pimpx Finally a buildzoid video on the dark. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q6vtSwFEUVs
Wished he would of talked about the VRM. He's doing a live overclocking session tomorrow, sunday at 1pm EST "VRM analysis coming separately! Note that we are planning an overclocking livestream for Sunday at 1PM EST. Follow us on twitter (@GamersNexus) to get updates on the stream date and time. Link to the EVGA Z390 DARK in the description above. Did he post that live OC session? I expect his end conclusion to basically say... "This board is really good"
He did not. The way he wrote it was misleading. He overclocked a video card. I was disappointed. The notification about a livestream should of been independently said and not next to the z390 dark.

Yea that's kind of silly. To be honest though, I don't think we need a review of the Mobo's OC'ing ability. We all know what it's capable of at this point. What would be beneficial is a greater breakdown of what settings and adjustments can be fine tuned to achieve a higher and/or more stable OC. When I say greater breakdown, I mean really getting into the weeds.

I think that's what Tin and kingpin will do in the OC lab area of the forum.

Does anyone know how to get the second LED debug display to actually display info or do we have to wait for a bios update?

I have a feeling the left LED is just for if your sensor setting reaches 3 digits. So like a CPU temp of 100, left LED would show the "1", right LED would show the "00".

Do any overclocking with it? I also have the z390 FTW and will be pulling it out to test it today. I have the Gigabyte Master Z390, so I will be interested to see what I can get out of my 9900k on this board.

I've ordered it January 21 through Amazon.com because through Evga official it wasn't delivered in France, i've had to pay fees about 45€, so the total was: 268€ vat in, but now i've just seen Evga has released an European website (EU EVGA) and it seems to be available to buy this board and delivering in Europe !!! edit: i've joined the website link with the product to buy to show you but in my post this link doesn't appear sorry i've however made all right !!!!

Yeah i'm very proud of it moreover i've got the Evga GTX 1060 Superclocked 6Gb so i've got the right pack !!! I've just tested a minor o/c --> target cpu x47 vcore auto, the only sad thing is that i can't o/c my 4x4Gb Ballistix Elite 3200, i'm only able to set the xmp profile 1 and as soon as i try to set manually even a tiny o/c when reboot --> black screen despite recopying the exact timings and subtimings... moreover this board doesn't seem to have a crash free o/c settings like my previous asrock amd ddr3 that's to say when setting wrong o/c the board boots inspite of that after 3 times unsuccessful power on, whereas with this Evga even though trying to boot 20 times my screen remains black only fans spinning... hopefully there's the clear cmos button but my enclosure is placed at the very bottom of my desk and the i/o pannel is hard to access !!! When mountig my rig friday...

Gz on the board hope you have fun with it. bsch3r was asking about the z390 dark though, which is not even listed on the EVGA EU page yet. @bsch3r keep in mind the Apex does not have m.2 except through Dimm.2, which if used will result in your PCIe slot for gfx running x8 instead of x16. So unless you are really going for LN2 XOC and not using a m.2 drive, the Gene seems a better solution. Personally I am not sure why they spent all the time and effort making this board for the Z390 platform if all they were after are the honors and accolades XOC'rs will get since they obviously don't give a rat's ass about regular consumers, instead of just making a board for the 28 core Xenon W-3175X since that is where the action will be at in the benchmarks.

Well, I thought I would report back on my Z390 FTW testing. I am about an hour into Prime95 AVX enabled. 9900k is at 5.0 ghz, AVX 0, 1.35 vcore, 75% vdroop, XMP profile. All other settings are on default. The best I could ever get out of my Gigabyte Master Z390 was 4.9 ghz on the same chip. I'm beginning to think the whole VRM phase count is all hype for us modest overclockers.

Yeah i really enjoy this wonderful mainboard i try minor o/c settings just 30mn ago with my 9600k: target frequency: 4,8ghz offset: 3 (so this means it can handle 4,8ghz on one core at 1,16v) vcore: auto xmp profile 1 3200mhz for my 4x4gb ballistix elite but i manage to o/c at 3333mhz 16-18-18-36-416 tfrc Oh ok i thought he was interested in the FTW not the Dark...

So it seems the FTW is better than your Gigabyte for o/c, so what will you do, you will sell it ? there's no point in keeping two z390 mainboards for one 9900k !!

I haven't decided if I will keep the board or not because I have two other chips that will work in the board. . I will be keeping the FTW in my main rig. Always been an EVGA fanboy, but I was a little worried about this iteration when my Z370 couldn't handle my 9700k.

Well, it is stable, but I noticed the temps are high. According to the newest version of E-leet, my vcore is going well over 1.4, with my vcore only set at 1.32. Lots of fluctuation in vcore, which is disappointing.

What a pity for you for my case i haven't installed any Evga softwares at all neither precision nor eleet, i've done a gentle o/c and the bios of my mobo and the one of my graphics card monitores voltages and speedfan perfectly: most of the time the fan of my 1060 superclocked is at 0 in idle and temps 33°c and the Pure Rock monitored through the "smart" option of the z390 ftw is very silent and the debug led reports most of the time 22°c in idle

I had a power outage last week in my home. Since then I'm having a hard time keeping my memory OC stable, if I try to boot up my previous 4500 setting, system would end 99% of time in boot loop and I'd need to for example to boot up first with 4400 into windows, then go back into bios and load the 4500 setting to make it work. do you think my board got damaged? RMA?
