Got the measurements, and by the end of the weekend i will FINALLY be home. Then I have some BSOD's on my CAD computer that my wife may have had something to do with (grrr)

Nate I would like to sincerely thank you for making this part. I recently joined the forum after ordering a Dark Mobo (which arrived today). She will be on air cooling to start but this will be my first liquid cooling build. I have heard nothing but GREAT things about your work. I was running 4.5Ghz on air with my E8400 (Good mobo, cooler, running lots of voltage but not 'TOO MUCH'). VERY hot yet stable. I finally feel I am satisfied with air and it is time to move on. This time I have a CLEAN brass car radiator to use. It was 'free' and I suspect the rad can be fanless and still cool! I am likely 2 - 4 months away from the conversion to water, but I am stoked. I will be buying one of your waterblocks to ensure I do not miss out on the opportunity. Thanks again

Very simple design and I'm sure quite effective! Knowing this will be available for purchase leans me towards purchasing a Dark over Asus X79 in the next few weeks. Looking good!

nateman-doo, question for you, what copper are you using? Soft? Half Hard? Hard? I have access to engraving machines/CNC's (used to run them when I was younger) and am thinking about making a block for my GTX780. Also, what are you using for your ring seals on your blocks? Thanks in advance bud

Cu110 (99.9% pure), so I guess I would consider it soft. The O-rings are Buna-N

I'd love to help, but I wont be getting the board much before October. I do have another question though. Will this block come with a clear or black top?

It can come with whatever top. Black Delrin I think is the best overall material for waterblock tops. Even when I use polycarbonate (lexan aka "bullet proof glass") tops, the material can still crack, but its much better then plain jane acrylic. So here is a picture of what the block will look like on the board, from the top down in CAD:

I try to do batch type of work, its easier. It takes quite a bit of work designing and prototyping so its easier to spread the costs of that amongst more people

Yes, its great news. While having 3d models help, there is no substitute for the real thing. I have the first chunk of copper ordered. I will bang out an aluminum prototype, calculate some rough pricing, and start seeing who is seriously interested.

I will certainly post the machine pictures! I will post pictures throughout the entire process. Due to the size of this block i will be able to make a bunch at a time. The bottom will start off life as a 1/2" thick solid chunk of Cu110 copper (99.9% pure) and will be extruded, with an acetal copolymer top (or delrin, copper or whatever) the standard will be black delrin since I get that stuff in "bulk" so to speak.
Still have to pick up a fixture plate for the manufacturing process. Aluminum or steel...that is the question...

I figure if I can going to spend a few hundred dollars in parts I may as well do it right (as I enjoy trying to overclock as far as possible). Plus I will be using a Brass car rad (it's free, clean, huge and neat!) so it would be silly to not buy this mobo block from you I have a vacation planned for early to mid September, so I do not know if I can afford to buy one before Oct. It depends how much I spend while I am away. BUT I AM DEFINITELY BUYING ONE! Please I'm new here and I signed up on the forum after buying a DARK mobo (after fantasizing about it for some long months).

Im thinking of trying a copper topped option. Would anyone be interested, or just Delrin?

I haven't said this before, but I'm going to say it now because I've seen your waterblocks in past threads. This is a very cool thing that you do. If the day comes to where I need a custom waterblock, I think I know who to ask first. ;)

nateman_doo Im thinking of trying a copper topped option. Would anyone be interested, or just Delrin? I'd be happy with the Delrin top, I will nickle plate the base and probably engrave the Delrin top and paint fill the text red to match the DARK's IO cover plate. Although, having a full nickle plated block would be sweet too but if i engrave the top, the red text wouldn't stand out on the nickle as much as it would on the black Delrin. I think the Black Delrin would match the rest of the board better as well. Yep, just plain Delrin for me thx nateman.
