This has been a strange experience running this new Bios. I had better overclocking the BCLK with the old code. So I am toying with the standard 100 BCLK and 43X multi with tighter mem timing. So far I have been able to get my quad ram to 9-8-8-24-1t at 1600.   There are new options on the ram that I have no Idea what to do with.

Whats  the deal with the DDR3 ram, im seeing some at 2T and others at 1T, may be something to to do with the Quad channel set up I expect, thought most ddr3 was set to run its specific timings at 1T.. Please advise

Should run at 1T as my quad ram has been all along. I did notice when I used the BCLK 133 Auto setup it dropped it to 2T. Currently running 9-8-8-24 1T at 43x100 4.3Gig Had it this way for several days with no issues. I ran the XMP-1600 setting 1st, then manually set them even tighter, so you might as well.

I had the XMP profile set on mine and still had to go into bios and manually set the command rate to 1t and all is good. Have a question, since you can update bios thru windows, with system up and running can you select a different bios on motherboard switch and update that bios, while system is up and running on current bios?

Yes, that is how you do it for flashing a bios to a new position from within Windows/
While in windows, move the selector to the position you want to flash, then flash from windows and when the system shuts down and you power back on, you will be posting from the new bios flash in the new position.

I have flashed both 2.08 and 2.09 for the Dark board in this way with no issues.
Only thing is I need to start making notes of which bios is in which position so I know for future reference.

Went ahead and updated to 2.04 on my FTW bios #3. Board came with 2.01 on position #2. First attempt files wouldn't extract, system is not overclocked other than memory set to XMP profile. Started researching and thought it might be a crc issue, did a restart, rechecked settings in bios and tried again. This time it worked flawlessly. Went ahead and rebooted system hit F1 and booted into bios and found it very unresponsive to mouse or keyboard inputs, settings can be changed but with severe lag. Rebooted into windows and system definitely took a performance hit its noticeably less responsive. May need to spend more time tweaking it but wasn't too impressed so went back to 2.01 for now.

Ok, since settings were at default other than memory set at xmp profile I didn't think it was an issue, also showed a successful load. It went thru the full erase/load sequence as it should. Will try again at some point, may just wait for the next bios update and load it on bios1. I will note I did see some more realistic board temps with 2.04 as 2.01 was about 10c cooler than actual cpu temp. Hey bcav, do you have any clearance issues on your FTW running sli in slots 1 and 4? As I understand those are the only 2 16x slots and 4 is the problem. 1 and 3 would have been the cat's a** but those only come up as 16 and 4, so slot 3 is only good for 4pcie lanes,?< Oh and im all about manual overclocking its just nice to have that xmp load right up the memory's optimal settings. Oh and that tri-sli dual loop system you have there is SWeeeeeT!

Update to experience with new bios. Did a hard reset today re-entered bios and found it to be functioning normal and system is running as it should, stability is fine. Was able to make adjustments as required with no lag. Maybe I was being impatient and missed something before but it is now good to go and im happy with it. Thanks

I set my bios Bluetooth/off, e-sata/off, 1394/off and disabled all boot options except my windows hard drive set as first boot option and it boots pretty quick, haven't timed it but its quick.

I will have to say this Bios is working very well for me since I moved my USB 2.0 devices to the aux header near the PCI slots. Even with my timings at 9-8-8-24-1T, it's all very smooth.

Thanks again EVGA for sticking with it.

Are you positive all settings are the same as before the update? Just turned on Real Temp GT while typing this and I'm averaging 25 deg between the 4 cores.

That is me in the picture, anyone else ever pet a live Lion?

What activity do you show at idle with CPU-z? Might try flashing it again, in case it did not take properly.

What does the Bios screen say the bus speed is when on the main screen? Have you forced any speed settings in the PCI-e section of the Bios?

Your ram timings look quite tame for only 37X. I have mine running 9-8-8-24-128 1T and I'm at 43X.
Other than that, we are running identical (except the added cpu voltage for my O/C)
