Hi folks,
I have been having a pleasant experience going through EVGA's support for my SLI compatibility issue with my GTX 970 SSC's (04G-P4-3975-KR and 04G-P4-3979-KB).  I am wanting to know which one I should keep and which one I should exchange?  I have some pics of them, and the two cards are as follows on techpowerups site.  I brought up these pages by looking up my cards through gpu-z.
http://www.techpowerup.com/gpudb/b3156/evga-gtx-970-ssc-acx-2-0
http://www.techpowerup.com/gpudb/b3218/evga-gtx-970-ssc-acx-2-0-best-buy-exclusive

What real differences are there between the cards?  Anyone have any opinions on the outputs?

The 04G-P4-3975 tends to be better.

If you got the 3979kb from bestbuy, see if you can exchange it for another 3975kr. Then you can sli the 2 3975 krs

Without comparing them I'd not hesitate to get rid of the one labeled " best-buy-exclusive".

Right on, so 3 votes for keeping the 3975-KR eh?
And yeah I like what Heini2 said about the "best-buy-exclusive" weird labeling.  For that odd reason, it seems odd to me also to have something like that around!  I gives me a weird feeling that I bought into some weird marketing scheme!

Ok, if there are no other opinions, I think I will go and trade in the best buy one for another 3975-kr.

Nice,
Well I already started the RMA process and that has been speeding right along, so I'll go with that for now. :)

Not the greatest card but during torture tests my old 3979-kb hit 1658 and 1700 mhz. Good luck with the rma!

I would go with the card with the 1x6pin and 1x8pin. I have a later release date, and would possibly have some updated features/components that the older card might not

Yep, the 6+8pin power connectors are for the 3975!  So that's the one I'm going with!
Also, wow DA74!  That is some serious OC out of the card!  Just on air?

Newegg does this too but they don't label it as such. I've looked in PCPartpicker and seen like cards with different numbers, click on the links and one show up on Newegg only. If /when EVGA gets a good sound card and case available I'll probably build a new machine with EVGA parts exclusively.

EVGA support was very nice to work with!  They sent me a 3975-KR to replace the best buy one and I am SLI'ing now!  They were prompt and fairly quick to ship my card back as well!
