sgtsmoke I've been running on bios SZ2Z on my original x58 vanilla (132-BL-E758-A1). Should I be worried about flashing it straight to 83? Having viewed the changelog (great job btw), there's so many updates I've neglected. Will flashing to 83 instantly bring me up to speed and/or is that sort of flash troublesome in any way? You do not need to install any other BIOS other than 83. Honestly, if there isn't anything that you need I wouldn't bother flashing. If you have a power surge you could brick your board till you get a new BIOS chip. That is really the only bad thing that could happen.

Thanks love. I'm about to reef my drives and do some long overdue maintanence on my comp. Figure this is a good time to get up to speed. Never had problems flashing bios in the past and if I brick it I'll have an excuse to build a new rig, lol. Thanks again and have a Happy Holidays!

Keep in mind that some of the default voltages have changed (I think) since that BIOS, so pay extra attention to your voltage settings before and after. Also, a number of new memory timings have been added. You may have to play with those to find the right settings for your system. It's a good thing you checked out the changelog, so you know where to look to find which new voltages and timings have been added. Good luck!

Are you sure you are not making a mistake and actually referring to 10.5.1.1070? It seems like too much coincidence that the last three parts of the revision number would all be exactly the same... As far as I know the absolute latest Intel OROM is 11.5.0.1111 which I think I already modded into the BIOS I posted here, no?

Flashed 83 from a CD this week from SZ2E and upgraded to 12Gb of memory. I reset all the speeds and voltages after a smooth first boot on the new BIOS. No problems. Everything went smooth. I even kicked up the 24/7 CPU speed a bit and all of ht etemps are good. Thanks EVGA for the update.

If the upcoming RST that allows TRIM to function in a RAID array requires an OROM update, I do not see how eVGA could possibly refuse a new BIOS.

I was on the original bios for the E759.... maybe I flashed once early early on. Everything has been great. Installed a Revo Drive that needed Bios 82 or 83. Flashed to 83 and everything is normal as can be. I have not tried to overclock it to H and back but i'm still running my 3.9 24/7 without missing a beat. If I get some time i'll run it up the flagpole and see If I can hit 4.6+ again.

My only beef with 83 BIOS is that it if you put 2 HDD's in RAID 0 using Intel Controller and you also do 2 HDD's in RAID 0 using the JMICRON controller, even if you're OS is on the Intel controlled HDD's, BIOS 83 always favors the JMICRON array as primary boot drives. So annoying! I did go into BIOS and change the boot priority which fixed the problem. But the JMICRON array is my backup and sometimes i physically remove the drives. When i put them back into the machine, once again BIOS 83 automatically switches back to using the JMICRON drives as my main boot drives even though there is no OS on them.
