Yup, RTX by nature it seems as some other features in the past, never increase your FPS but decrease it since it will tax your GPU for the work it does and since this seems like a pretty big feature, I think you'll lose some FPS but let's just hope the raw performance is there to balance things out which we'll have to wait too long for this imo.  Sept. 20th will lift the NDA on benches?

Hope aint worth the money they are asking.
But, i do hope its better than the vid of Tomb Raider. There is not even any action in the vid.. just climb up a wall, and look at the sky and surroundings for 34fps.
Not very encouraging.

With the 20th basically a month off we have to take it on their word that this will perform.

What bother's me is why are they waiting so long for the release and info on the 2070?  Remember, reviewers will most likely get the GPU to test and bench just prior to the 2070 being ready so we might wait 1-2 months AFTER the 20th of Sept.  This is all too fishy for me and I can see if it did come out at the same time with everything else, there's a high probability everyone flipping the bird to the rest of the series and grabbing a $500 GPU.

I'm also hearing that NVLink is disabled on the 2070 which is unfortunate to hear, which makes this even more puzzling.  My guess is, it would have been too much of a threat to the higher priced SKUs, presuming you can combine VRAM in SLI.

What?  Nvidia intentionally gimping there own product?   For the sake of sales?    Got to be pulling on my leg.

Wccftech - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Performance Previewed – Delivers Well Over 100 FPS at 4K Resolution and Ultra Settings in AAA Games, Ray Tracing Performance Detailed.

Techradar -  Although we haven’t had the chance to benchmark the card thoroughly, we did get to play multiple PC games at 4K and in excess of 60 frames per second (fps) with the RTX 2080 Ti at Nvidia’s GeForce Gaming Celebration event at Gamescom 2018.
Unfortunately, due to multiple non-disclosure agreements we signed, we can only tell you that Shadow of the Tomb Raider looks stunning with ray tracing turned on. Thanks to Nvidia’s RTX technology, shadows do indeed look more realistic – with different intensities everywhere depicted in a stony ruin in the rainforest. We also just gawked at the walls, looking them shimmer as light reflected and refracted off of them.
In terms of frame rate, Shadow of the Tomb Raider ran at a mostly consistent 50-57 fps, which is impressive giving the game is running on a single GPU and in such an early state – on top of all the new ray tracing techniques.
We also played a variety of other PC games that shall not be named, and saw performance run in excess of 100 fps at 4K and Ultra settings. Unfortunately, we also don’t know how much power these GPUs had to draw to reach this level of performance.

dsogaming.com - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080Ti unable to run Shadow of the Tomb Raider with 60fps at 1080p with RTX On [UPDATE: Developers respond]
The Nvidia Ray Tracing technology currently being shown in Shadow of the Tomb Raider is an early work in progress version. As a result, different areas of the game have received different levels of polish while we work toward complete implementation of this new technology.

The final Nvidia Ray Tracing integration will be released as a post-launch update, and we are excited for our fans to experience it first-hand.

I can finally run crysis at.full speed 😁

Those who abuse power, are nothing but scumbags! The challenge of power is how to use it and not abuse it. The abuse of power that seems to create the most unhappiness is when a person uses personal power to get ahead without regards to the welfare of others, people are obsessed with it. You can take a nice person and turn them into a slob, into an insane being, craving power, destroying anything that stands in their way.

Spot on, I'm quite confident the Titan V still holds up over this generation, albeit the price difference shows the performance gains.

I have 37 days to Step-Up, if i decide to, it will all be dependent on a couple Benchmarks.. if the benchies come before i have the ability to step up.
Seeing as Svowell, is apparently quoting other parties.(i have not checked yet), We may have better than average Frames in some games.

As these new gen cards are supposed to R-Trace the heck out of stuff, and there is nothing there to base that fact on, because nothing is optimized for it.
Why then is nvidia holding back anything on the performance of these cards themselves?
If you can be over 100fps consistently at 4k, without breaking a sweat... you would think Nvidia benchies would be all over everywhere like stink on you know what.

However they left everyone in the dark about it.. seems shady and a little underwhelming.

Selling a lot more product because you showed how sweet it will be... because, "It just works".

What’s the return policy like here because I have one pre ordered. But not allowing bench marks until street date is a joke. So if the benchmarks sucks I’ll be ready to send it back.

Yeah I'm disappointed about that.  I'm not doubting these are faster but by how much is the million dollar question on everyone's mind and we're not talking about RT that wasn't existent before or barely.  It's obvious when something new comes out, it won't be 100+ FPS blazing out the doors. lol  It's funny using a slide to show RT performance vs. the last gen. and using that as a 'jump in performance'.....Snail oil salesmen tactics imho.  The tactic they used for their presentation in general had me scratching my head.  Obviously not one of my favorite event's they've done.  Atm I have a bad taste in my mouth and wish they could start over. lol

I bet it’s faster than the Titan V at ray tracing and maybe on par in machine learning.

Titan V will still be king, until we see a Titan based Turing card, but I doubt it.

4 vs. 6 Cores?
8GB vs. 32GB?
If the system would be equal we would have been definitely able to say if its faster or not, but not with these differences.
Why should I order a 1,3k card when RayTracing is not even working completely and there are no other benchmarks available?
This doesn't makes sense.

Its clear you don't understand DX12's reduced dependence on CPU performance.

If this is true then it is a dang fast card.  Remember that is a Titan V that is beating.  Titan V is a nice jump over a 1080TI

The Titan V also has some odd graphical task penalties, such as doing some operations over 3 clock cycles instead of 1.
