing is to worry about is if your post code read out is working properly. But honestly for me I have no issues whatsoever with  BIOS 1.22 I am still trying to figure out what could be the issue with other people. Like Vlada says a lot of people prefer BIOS 1.17. I wonder if it could be my setup? By the way do you have the latest motherboard drivers? I had a bunch of issues when I was using old board drivers. They were conflicting with the new BIOS updates.

You know what's weird?
I did the installation at 1.22 bios bios 1 and the other, let the old bios. Upon returning to the other bios, kept at the same temperature: (Bought new fans because mine are bad, but I'm sure there's something on the sensor.

Re:EVGA Z77/Z75 Motherboards - BIOS 1.22 Released 2013/05/07 18:43:04 (permalink)
Hello Jacob.  I have the new 1.22 version now.  two items please.
1.   Will you please have the simple line put in all future bios instructions to "disable user account control before attempting update" when used w/ late windows Operating Systems?  I do believe that simple thing would save a number of tech calls.  Thank you

2.   Where can I get actual information on what all the many things in the bios actually mean and what the various possible setting interferances may be?  I see nothing on EVGA site.  Even internet searches all seem to end up in an amateur place of quessing or with the admonition to "look up the vendors information" or some such.  I have to imagine a pdf or some such must exist somewhere that actually will explain the true functions (and decoding) of bios settings.  I actually think a number of customers would benefit by the explaination of such things.  Once more, thank you for any help.  RAC

Hello, I always meet problems to update bios, I wondered if there is no incompatibility with Windows 8 or then my mobo is failing?

I am very disappointed by this mark(brand), I am going to have to acquire(buy back) a mobo asus which has never disappointed me in 12 years

Not to say that it wouldn't be ideal if every manufacturer always released updates for every new rendition of an operating system, but to be honest it's kind of the name of the game when you run the most recent. Just my personal opinion but I would usually hold off on upgrading to a newer operating system until the compatibility is there. With that said I'm not impressed with windows 8 and it'll be getting the same treatment as windows vista. I stayed with XP until windows 7 was released.

p.s. Are you making sure to clear cmos/setting optimum defaults before you run the program?

Re:EVGA Z77/Z75 Motherboards - BIOS 1.22 Released 2013/05/15 14:55:14 (permalink)
Offering some feedback. Just bought my z77 FTW 5/11.
Bios 1.22. CPU Temp stuck at 111c LOL. CPU Core Temps fluctuate in the 30's idle.  This 111c temp reads this way in eLeet and Aida64. From within the BIOS the CPU Temp looks normal, low 40c range.

I think my CPU fan is max RPM due to this, so I'm thinking this BIOS needs to be repaired. I'm going to try 1.17.
-------------
Tried BIOS 1.17 and it had issues with my RAM's XMP profile, it also didn't fix the CPU temp at 111c, so back to 1.22.
It's a significant annoyance to have the CPU fan spiked at 100 percent, sure I could use the bios to set it lower, but I'd loose the higher speeds when needed.

I have a registered copy of Aida64 and shot them an email, perhaps there is something they will understand about this sensor which I can relate back to EVGA if it'll help them any.

New BIOS please to fix this, apparently other people are having this issue too. Perhaps set the JCPU fan control to CPU Package instead of the motherboard sensor?

----------------------
5/20/2013
Powering down and turning off the PSU then cycling again fixes the stuck CPU Temp sensor :)
It happened again, but cycling it this way works.

----------------------
6/4/2013
I thought I'd follow up on this because I found out what was causing the 111c CPU issue for me...

BIOS 1.22: I was UEFI booting Windows 8, it was very unstable as the motherboard would forget it's association with the UEFI boot disk, Doctor Debug would be stuck on A0, and often the CPU sensor would stick on 111c requiring I power off my PSU (not just a system shut down) and back on again to clear it. The Windows 8 UEFI boot is simply not functional on this mobo with this BIOS.

I bought an SSD and moved my OS to it and boot legacy MBR style (not UEFI), and all my issues went away. No more CPU sensor stuck in the last two weeks, no Doctor Debug stuck at A0, no system issues what so ever.

Happy with my Z77 FTW!

I updated to this Bios hoping that it would solve the sleep issue as well, yet there is no solution. Now, I cannot run my ram on XMP1 which has worked flawlessly since day 1. I bought this board in July of 2012 with confidence, almost a year later I have the same issues. Why isin't this addressed?

Re:EVGA Z77/Z75 Motherboards - BIOS 1.22 Released 2013/05/25 13:04:54 (permalink)
1.22 is the only version that my XMP 1.2 profile works on :D

Yeah, I'm new to this mobo, and it's taken time for it to sink in...

BUGS!

Still the best PCIe layout for my video card & disk needs :)

I upgraded a while back in hoped it fixed the sleep issue too. However I have come to find it does not fix the problem. Next Bios coming soon EVGA?

I updated to this Bios hoping that it would solve the sleep issue as well, yet there is no solution. Now, I cannot run my ram on XMP1 which has worked flawlessly since day 1. I bought this board in July of 2012 with confidence, almost a year later I have the same issues. Why isin't this addressed?

I purchased the motherboard as well in July of 2012, a good 4 months or more after it was released thinking most of the major bugs have been worked out. Heh boy was I wrong. It is running much better now. But, the sleep issue getting fixed is really left desired by me. I do have SSD drives, which in most systems boots very quickly and simply out weighs the sleep/hibernation feature anyways. Well this board also seems to take forever to boot into windows. The splash screens comes up about 3 times before it finally boots into windows. I think most people just get the splash screen 2 times, but since I am using the RAID 0 feature via the chipset, I get a 3rd Z77 splash screen. So again the sleep feature would be great to have. Hopefully EVGA is still thinking of us Z77 customers, and plan to release a few more Bios updates. If not I would gladly trade up to the Z87 board just to get away from the sleep issue. It is really annoying, it is further more annoying because every other single computer I know of doesn't have this problem. Just this ultimate, enthusiast, luxurious  board does??? Paid a big premium on the board, as did the rest of you, a simple feature like this should easily be fixed. I wanted to get the ASUS board, but I am not taking a 300 some dollar hit. I'm invested in this board and will make the best of it, however it may alter my future decisions to purchase EVGA motherboards. Don't get me wrong, love the company, love the support. But this little problem drives me nuts.

My XMP1 profile works just fine, but it might be because I have different memory. I have owned a few Mushkin kits, wasn't real impressed by their product.  But I have yet to hear from anyone with an SSD drive or even a mechanical drive for that matter that claims the sleep/hibernation feature works.

Everything work for now, no complains.
I wait to buy graphic card than I will OC little 3770K.
Not much 4.5GHz.
Who would not to trade for Z87, but nobody is such crazy do that.
Do you see Z87 Classified and features???
She and new worth more than our new.
I hear complains about Haswell OC, temps are lower, that is good.
Only if Haswell OC like Sandy Bridge people will forget everything and less performance increase.
I hope that for OC is not true, at least as our. And IB is OK overclocker If you ask me.
